1 Sun Roof problem

Failure Date: 04/03/2019

Tl the contact owns a 2015 Ford F-150. While driving 35 mph, the contact heard a loud popping sound. When he looked up, he noticed that the sun roof had caved in and the left side was tilted down and nonfunctional. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to junge Ford (525 madison Ave, north liberty, IA 52317, (319) 626-9500) where it was diagnosed that new sun roof brackets and/or the entire track system were needed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and did not assist. The failure mileage was 62,000.

2 Sun Roof problem

Failure Date: 07/31/2017

The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-150. While the contact was attempting to operate the sun roof, it failed to open. The vehicle was taken to crain Ford of little rock (4601 colonel glenn plaza dr, little rock, ar 72210, (501) 436-0341) where it was diagnosed that the roof opening panel and the frame assembly on the sun roof needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, but was not diagnosed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and advised the contact to call NHTSA. The approximate failure mileage was 40,645.

3 Sun Roof problem

Failure Date: 07/21/2015

2015 Ford F-150. Consumer writes in regards to sun roof rattles/popping noise issues. Consumer states dealership refuses to buy back vehicle. The consumer stated after purchasing the vehicle, he noticed a problem with the roof, weather stripping and the paint was peeling. The dealer replaced the weather stripping, repainted the roof of the cab. Ford engineers did not know how to correct the popping noise.
