After having my truck fail to start several times I discovered it was a "fuse 27" issue with the truck. This issue is so prevalent that the Ford dealer knew the issue by name as soon as I described it. The fuse, located in slot 27 of the main fuse panel was severely burned and charred from an overload issue that causes the fuse to burn in its socket instead of tripping like a fuse is designed. After researching the issue, I discovered this is a known issue to Ford (TSB 15-0137) and hundreds, possibly thousands of Ford F-150 vehicles are affected with this issue. This issue is a potential fire hazard to the vehicle, or could cause loss of power at highway speeds. Ford is choosing to release a TSB and a repair kit, and charge customers to fix their faulty wiring in their new vehicles instead of a recall or warranty coverage of a known issue they are not fixing. This is dangerous and irresponsible on Ford's part.
