Front Air Bag Sensor Control problems of the 2007 Ford F-150

The contact owns a 2007 Ford f150. The contact was driving approximately 50 mph on normal road conditions. There was an excessive force applied to the brake pedal. The vehicle failed to slow down and crashed into the rear of a proceeding vehicle. The brake pedal broke as a result of the pressure applied to it. The police and ambulance were called to the scene. The driver sustained a minor injury and the passenger sustained severe injuries to the neck and head. The air bags failed to deploy on impact. The vehicle was towed to a collision shop and repaired for the damages. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for the repair of the brake system and replacement of the air bag sensor. In addition, when proceeding to make a sharp turn there was a loud popping noise coming from the front end of the vehicle. The failure mileage was 30,000.

Passenger seat air bag turns off. Occasional problem, has become constant problem. Wife weighs 100 lb+. Never had this problem with any other car,do not have the problem with our 09, Smart car. One dealer said she doesn't weigh enough,another said,bag will still deploy but not as hard. Think it is a sensor in the seat ,when the light says bag off, means no protection, and it will not deploy. Happens intermittently,some times re connecting the seat belt corrects it but only for a while. Just completed 3,000 mile trip across country, bag off light was on most of the time. Didn't seem to matter how the wife positioned her self,this is not a weight/size issue,but a failure of a safety device. Is it an '07' issue?.
