When driving the gas pedal will go dead or not work at all. I will be driving along then try to push the gas at a left hand turn and nothing will happen. I push the pedal to the floor many times and after a period of time it starts to work again. The issue never puts out a code or check engine light. This is a safety issue for not only me and my family but others on the road as well. If the gas pedal was to fully stop working the truck would be stuck and could cause an accident. The dealer told me they could not reproduce the concern, but they did suggest to replace a temp sensor and reprogram pcm which I paid for, the cost was $870. 90.
Vehicle will inadvertantly accelerate or set cruise control to high speeds when on residential and low speed roads. Several times when either coming to a stop or accelerating from a stop vehicle has entered cruise control at 55-57 mph. Had to brake to stop vehicle acceleration.
A few weeks ago, while driving the vehicle, it displayed an engine misfire warning had extreme vibrations, and then the vehicle broke down, left me sitting on the side of the road. After getting the vehicle towed to a Ford dealership, we found the intake valve broke off on the motor and causes catastrophic complete engine failure. This is an active recall in 21 and 2022 f1 50s with the 2. 7 eco-boost. Per Ford my VIN is not attached to that recall and they said I had to call or get a hold of the national highway safety administration and get my VIN attached that recall for engine replacement. My vehicle is a 2022 with 100,000 miles on it and now it’s broke down because the engine had catastrophic engine failure due to a problem. Ford knows about this issue and won’t fix it until I get the vehicles then attached to the recall . The current recall number is 24s55 thank you.
The vehicle fails to accelerate when coming of a turn, the accelerator pedal does not respond for several seconds, then the vehicle lunges forward. Ford was contacted and no fix for this problem. I think this is very dangerous.
There is a recall for the low pressure fuel pump that has been active since July of 2025 and there is still not resolution. This truck is not usable due to the issue.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at 55 mph, the vehicle lost power and stalled on several occasions, but the vehicle was restarted. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 25v455000 (fuel system, gasoline). The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who confirmed the parts were on back order. The dealer informed the contact about a diagnostic test. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.

I have a 2022 f150 2. 7l with 46000 miles. I have had issues with the truck ever since I bought it. The safety issue is a few things. One when I put it in reverse my truck shudders and acts like I pressed on the break really fast several times. I also havr an issue with a cold start when I start it up the truck it acts like it wants to die or looses rpms. I here a paddling coming from the intake valves possibly. Im not sure what part is broke but it makes a rattling sound. Iv brought it to the dealership that I bought the truck from and they say we domt notice anything and its been a struggle to get them to actually thoroughly look into it. Im concerned it will lead to an engine failure because it also loses power and wants to die at times. Iv taken excellent care of the truck and always change oil and any parts on time. It also when I put it in drive makes a loud clunk sound and has a very hard time shifting gears between 3 and 4. Very rough shifting and very concerning.
While proceeding through a four-way stop, my vehicle unexpectedly lost driveline engagement. The engine began free-spinning while still in "drive," and the truck stopped accelerating, leaving me stranded in the middle of the intersection. I had to shift repeatedly between park and drive before the vehicle would respond and move again. This is not an isolated incident. The same failure occurred previously in early 2024. The vehicle has also exhibited persistent transmission issues, including gear hunting and harsh downshifts, particularly a hard clunk during the 4–3 shift on deceleration. The dealer has dismissed these symptoms in the past, stating it was due to the transmission being "cold. " however, the intermittent loss of driveline engagement presents a serious safety risk to myself and others, especially when it occurs in active traffic situations. This is the second time the vehicle has left me stranded without warning. I’m extremely concerned that Ford has not addressed this recurring safety issue. The condition is unpredictable and dangerous. Immediate investigation and corrective action are needed.

Vehicle stalls out every 3-5 minutes after starting. Vehicle stops and will restart after start up but will only once again run for 3-5 minutes. Vehicle is a hazard on the road as well to the passengers. Local Ford dealership and Ford corp. Both admit there is a recall (25s75) on my 2022 F-150 but are unaware of how to repair the vehicle. I am to wait until Ford develops a solution. Unwilling to provide a loaner vehicle while Ford comes up with a solution. They told me 3-6 months.

On Sunday, [xxx], my truck spontaneously burst into flames while parked in my front yard. I had just returned from doing a number of errands. The truck had been running fine with no indications of a problem. I was outside tending to my smoker when I heard a sort of popping/crackling noise. I looked up at my truck approximately 40 feet away and saw flames shooting out from the engine bay through the hood gaps. I called 911 and attempted to douse the flames with a powder fire extinguisher with no luck. By the time the fire department arrived 15 minutes later or so, the truck was fully involved and burnt to the frame. I didn't smell gasoline during the initial startup, but a strong smell of burning wires. The concerns are of course for my safety and that of my family. It was just luck that the truck was parked in the front yard rather than next to my house where it's normally parked. We were have a sidewalk put in and thus my normal parking space wasn't available. I could've been driving at the time and with the speed of this fire, I'm not confident I would've been able to get out. The truck has been seen by the insurance company and is being towed out of my yard sometime today may 29th, 2025. I don't know where it will towed to. I have pictures and videos detailing the fire and it's progression. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
Issue: some 2021-2023 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 3. 3l engine may exhibit an illuminated mil in the instrument panel cluster (ipc) with otc p0171 stored in the powertrain control module (pcm). This may be due to the software level of the pcm. To correct this issue, follow the service procedure to reprogram the pcm to the latest software level using the Ford diagnosis and repair system (fors). Description: 2021-2023 F-150 3. Reprogram the appropriate modules as required by the software update and service procedure (do not use with any other labbr operations) Ford has current recalls for this issue but my vehicle was not included.
I bought a used Ford F-150 from Toyota used care dealership on [xxx]. On [xxx] while vehicle was being driven on [xxx], north of santa clarita, on the way down to san diego. I was in the backseat, my friend who was the driver notified me. That we had to pull over and check because he was noticing smoke, then we pulled over and the truck was leaking a fluid that was on fire for about 20 minutes. We had exited the vehicle, called 911, the fire then stopped after about 20 minutes. The fire department came and then put out a small fire within the truck. We then had to wait on the side of the rode for 5 hours waiting for a tow truck to pull the truck. I got the truck towed to a Ford service center because the truck still had new vehicle manufacturer warranty with Ford. The truck was given full warranty and Ford covered the damages and fixed the vehicle giving it the green light in there service report. I then waited until March 4th 2025 to receive my truck back. On [xxx], the truck was being driven down southband the [xxx], on the [xxx], again due to smoke and also hearing a loud banging, my friends had to pull over and the truck is going to be towed to the service center which it was first fixed. There are times that my 2022 Ford f150 powerboost will not accelerate. Mostly if I roll in a turn and press on the gas pedal. I don't hear anything, like it's a auto/stop issue. I'll have to come to a complete stop, or I'll have to leave my foot on the pedal, then it's like it kicks on with high rpm. There's no warning lights or messages. This time while I was on the highway during stop and go traffic.
After driving home from work on 12/20/24 the truck was parked at ~10pm. At ~1am on 12/21/24, I was alerted that the truck was on fire. I found the vehicle fully engulfed in the hood and cab area. There was no prior indication of a problem or issue. The truck was fully destroyed and my home and Jeep were damaged. My home was damaged and only saved because I brought my garden hose out and sprayed the house until the local fd arrived. The local fire investigator and the insurance fire investigator could it definitively identify how/why the truck caught fire and burned up.
At idle, the vehicle will shutter and idle rough, nearly stalling in traffic. I have taken it to the dealership twice to two separate dealerships and it's under factory warranty and they have no repair or fix for the problem.
Loss of acceleration in 2022 Ford F-150 powerboost hybrid I am writing to report a safety issue with my 2022 Ford F-150 powerboost hybrid, which has been experiencing acceleration lag and loss of power during regular driving conditions. Component/system that failed: the powertrain system, specifically related to the integration between the electric motor and gasoline engine, appears to be malfunctioning. This issue primarily affects the vehicle's ability to accelerate after a stop or during turns. Safety risk: the loss of acceleration poses a significant safety risk to both myself and others on the road. The delay in throttle response has caused the truck to remain in a low gear for several seconds, even with the accelerator fully pressed. This issue has occurred while merging onto highways, when moving through intersections, where quick acceleration is necessary to avoid collisions and a simply stop signs taking a turn where I'm not able to accelerate after. The delay increases the likelihood of rear-end collisions and creates dangerous situations, especially in heavy traffic. The problem has been reproduced by a dealer and many other owners have reported the same issue. I'm hoping that Ford has releases powertrain control module (pcm) update aimed at addressing this, but the issue persists for many, including myself after recent pcm updates. The vehicle has been formally inspected by my local Ford dealership. They will be applying a pcm update on 10/10/2024. There were no warning lamps or error messages that appeared before or during the incidents. The problem occurs unexpectedly, usually when I press the accelerator, particularly in eco or normal driving modes. The issue has been less frequent in sport and tow/haul modes, but this results in increased fuel consumption, which negates the advantages of the hybrid system.
When driving the vehicle shut off power for 5sec but doesn’t shut off vehicle (all electrical off ) then kick back on ,idling high.
The front of the truck started smoking when it was pulled over at a gas station on 07/26/2024, the hood was too hot to open, and the front of the truck proceeded to start on fire. It took the fire department 20 minutes to arrive on the scene at which point there was not much left of the front of the truck. Everyone was able to get out of the vehicle and no injuries occurred. The truck is obviously totaled, but we are unaware as what caused this truck to blow up.
After coasting or turning I lose all ability to accelerate for a short period of time. When trying to merge the truck fails to speed up causing a dangerous situation where traffic jams up behind you.
Vehicle's engine will not start. When attempting to start, it will turn on all usual electrical components, but will immediately show an warning message to "stop safely now" along with an engine light of a red outlined truck with exclamation mark. Followed by a message of accessory mode on, however the engine will not start with no access to power steering or shifting gears. Normal attempts to jump start or charge the battery will not work. All fuses and harness connections appear to be normal. After researching Ford community forums, this appears to be a common complaint in the powerboost hybrid 2021-2022 Ford F-150s. Extremely inconvenient as this situation has left us stranded several hours from home with no reasonable solution other than to tow to a dealership. We hope our message helps encourage Ford motor to continue researching the issue and come with a reasonable solution for all effected.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle in a driveway, it failed to turn over and start. The contact depressed the brake pedal and the start-stop button again, but it failed to start. After another attempt, the vehicle restarted, inadvertently accelrated, and crashed into a wooden fence. There were no reported injuries. There was no air bag deployment, fire, or police report filed. The vehicle was towed to a body shop. The contact called the local dealer, who referred him to the manufacturer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and referred to the NHTSA hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 12,000. The VIN was not available.

On January 20, 2024 I serviced my F-150 due to a malfunction. The dtc code came back as p0a1e-00. This is for the starter/generator control module. The belt and starter were reaplaced. The code appeared again on 12/21/24 2 times, 12/25/24, 12/26/24 2 times. I brought this back to the dealer on 12/19/2024. 12/26/2024, 12/27/2024. Somehow there was a TSB which I cannot acces that information, but this mentioned to test the battery. My battery failed. I paid for the diagnostics and battery. Then 3 hours later on 12/26 my tuck went into a powersave mode. This time I brought it back on 12/27/2024, and got a call form the dealer on 12/31 that the replacement battery was defective. This was replaced. I am trying to find out why my battery died after only 2 years. Also since my dtc is related to the charging system, this could ptentially damage my battery. And they also replaced it with a defective battery. Ironically, there is a current recall of over 20,000 batteries being defective from Ford. I mentioned all of this to dealer and Ford directly, and no one can give me a straight answer of what it says to fix my issue.
Vehicle will not start. Get "stop safely now" message. It is 16 degrees outside. What if this had happened while I was out. This would be a life threatening problem. This appears to be a known issue, but Ford has not fixed it. There are hundreds of reports on various forums of the same problem.
Reduce power warning, instrument cluster is black, extremely loud pulse noise from radio that can not be turned off , catalytic converter issue ( ck engine light ) stalled in traffic. And horrible fuel mileage. Nothing resolved from the dealer.
When sitting at a stop light/stop sign/a complete stop, the truck will switch to electric mode. . . After about five to seven seconds, the truck "jumps" -- if feels like you just got rear ended. Truck currently at the dealership with no known eta on repair.
While driving down the highway, my 2022 Ford F-150 tremor randomly caught on fire. I was driving down the highway and was flagged down by other drivers to let me know the bottom of the truck was on fire. I pulled over and luckily someone had a fire extinguisher and we were able to get the fire under control. The fire department was also called and they also helped put out the fire after their arrival. The truck has always been serviced at a Ford dealer and had gone in for an oil change less than 350 miles prior to the truck catching fire.
I had warranty work done on a trailer brake module on October 23, 2023. About 3 weeks after that it seemed like my transmission was a little rough. Then Nov. 6, I had several incidences where I was at a stop, and it felt like someone hit me from behind and lurch my truck forward a little bit. It seems very dangerous. In case someone in a crosswalk is walking in front of me I could possibly hit them up. My Ford diagnostic tells me that it is the electric transmission fluid pump. There was no warning no lights lit up on my dashboard warning me that this would happened. After I started the motor the next morning, the check engine light came on. The next day I drove it for a short time around the block and the check engine light was not on. I drove it straight to the dealership and made an appointment to take it in. I have read several articles and forums complaining about the exact same thing recently. It seems as if there should be a recall on this issue. Another issue since I’ve had the truck brand new in July 2023 is it always skipped second gear which kind of makes it a little rough starting off.
My engine failed do to faulty valves at 42000 miles. A check engine light came on and I took it to nearest Ford dealership for repairs. It was originally missed diagnosed with faulty ignition coil on number 5 cylinder back in November 2023. Since then it has been determined to have issue mentioned above. They say they will need to replace entire engine. Not happy with this but what can an owner do. I have seen this has been common in other similar vehicles. Has Ford found and fixed the problem or will this again happen with the new engine they put in?.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked in the garage, the vehicle started without the key fob on three occasions. There were no warning lights illuminated. Additionally, the hood cover was missing when the vehicle was purchased. The contact purchased carbon pouches for the key fob and verified the vehicle did not start. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the failure was due to an unknown program. The dealer informed the contact that the vehicle was not manufactured with a hood cover. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The contacted stated that manufacturer was aware of the kind of failure that the vehicle had experienced. The failure mileage was approximately 12,000.
