I have a 2014 f150 Ford truck. The truck had been sitting in the driveway for 3 days. I was outside and heard a loud bang and thunk. I started to look around to find what it was and saw something under the front passenger side of the truck. Looking at it I found what looked like a broken piece of curved rod about 5/8 inch in diameter. Looking further I found it was off the coil over spring which had broke on the passenger side front of the vehicle. This was a clean break with no cracks in the metal and did not look like there had been any reason for it to break. The truck has 44000 miles on it. I think that if this happened while driving that it may have caused an accident. I think that the metal was defective as I have never heard of a coil spring breaking like this with so few miles on a vehicle.
