Vehicle repeatedly loses power steering and adaptive steering while driving. It happens randomly and can be at high speeds and low speeds.
Driving approx 40mph on the road and a loud thump sound followed by grinding from rear end started. Came to stop in the road and when the gas pedal was pushed the grinding sound continued. The truck was pushed off the side of the road and had to be towed to the dealership since January 4th. It has been at the dealership with no estimate of time for repair from the dealership so far and we just keep being told there is nothing they can do. The dealership states that the parts are on back order and we are in a line of several other trucks with the same problem.
Electric portion of rack and pinion faults while driving causing loss of power steering safety factor is loss of power steering Ford dealership has confirmed the issue and the truck only only has 37,000 miles.
The blue cruise hands free driving feature does not work and has guided the vehicle off of the road. It also asks the driver to take the steering wheel, but will not register that has happened without a very hard pull on the wheel, which pulls the vehicle into other lanes of traffic. This is a very dangerous situation.
The structural integrity of the hood and front bumper failed due to unsafe modifications performed by rocky ridge and endorsed by Ford motor company. The hood's structural reinforcements and crush zones were cut to fit a hood scoop, and sections of the front bumper were removed, compromising crashworthiness. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request and I have documented with images. The modifications to the hood and front bumper compromised the vehicle’s crashworthiness, potentially increasing the risk of severe injury or death in a collision. The removal of structural reinforcements and crush zones on both components prevents them from functioning as designed to absorb and distribute impact forces during a crash, endangering all occupants of the vehicle. The problem has been confirmed by an independent collision repair center, a Ford certified collision center and my insurance company usaa. Both parties have stated that the modifications to the hood and bumper are unsafe, and the insurance company has refused to authorize repairs that replicate the original modifications due to safety concerns. The vehicle has been inspected by my insurance company and a collision repair center. Both confirmed the safety concerns resulting from the modifications and highlighted that the affected components cannot be repaired or replaced without compromising safety. Images were provided to Ford motor company and inspected by Ford collision center manager. There were no warning lamps, messages, or other visible symptoms of the problem prior to the discovery of the modifications during a repair process. Ford positon statements and on target tech bulitens prohibit these types of modifications and were violated, then conceled so that the consumer would not be able to see them unless in an accident. Ford is citing that the time frame exceeds 24 months so there is nothing that they are willing to do about it. This is a failure to warn and product defect that impacts safety.

I bought the truck and two months later as I was driving the vehicle the rear defrental went out and caused the wheels to improperly balance the speed of all tires as I turned and cause my truck to turn roughly and I almost got in a wreck. I brought it to Ford and they seen it needed to be replaced. Mind you its only been a few months. About a year later it has issues again as im driving and I also noticed it was leaking def oil really bad. I brought it in and they said they fixed it. About 7 months later I had issues with it again and they had to repair again. Its very concerning and is a big issue and safety concern.
Noticed when the vehicle was already in motion and accelerating to get up to the street speed the truck all of a sudden starts shaking in the back. The shaking was not only in the back but in the front also. I called Ford and they stated there was nothing wrong with it. If that’s the case the explain why the back end and front end of the truck started shaking.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving approximately 5 mph the braking system and power steering suddenly failed causing the driver to loose control of the vehicle and crash into a concrete light pole pillar. During the incident the vehicle was severely damaged. The driver sustained a right hand laceration and chest and leg injuries. The front passenger sustained both leg injuries. Both occupants required medical treatment. The cause of the failures were not determined. A police report was taken at the scene and the vehicle was towed to an undisclosed location. The contact indicated that the failures had also occurred prior to the crash. The local dealer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was not yet contacted regarding the incident. The failure mileage was 10,100.
