Rear driver side window shattered for no apparent reason. Started truck and was leaving work parking lot. Looked in rear view mirror and the rear window shattered. Rear defroster was running at the time, temperature outside was about 25f.
The ignition switch does not want to turn. And seems loose in the column.
Power steering suddenly failed and the service advancetrac light came on while accelerating from a stop sign and turning left. Maneuvered the car down the street and couldn't navigate the driveway so I backed up and the power steering began working but the advancetrac light remained on. This light came on before but with no effect to the steering only the blinkers, which would not stay on. Disconnected the battery and light and problem went away. Spoke with the dealer and was told that it was also connected to the abs braking system and to schedule an appointment if these happens again. 114800 miles.
What driving and a/c cut on and off and had smoke coming from the vent and not long after passenger side dash caught on fire.
Secondary timing chain link came apart soon after I bought the truck in 2015 at 66,000 miles my warranty paid for it. Now it is happening again but on the other side of the engine. 2 time chain links fall apart. Ford is not paying for this because my warranty was up 2 months ago and it is not a pre certified truck, miles are 120,066 miles. 2 timing chain links break in 4 years???????? the technicians at santa maria Ford said they have never seen anything like this before. Ford is denying to pay for this repair!!!!!!!.
My transmission is getting stuck in third gear and is unexpectedly downshifting to 1st gear when driving.
The truck was in park I had stepped out to check the mail with my children in the truck the next thing I knew my truck was moving like it was in gear I jumped in pressed the break and it still showed it in park I pushed into park harder and it stopped. . I was not on a hill or anything to make it roll and it was actually moving like it was put into gear.
Rear window in 2012 Ford f150 supercrew cab shattered when driver's door closed.
Recall notice19s07 recall NHTSA 19v-075 I have gone to the dealership 2 times I have the 6 cylinder with3. 5 eco-boost engine. They said Ford does not have a repair for the v-6 yet but when they do I will receive a notice why was I notified if there is no reprograming yet. It has been recalled and they have not been given a fix.
Had recall preformed it still is dropping into 1st gear while driving complaint number: 11181584.
Twice now (I just purchased it less than 30 days ago) while backing out of my driveway I had to stand on the brakes to stop the vehicle. No power brakes were present. No lights on dash, no warning,. . . . No nothing.
Driver side rear window shattered while sitting still in a parking lot with vehicle not running. The rear window is a 3 piece sliding window with rear defrost and factory tint. The vehicle had just been turned off after driving with the rear defroster on. Approximately 2-3 minutes after turning the vehicle off I heard a load boom and after investigating found it to be the rear glass shattering. After researching the condition, it seems to be a common problem on these vehicles after running the rear defroster.
2012 f150 fx4 passenger rear window exploded 2-9-19. 32 degrees. Has defrost, was not on. Actually caught the incident on video while parked in my driveway. Entered vehicle after remote start, inserted key. . . 10 seconds later "shatter". This is clearly defective glass, maybe not thick enough? disappointing. This should be a recall. I do have video as it occurred.
Powered slide rear window. Sliding rear widow blew out while driving truck.
No air cool/heat blows out . . . . 3rd F-150 has done this something must be wrong.
Transmission - output speed sensor is faulty. Had a recall, said the transmission module needed reprogramming, however this did not fix issue of downshifting to 1st gear and unable to shift out of. Also happens to 3rd and 5th. Other 2012's have lead frame assembly replacement which takes care of faulty output speed sensor, my recall of re-programming has all the symptoms of the lead frame recall but is just outside the manufacture date and not included.
Right rear slider window exploded and shattered. Defroster may have been on. Vehicle running about 5 to ten minutes. This has been a issue with f 150's since 2010. Also the water pump went out with 29003 miles. Now the truck has about 30100 miles accumulated. Driving slowly on a country paved road. Fords customer assistance refused to repair as the vehicle is out of warranty even though this is a on going factory fault. My sons f150 had the same issue.
I turn on rear defogger heard of loud bang and the right side of rear window shattered. There was no evidence of an impact.
Rear defrost has been working sporadically, and then all of a sudden my back passenger window exploded as I was driving down the road. I was told the heating element is what caused the window to explode.
The door locks on the vehicle stick in the locked position. I cannot get in or out the vehicle when the door locks stick. This is a reoccurring issue. I have to get pliers to pull the tab up to get it unlocked. It happens in both stationary and when the vehicle is in motion.
Very little to no brakes at all. Of course the same issue everyone else is having. Vacuum pump/ brake booster! definitely a safety issue and how they haven't fixed this issue yet is beyond me. No actually I do know since I'm a Ford employee myself, but I'll save that for a representative. Remember quality is job one! eric neblett from louisville kentucky. Email: ericneblett@gmail. Com. Had been in the truck driving and the rear window defroster on. When I stopped and opened the door to the truck a panel in the rear sliding back glass exploded. I have been seeing where many others have had the issue and some had said to report it here.
Rear window, on passenger side, shattered after turning the defrost on. Temp was approximately 15 degrees. The indicator light on the defrost was flickering, as the window shattered, then turned off. This occurred while driving on a straight flat road 30 miles per hour.
While driving my pick up on a cold day with the rear window defroster on, one panel of the rear window shattered. During subsequent driving the rear window fell out of the frame into the bed of the pick up. I believe the defroster malfunctioned and overheated causing the panel to shatter because of the excessive heat being generated by the defroster versus the cold air outside the vehicle.
I own a 2012 f150 ecoboost. My problem is when I accelerate during rainy/humid weather conditions, the vehicle stalls and shutters. The check engine light does not illuminate and the service center cannot daignose the problem because they can't see any code. I've been recommended to get new spark plugs and coils which does not solve the problem. Austin, texas 1/2018.
My f150 started to drop in to 1st gear unexpectedly when driving at at speeds greater than 50mph. At first the check engine light did not come on and mechanic could not find a source now I am getting engine codes p0720 and p0722. When I tried to investigate I found that this has been recalled on some 2012 Ford f150 but not mine. This is a serious safety issue and has cause unexpectedly down shifts on national interstates. I urge you to please investigate this thoroughly.
Turned on the truck to warm up and turned on the defroster on the back window because it was cold out. About 5min down the road we heard this very loud pop and the window completely shattered. Luckily it stayed intact or the glass would have gone all over my two year old son. Now I am being told it costs over $1000. 00 to fix!.
I turned on the rear defrost and my passenger side of the rear window shattered. There was a loud noise when it happened. I was driving when this happened. The dealer and other Ford personnel have admitted this is a widespread problem - but no recall.
My 2012 f150 rear drivers side window section suddenly shattered after turning on the rear defrost function. Rear defrost went on then I smelled something burning g. The rear drivers side glass section then shattered. There was absolutely no trauma that caused this. The rear defrost will no longer operate since. I contacted Ford service and there is no recall at this time. I searched online and found close to 150 similar complaints. When the glass shattered the temperature was near 30 degrees and the vehicle was not in motion.
P0720 trouble code. Speedometer does not work. At highway cruising speeds, the transmission occasionally downshifts to 1st gear.
I purchased a 2012 Ford ecoboost in July 2012. And purchased an extended 5yr 100k mile warranty. , which was valid through July 20, 2017. In August of 2017, after the truck sat for a couple days, I would start the car and hear a loud rattle coming from the front of the motor. I started to research the internet and found out that ecoboost models from 2011-2015 had faulty timing chains that stretched / malfunctioned after a short period of time. I found several testimonials and videos of ecoboost owners with the same issue. I contacted Ford and basically got a "sorry" response since I was 60 days over the warranty period. The repair cost $~ 4000 and Ford is turning a blind eye. I have followed all maintenance requirements and take impeccable care of my vehicle. And I'm now faced with a $4000 repair bill with a truck with 77k miles on it. We need NHTSA to help Ford step up to the plate and make this right to the customer. And issue a recall for this current TSB. If not repaired, the time chain can jump and destroy the motor. This isn't a small issue. No consumer should be faced with a $4000 repair bill after 77k miles and taking care of their vehicle. Your support in instituting a recall for this design malfunction will not just help me, but many others I've met online with the same issue. Regards.
I went to open the moonroof on a hot afternoon to vent the truck. I pressed the switch to tilt the glass and it didn't seem to move. I tried the slide function and heard a loud pop. The glass slid about 1" and stopped. I tried numerous times to open or close the moonroof and only succeeded in getting it to open about 5" and it will not close. I have read many posts on Ford forums and other forums about this problem. It includes not only the F-150's but explorers and expeditions from 2007 to present. A small plastic part breaks and renders to moonroof inoperable. The owner is then stuck with an opening in the roof of their vehicle that will let the weather in. Rain could potentially short out much of the vehicles electrical system. The estimated cost to fix this at the dealer is as much as $2400 for a part the probably cost Ford less than $1. The vehicle was stationary when this happened, but could very well happened on the highway as I have opened the moonroof while traveling before. The sound of the plastic pieces breaking while opening could very well startle a driver if opened while traveling. I have to travel with a piece of plastic in the truck and use it to cover the opening in case of rain. Also the vehicle isn't secure because of the opening. I'm also not sure if this will shatter the glass if opened further.
Purchased the vehicle with 34,xxx miles documented as verified. Recently was provided carfax for the vehicle that says it had 60,xxx miles previously in 2017. Also vehicle sold without disclosed accident .
When parked with ignition off and no one in the truck drivers side door will not unlock with key or inside on the unlock switch. When I first noticed the problem sometimes you can unlock and lock repeatedly and it would unlock but now it wont do anything. Both doors lock fine but when unlocking only the passanger side door unlocks. This is on an extended cab XLT.
Tailgate step hinge needs to have slip resistant spray or material on it. The step has slip resistant material, but when stepping down, if the ball of your foot lands on the hinge you can slide off the step resulting in severe injury.
