My upholstery of the drivers seat was worn out, so I had it replaced. When the mechanic pulled off the old upholstery, he found that the seat frame was broken in two places. I was then told by the service writer that this is a safety issue and that they are required to not release my vehicle back to me, due to the severity of the safety of the driver. He told me that the seat could break loose from the truck in event of a collision. - I have saved the damaged component - there was no indication or warning that this component failed.
Front left mounting bolt on the drivers seat fell out causing the seat to rock backwards while in motion. Rocking is worst at times of acceleration or braking.
Tl the contact owns a 2015 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the front driver's seat was not structurally sound because the bottom of the seat swayed in a rocking motion. The contact stated that the front seat adjuster pivot bolts failed to function. The vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 17v767000 (seats), although the vehicle exhibited the same failure as the 2016 vehicles of the same make and model. The dealer (honolulu Ford, 1370 n king st, honolulu, hi 96817, (808) 824-3981) was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact felt that the failure would recur if the manufacturer had not provided a new remedy for the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 28,000.
I have cooled front leather seats. When turned on, the seat backs become very hot instead of being cooled. This has been reported on a number of websites by quite a few people and Ford has issued a service bulletin. . Read more...
Driver side front seat feels as if it moves from side to side as the vehicle corners. It feels as if a part is loose in the horizontal portion of the seat. This started occurring a few months after purchase (Dec. 2015).
In some affected Ford vehicles with climate controlled seats it is found that excessive temperatures in excess of 132 degrees f can be reached on the rear of the front seats. This area is just above the magazine pocket which causes an increase risk of contact with the high temperatures. Children often store books in the magazine pocket and come in contact with the leather upholstery that is at an elevated temperature. If metal objects, such as toys, are stored in the seat pocket they can have heat transfer from this unit causing the toys to be hot to the touch causing the potential for burns. My children have touched this area of the seat in the past and complained about the seat being hot. They also have at times grabbed a toy out of the seat pocket and immediately dropped the die-cast toy due to it being hot. Know affected vehicles include late 2015+ Ford f150, Ford explorer, Ford mustang, and other models with the same seat climate control system. Ford released a TSB 15-0154 to add an additional intake sock to the climate controlled seats. This repair has not successfully mitigated the safety risk to children being exposed to the hot temperatures.
I have been having an ongoing issue with my transmission, where it shifts rough or does not shift appropriately. When the truck shifts rough, I barely have my foot on the accelerator, where it will slam into gear causing the truck to jolt. I also have been experiencing the truck failing to downshift out of 4th gear while going uphills. While going uphills, the rpms will go below 1000, where the truck will begin to shutter as if it is going to stall. You are forced to press the accelerator in order for it to shift, where the rpms/turbo booster will soar. I have had the truck at the dealership for this concern, where they performed a software update and it did not fix the issue. I feel the transmission shifting rough could cause an accident, if the engine in fact stalls and you lose control of the vehicle. I also feel being forced to accelerate could cause you to strike the vehicle in front of you or lose control it this occurs while negotiating a turn etc. The panoramic sunroof allows water to pass the rubber seal and drain into the water track. I frequently have had the windows fog up from moisture inside the passenger compartment and the odor of mold. If you google "2015 Ford F-150 sunroof leaks", you will find 1000's of concerned Ford owners on forums experiencing the same issues, where Ford states it is normal for the sunroof to leak past the seal. I feel the sunroof is a health concern, as I believe mold may be growing in the truck and is being breathed in. I have been experiencing the seat back getting extremely hot while using the "cooled seat" feature. I feel this could cause a burn or fire hazard.
My 2015 lariat has heated/cooled leather front seats. When using the seat cooling function I noticed the seat bottom would cool but the seat back seemed to get warm. At first I thought it was my imagination. Attempted to use it on Friday and about 30 minutes later my back was hot. I pulled over, felt the seat back with my palm, then my cheek and it was hot to the touch.

The cooled seat function on the 2015 is a very poor design and it causes extreme heat to the back of the seat while the bottom of the seat somewhat cools. I feel this is a fire danger to anything in the seat back pocket.

The front seat back cooling system (utilizing a ted unit for cooling) is malfunctioning on my brand new 2015 Ford F-150 platinum. When seat cooling is selected, after 15-30 minutes, the back of the front seats reaches extreme temperatures, resulting in extreme discomfort and potential burning of anyone that touches the front or back of the front seatbacks. Members of the Ford F-150 forum have measured and documented the temperature readings, at the top of the map pocket, at over 115 degrees, when ambient temperatures were at 75 degrees. When ambient temperatures rise above 90 degrees, the front seat back temperature can easily reach up to 150 degrees or more. These are levels of heat that certainly can injure a child, or even an adult and, if a child is left in a locked car with the "cooling seats" engaged, it can more rapidly escalate the ambient temperatures to a dangerous and perhaps fatal level inside the vehicle. All attempts to bring this to Ford regional and national customer service agents have been met with total disregard and, in some cases refusal to admit that a problem even exists. Aside from the fact that owners paid $60k for these vehicles, Ford's callous disregard of owners attempts to bring this to their attention are in stark contrast with Ford's stated commitment to quality and service. Examples of seat discoloration (leather) indicate just how high the temperatures can get . A 2013 vehicle with similar options had cooled seats that functioned perfectly well, but all 2015’s share this design flaw. . Read more...

Front seat back cooling system (ted) is malfunctioning. When seat cooling is selected, after 5-10 minutes the back of the front seats reach extreme temperatures. I am concerned that the extreme temperatures could pose a potential burn hazard or cause an electrical fire. I have not personally measured the temperature of the seats but while researching the problem I came across a forum where individuals with thermal cameras and inferred thermometers have measured the temperatures of the seat. Several of the results were: at the top of the map pocket, at over 115 degrees, when ambient temperatures were at 75 degrees. When ambient temperatures rise above 90 degrees, the front seat back temperature can reach up to 150 degrees or more! numerous people are having this problem and Ford has not made any public announcement that there is a potential problem with the cooled seats. .
