Tl- the contact owns a 2010 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving, the vehicle shut off without warning. The vehicle was pulled to the side and later restarted. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that there was high resistance from the wire that connected to fuel pump. The technician also diagnosed that there was a sign of excessive heat which caused the fuse location number 27 to melt. The contact referenced a TSB number: 15-0137. The contact called the penske Ford, located 8970 la mesa blvd, la mesa, CA 91942, (619)350-8731 and was referred to the manufacturer, however, the number was not the right number for the manufacturer. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 105,000. Fe.
Several times my Ford f150 will suddenly not start and has left me stranded numerous occasions. One mechanic said it was the fuel pump so I replaced that. However, it happened again. Upon researching the internet, I discovered the fuel pump relay may need to be replaced. I took the rear defrosting relay and placed it in for the fuel pump relay and the truck started. However, several days later it happened again. In order to move my vehicle, I have used several different relays to get the truck to start and it's worked up until yesterday. I've bought new ones and it still wouldn't work. Upon further research, I decided to check the fuel pump fuse and it was melted to the fuse box. This made me look up recalls and TSB no. 15-0137 seems to be applicable. However, when I search my VIN, my vehicle is not listed under the recall. I believe it should be.
While driving on the highway the engine shut off. Upon inspection, fuse #27 burned out instead of blowing. This fuse controls the fuel pump, and when it burned up the fuel pump lost power at highway speed. Upon research it is a very common problem with the 2009-2014 year models and Ford issued a TSB but not a recall. I hadn't known about this when purchasing the truck used, and it is a very serious safety issue.
Ive had the same problem now twice in a row with the fuel pump 20a fuel in the fuse box under the hood getting hot and melting then blowing the fuse. This fuse if it hadn't blown would have caught the fuse box on fire. Ford makes a kit to bypass the tiny fuse to relicate it to a larger fuse in an open spot. There are multiple others in numerous forums who state they have had the same problem. Ford has never issued a recall for this issue that can turn bad if the fuse does not pop.
Ford F-150 will not start intermittently. The engine cranks but will not start. The issue has been identified with fuse #27 over heating but not blowing. Fuse #27 is the fuse for the fuel pump diver module. The engine has not died on me while in motion though there are multiple other instances of individuals who have had their vehicle die on them. . Engine cranks but does not start one morning. Found fried fuel pump fuse was the issue. Not a blown fuse. A fried fuse. Blackened and charred.
My truck cranks but won't start. The fuse to the fuel pump relay was blown. I understand this is a problem with many truck owners and Ford is offering a bypass kit for this system for $400-$500. Shouldn't this be a recall if they're having to install a bypass kit?.
Fuel pump relay fuse melted. 2010 F-150 2 wd v8, was driving and pulling a trailer (within the vehicle's parameters weight wise, I. E. Not overloaded, and in fact it continued with the empty trailer) and the truck began stalling randomly, usually when going up a hill. This is very dangerous as I was hauling valuable horses up hilly roads at the time. I had it repaired at a local dealership (crain Ford, little rock, arkansas 501-570-3737) which involved moving the fuse to a different spot. It seems to be acting up again after less than a week. I paid a lot of money to "fix" it and it needs to stay fixed!.
The truck has had this issue since I've purchased the truck but can never duplicate the issue while at the dealership. The 1st time the engine would crank but would not fire. The second time, I was driving and the truck just stopped. I was lucky enough some passing by motorist helped to push it out of the intersection. 3rd time, the truck was parked and did not start. After troubleshooting the issue, the fuel pump relay fuse burned out. Normally fuses just pop, this one just burned out to where I could not take out the fuse. Took the truck to was bought at and after a few hours, the problem was located. The shop foreman stated that they have had alot of trucks go in with the same issue. Only reason I making a complaint is due to that comment. It is a safety issue when I was driving and truck shuts off in the middle of the intersection. What if my sons were with me? hope this gets resolved and a recalled is made before something worse happens to someone else. Thank you.
I live in a metropolitan area where there is always a high volume of traffic and losing power of a vehicle is a dangerous situation. Driving in 5:00 rush hour traffic and accelerating from a red light when my Ford truck entered into a "limp home" mode (wrench icon and oil lamp appeared) it stalled out. I was able to coast into a parking lot even though I had no power steering or brakes. Eventually, I was able to start my vehicle. My truck drove fine but now and then had a hesitation to start. About a week later, it stalled again; this time it did not start. I was a block from my office and we pushed it back. I had it towed to a local shop and was told it was the fuel pump. I work in outside sales and had to have it replaced $700. The truck drove ok for about a month, but still hesitated on starting. In June, once again it stalled. I took it back to the shop and they could find nothing wrong. July 9th, I was driving about 55 mph when I came to a signal light and stopped. The light turned green, I begin my left hand turn and the truck stalled. I had it towed to Ford dealer. They are saying that now it is the fuel pump battery junction box, another $2500 and it will take after labor day before I get my truck back because there are no parts available!!! rent a car for 2 months on top of that!!!.
While driving, the vehicle lost power completely so power steering was non-functional. Was able, with much difficulty, to guide the vehicle off of busy road and on to side street. Darn lucky I wasn't involved in accident. Had vehicle towed to crossroads Ford in cary, n. C. Here is word for word what the mechanic wrote. "vehicle towed in. Customer states vehicle turns over but won't start. Check and advise. "could not duplicate concern. Ran oasis. No codes. Read past hotline reports for bad pin fit for fuse 27 in under hood fuse panel. Tried to relocate to different location. Wire terminal damaged during removal. Installed inline fuse holder to fuel pump wire. Installed 20 amp fuse. Test drove and no problems at this time. " so basically, this was a flaw in manufacture regarding pin fit for fuse 27 that caused vehicle to cease power while driving and endangered passengers. I called Ford service at 800-392-3673 and case was opened. Case # cas5727652x5m4m9. Customer service rep at crossroads Ford was matt keil and mechanic was dan shaub. I spoke with service manager robert rudloff and he was made aware of situation and I'm waiting for his reply as to if there will be compensation.
While driving for the first time on the day of the incident I had traveled about 3 miles when I heard a tone and saw the check engine light come on. I immediately applied the brakes as I was approaching a red light and as the truck slowed I saw a low oil pressure warning come up on the digital message center and the engine stalled. I lost brake pressure and nearly ran the red light. I turned the ignition off and restarted the truck. I drove to the dealer immediately (southwest Ford of greenville, TX) they troubleshot the problem down to a faulty fuel purge valve. This caused a secondary issue due to an excess vacuum build up in the tank. The tank was deformed destroying the fuel pump and fuel qty sending unit. The repair cost was about 1200 dollars. The dealership was excellent at giving me the detailed information, and they paid for my rental.
