My wife was driving about 40 mph and the emergency collision alarm came on causing the vehicle to abruptly try to stop. San alarm went off in the dash indicating an imminent crash causing my wife to almost lose control of the vehicle. There was no vehicle in front of us and none in the opposing lane or behind us to trigger this response. My wife speculated maybe a bird flew across in front of us but I dodn,t see that. It was very alarming and almost caused her to lose control of the vehicle. I had this happen to me driving alone at about 40 mph. The only difference , there was a vehicle in front of m e but I was not close enough to trigger this safety alarm. The vehicle in front of me was not stopped and I was not close enough to trigger this response. I was at least4 or 5 car lengths away doing 40 mph. And they were traveling about the same speed. No rapid approach issue. . .
Vehicle was purchased 2020 I am the original owner typewriter noise and power train hard shift noise brakes let go caused me an accident engine or transmission issue slip and drag feel since I bought it.
My electrical system failed and then caught fire. The entire situation started 4 days ago where my "dome" or "cargo" light kept turning on even though the car was off. 3 days ago my alarm would go off every 15 minutes until I unplugged the battery. I disconnected the battery over night hoping to reset the computer. After reconnecting the battery I got a rear "left rear door ajar" message on the dash. After inspecting the sensor and wiring harness in left rear door, I found no issue. However, now "front left door ajar" message appeared on dash along with "left rear door ajar. " also a litany of other warning lights involving cameras, emergancy braking, etc. Came on. While attempting to drive to dealership to have them inspect the issue. The wiring harness behind the back seat on the right side of the vehicle began smoking. Smoke began billowing from behind the seatbelt opening in the plastic trim on the backside of the door frame.
It present at this moment engine light on and off all time, it had a power train damaged, I bought a new transmission 5 month ago, at this time it has deactivated adaptative cruise control, automatic emergency brakes, forward collision warning, and it has a power train problem again.
While driving down a two lane street, a van ran in front of me causing me to t-bone that vehicle. The advance warning did not activate, the brakes did not automatically activate, and worst, the air bag did not deploy causing me some injuries.
Advanced collision warning works. But, the braking has never kicked in at all ever. I have seen this issue 4 or 5 times in the last year.
In motion, interstate highway merge lane. I have a 2019 Ford f150 equipped with a pre-collision avoidance system. The vehicle mileage is approximately 12,500. I purchased the vehicle new. During my vehicle ownership the collision avoidance system has always been set to apply braking and alert set to high the system has alerted on multiple occasions, however the aeb never engaged the brakes. I was recently in a collision, while the system alerted, and should have engaged the aeb. The pre-collision aeb did not apply the brakes. The collision was minor; the pre-collision aeb system failed. Other concerns for consideration. If the pre-collision system can fail, could the system also apply brakes when there is no danger of a collision. A failed system is a failed system. I would greatly appreciate a response and assurance from Ford motor corporation; before I have the damage repaired, I would like Ford to inspect the system, provide a data history report from my vehicle; and assurance the pre-collision system is functioning as designed before I have the vehicle repaired.
