The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving approximately 65 mph, the contact had engaged the pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking (aeb). The contact stated that his vehicle kept gaining on the vehicle in front of him and had not kept a safe distance. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact depressed the brake pedal and slowed down. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the vehicle was not equipped with the pre-collision assist system. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 1,600.
