My truck has a 2. 7 eco boost engine than has failed around 134,000 miles. The truck had a couple of misfires over the last couple of months, but otherwise no issues. I drove the truck one Saturday, did not drive Sunday, and on Monday I am told the engine is completely seized and I am responsible for replacing the engine. Ford will not attempt to determine if the recall for the valve intake stem has caused the issue and now I am spending over $12,000 to replace a 4 year old engine with no other issues.

The local dealer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
When turning right there was a complete loss of power with no response from the throttle it was just stuck coasting at 20klm hr. For 20 seconds or so then throttle kicked in and normal operation again. This has happened twice now in the past week. Very dangerous especially when turning into traffic.
While traveling on a local highway in the far left lane, the engine completely died (no engine light came on). I was trying to negotiate traffic while getting to the shoulder of the road, and the transmission began shifting itself into park. I grabbed the shift lever trying to prevent it from going into park; however, it did just as I reached the shoulder of the road. At this point, I had slowed to ~25 mph, but it still locked the tires up and slid a few feet. After turning the key off, removing it from the truck, and opening the door, I was finally able to restart it and I went straight to my local mechanic. He attached a code reader; however, there were no codes displayed. He stated they probably cleared out when I restarted the truck. This happened a couple of months ago, but my wife has been fussing at me to report it.
The contact owns a 2021 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact that the engine coolant over temperature warning light illuminated. The vehicle was able to restart however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the engine coolant system failed and needed to be repaired, the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and referred the contact to the nhsta hotline for assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 65,000.
The contact owns a 2021 Ford F-150. The contact became aware of oil underneath the vehicle. The contact stated that after turning off the vehicle, the steering wheel failed to lock as designed. The vehicle was taken to a mechanic for an oil change, and it was determined that there was an oil leak; however, the mechanic was unsure where the oil was located. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to determine the cause of failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 60,600.
Description of incident: the vehicle exhibits a severe and unpredictable transmission "shudder," "stutter," and hesitation during gear synchronization, specifically during 1st–3rd and 8th–10th gear transitions. This manifest as a violent "shaking" sensation and a loss of momentary acceleration while merging into high-speed traffic. This issue was first reported to an authorized Ford dealership on December 17, 2024. At that time, the vehicle exhibited harsh shifting and "shuddering" consistent with Ford technical service bulletin (TSB) 22-2428. Despite being under a 150,000-mile service contract, the dealer misdiagnosed the mechanical transmission defect as an engine misfire, resulting in ineffective repairs. The defect has persisted and worsened. The internal failure has been identified as a defective cdf clutch drum (cylinder) where an internal bushing moves out of place, obstructing fluid flow and causing mechanical "slip. " this is a known manufacturing defect documented in multiple Ford tsbs (22-2428, 23-2250, and 24-2101). Safety risk: the failure causes unpredictable power delivery. On multiple occasions, the vehicle has hesitated or "stuttered" while attempting to merge onto highways or cross intersections, leaving the vehicle vulnerable to side-impact or rear-end collisions. The lack of consistent throttle response and the violent nature of the shifting creates a significant safety hazard for the driver and surrounding motorists. Verification/inspection: the symptoms were reported to a Ford dealership multiple times. As of December 2025, the dealership has opened a formal case with the manufacturer to verify the internal "cause of failure" by the shop foreman. No warning lamps or diagnostic trouble codes (dtcs) appeared on the dashboard, as the failure is a mechanical internal bushing slip that does not always trigger a software sensor until total failure occurs. The vehicle is available for inspection.
Vehicle suddenly overheated affecting ability to drive in traffic. Discovered coolant leak. The very issue determined by the dealership is the exact issue of a current recall. They say it’s not associated with my VIN despite being the exact issue for the exact make and model. [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where an unknown diagnosis was provided, and unknown repairs were performed. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle was difficult to start. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 109,000.
The intake valves failed in my 2021 Ford f150 and has caused major engine damage the truck is un drivable now and Ford refuses to help me in any way they said the recall is expected to have a remedy in 2025 so until then I’m just stuck they will not give me a loaner vechile or anything.
I was stopped at red light intersection my truck went into idle mode (start/stop) when light changed I tried to proceed through the truck engine/electrical transmission locked up. I had to turn the truck completely off and open one of the doors to be able to restart the truck and move through the intersection. It has done this repeatedly I have taken it to Ford they have tried to charge me an astronomical amount to diagnose it. . With no guarantee of it being fixed. I have almost been rear ended 3 times!.
After a right turn in a residential street, I pressed the accelerator to progress on the roadway. The truck did not accelerate, so I looked at the tachometer and observed it above 0 and below 1,000 rpm. The engine was running, but unresponsive despite pumping the accelerator. While rolling at 5 mph I shifted the transmission to neutral and continued pumping the accelerator. There was no response for the next 200'. Finally, the engine became responsive and ran normally. It runs normally now. I cannot reproduce this issue. I called the Ford dealer service on 8 November 24 at noon and they said "watch for the issue". I expressed that in traffic, a suddenly undependable engine is a serious concern. The accelerator/engine was unresponsive for a continued period of time. The gas engine was in control. There was no check light/warning light. The Ford dealer inspected the telemetry of the vehicle remotely and no anamolies were observed. The dealer declined to inspect the vehicle since the issue is not reproducible.
Right turn from stop then try to cleated there is no response from the pedal will lunge forward and engage throttle if I’m lucky.
1) vehicle acceleration delays. From a stopped vehicle condition transitioning onto highway roadway the vehicle failed to accelerate for several seconds. Again from stopped or low speed idling condition following a turn there occurs a 1 to 10 second failure to accelerate. 2) failure to accelerate puts into question the safety of anyone in any vehicle within proximity to the malfunctioning vehicle. 3) our personal vehicle problems has not been observed by any dealer, we have not presented it for diagnosis at this time. We are actively monitoring and posting to the [xxx] group about our experience. A Ford dealership employee has an advanced Ford factory representative working on understanding the problem. Otherwise, it seems, no one currently understands the issue as yet. 4) our personal vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance reps or others at this point in time. 5) there has never been a warning lamp or message in regard to this acceleration failure. The failure is not predictable in nature. We have never experience such failure at highway traffic speeds. It most often presents when accelerating from an idle or low speed driving condition, often following a turn. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. I’ve had multiple “service engine soon” errors appear while driving normal highway conditions. The same code appears on my mobile application as the following… powertrain malfunction / reduced power what is happening? illuminates when the system has detected a powertrain or a four-wheel drive fault. What should I do? a powertrain or all wheel drive (awd)/four wheel drive (4wd) fault has been detected, contact your authorized dealer as soon as possible. These codes have been noted on the following dates. 8-25-2024 and 9-6-2024.
I've experienced the loss of power during hard acceleration. Right hand turns from a stop feel like the engine has stalled and rolling right hand turns are becoming increasingly more dangerous. Most recently as I was merging onto a highway. Pedal to the floor, the truck initi9ally accelerated for a couple seconds until it stalled to make the truck not only not accelerate but almost made it feel as if I was breaking. This is very dangerous.
Cruising highway speeds, when accelerator is pressed to gain speed, make a pass, ect the transmission downshifts into 3rd gear, engine losses all power for 4-8 seconds while accelerator is held down. I’ve almost been in several accidents due to expecting a vehicle to accelerate and nothing happening and traffic.
Ford motor company (Ford) is recalling certain 2021-2022 bronco, F-150, edge, explorer, Lincoln nautilus, and Lincoln aviator vehicles equipped with either a 2. 7l or 3. 0l nano ecoboost engine. This safety recall was issued in August of 2024 on an engine valve, this is the only vehicle I have. The engine valve has the potential to crack increasing my risk of crashing, I have a 3 year old. I called tomball Ford last year in November and was informed they would have the parts by January 2025. It is now may 2025 and no parts or correspondence for the dangerous matter. In fact another recall has been issued.
Despite having been told my truck was fixed at a dealer shop, my truck still displays an absence of forward propulsion when applying the gas pedal and trying to accelerate from slower speeds. This has happened when trying to make a left or right turn when there is oncoming traffic. Sometimes this happens while trying to accelerate on the on-ramp of a highway to get up to normal piste speed limits with traffic very fast behind me. The dealer I took it to said they fixed the issues. Luckily I can apply the manual mode with a button, but this is distracting when trying to look for the button, and the issue comes back in automatic mode.
Vehicle is consuming excessive amounts of motor oil, requiring the addition of 1-2 quarts every 1,200-1,500 miles. Check engine light has illuminated once when engine was five quarts low, this was when I realized the problem. Ford has attempted to correct with technical service bulletin 19-2365, (5. 0l - excessive oil consumption) which I had performed on my vehicle and it did nothing to correct the issue. My greatest concerns are with premature parts failure and unexpected engine failure. I have written letters to Ford regarding this issue and have not received any response to date. I do have records of additional oil added since first realizing the issue existed.
