Since I purchsed this truck it has been to the 3 Ford garages. At first I had a vibration in 3 rd gear and 7th. Finally after spending a lot of money a Ford service said it was the drive shaft. The vibration lessoned. For the past 6 months the transmission pauses between shifts making dangrous when your moving then the truck pauses for a couple of seconds. First you could grt hit from the rear. Second if your turing onto a lane and it pauses as someone is coming. Possible accident.
The transmission will twist the driveshaft at startup, stationary, and cause the rear end to pop very loudly. I've shown Ford engineering a video of it, I was told that it was normal. I've never heard of a vehicle doing this before. There is a rattling sound on deceleration, loudest when the engine is cold and lessons or maybe even goes away after warmed up. The engine was replaced earlier this year because of an oil consumption issue. The truck has memory power driver's seat and power mirrors that should go into place depending on the key fob that it detects. Randomly both side mirrors will start moving and popping before going back into position. This always occurs before the vehicle is started. I've noticed that it is usually when it detects the key fob or when I use the fob for some function. The seat randomly doesn't go into the memory position at startup.
Power is being transferred to the driveshaft when starting the vehicle in park, making the driveshaft spin backwards. A loud mechanical clunk is heard from the transmission when occurring. The vehicle is stationary when starting. After 6 weeks and three attempts to repair, Ford stated "this gear state is ideal for anticipation of an engagement but also generates a positive drag to the driveline and can cause a rocking sensation of the vehicle at or just after engine start in park. The 2 loaner F-150s driven while waiting with the 10r80 transmission did not exhibit the condition.
Loud clunk when starting truck and drive shaft moves. Brought to dealer twice, July & oct 2018 they found nothing. When at a stopd light/sign, it hesitates when ready to proceed, transmission is not engaging right away, it's delayed. Very dangerous. My husband noticed slight jerking at times. Driver side door froze and could not open twice. Had to use passenger side.
Noticed chassis vibration starting at and above 60 mph. Dealer attempted various fixes including replacing drive shaft, but vibrations remain.
