What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? the rear backup camera fails to show in the display and/or freezes. This happens inconsistently so it is not easy to reproduce. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? when backing up and using the camera, when the camera feed freezes it could look like nothing is behind the vehicle. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? no has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? no were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? no. The problem has been happening since the vehicle was purchased.
I have a 2022 F-150 stx 4x4 with 47000 miles. It has been making a strange creaking/clicking/popping noise from the rear diff/axles when slowing to a stopped position and when accelerating from a stopped position. It is present during all drives. I am concerned that it within the drivetrain which gives me concern that it could cause to the vehicle and or passengers.
The display becomes unresponsive randomly and driver cannot use camera to reverse the vehicle until vehicle is completed turned off, locked and unlock it and start again. This creates a safety hazard in the middle of reversing vehicle and also creates a confusion while using navigation.
Fresh air intake cowling allows small debris to build up and does not allow consumer ability to clean/service it. This results in water backing up and spilling to ac filter and blower motor, thus leaking into passenger side of cab. Dealer and Ford state this is a non-warrantable item, and that the consumer should be aware to maintain it themselves despite being able to. Dealership also does not clean this during routine service, nor notify the consumer about it condition.
Cover for transmission/exhaust/engine on underside of vehicle tears at mount pint and hangs down and could completly tear away causing potential vehicle damge or damage to other vehicles on road. Problem is noted on internet forums as Ford's saggy diaper problem. Cover is made of a non durable foam-fabric material and is mounted by 4 screws and tears away by mount points and hangs down. This is 2nd time happening on truck, first time was replaced under warranty. Picutre is taken after I pushed it back into place but is still torn by mounting bolt and hangs down when driving. I ordered a replacement from amazon for $99. 99 and will attempt to repair myself.
Another Ford f150 supercrew leak from the front cowling area into the passenger floorboards. This is a 2022 hybrid f150 supercrew built during covid and purchased March 9, 2022. There are too many reports online of leaks due to lack of sealing components where large aluminum parts meet. For example the fender and the cowling area. This particular leak is having a dealership spend 17 book hours at $215 per hour plus parts to fix a defect in workmanship. Ford is offering to partailly pay for the fix since the vehicle is 6000 miles out of warranty. The fact it is a defect in workmanship is not a consideration. It was never sealed. Thank you.
Ear-splitting static-like noise upon starting the truck. Followed by loud static that would persist even when audio was turned off. Extremely distracting while driving. Took to dealer who said nothing to be done until Ford figures out a fix. Told me to keep checking back. No warning lamps or messages. I wish Ford to put a higher priority on fixing this issue. 2022 f150.
Engine shut down while traveling down a mountain with a 4. 8% grade at 50 mph; the transmission was in 3rd gear to contain the speed with no pressure on the brakes. There was an initial chime as when the vehicle is first turned on, followed by the wipers traveling halfway up the windshield, all screens went completely dark as if the vehicles key had also been turned off. Brakes were initially soft and then on subsequent push came back. Vehicle went through it's normal power up cycle and then engine restarted as I was still traveling at a good speed down the mountain. The engine has shut off on it's own before with all screens going dark while sitting at stop lights. To get it restarted I had to put the vehicle in park, press the brake and push the start button. I assumed this issue was with the auto start/stop feature and now always drive with it selected off. I've never had this issue with it off. This was the first time the issue happened while the truck was in gear and moving. The auto start/stop feature was on. For previous issues I've had the Ford dealership check it and no error codes or issues were found.
Vehicle loss of power!! after turning occasionally I will only have enough power to remain at low low speed. Sometimes having to pull over to side of the road because I can’t gain speed and traffic is coming quickly. Problem lasts 30 seconds or more before it kicks in. Doesn’t matter if my foot is pressed to the floor there is no response.
I have confirmed that my passenger side rear axle bolt has sheared off and I am concerned about the safety of driving my truck. I need a remedy, I have contacted asheville, nc Ford dealership, they said they would talk to a manager and get back to me. I am concerned about my safety with continued use of my new truck. I need Ford to take this matter seriously.
Panoramic sunroof spontaneously exploded while driving.
My truck has bluecruise technology. I have noted that the technology can be dangerous and drive me off the road, particularly in an area of an interstate I drive often. Each time I go through that area, it will drive me off the road if I don't catch it. Always in the same place and in the same way.
The display screen went black. Without it there is no back up camera ( and many other features). This is a king cab long bed. Very dangerous to drive without these important safety features working properly. The dealer says it is a “common problem”. It is a $1500 repair if it were not still under warranty.
The driver's side rear shock mounting bracket weld broke. This creates a suspension and safety problem as the rear bracket and shock are moving and could interfere with the wheel/axle. The problem was confirmed by a dealer and independent service center. An engineer from Ford motor CO. Inspected the failure. There were no warning or other symptoms of the problem other than a squeaking noise while driving.
Nhtsa states to file a complaint if there has been no remedy in reference to a safety recall in a timely manner. As of to date there is still an open recall on my truck and Ford has stated the recall is incomplete due to no remedy yet available. This recall has been in place since 12/22/23. My truck did have a broken hub bolt and I believe the dealership replaced the passenger rear axle hub. The dealership told me that this is only a temporary repair until Ford comes up with a remedy.
The climate control system will malfunction and make the cab of the truck unbearably hot, even to the point of physical discomfort at the feet of the driver. The air is so hot blowing on the drivers feet that I have to remove my feet from the pedals to cool. This is a major distraction to the driver. The dealer says this is normal. No warnings or alarm messages.
We have been stranded twice for the recall issued in late January 2024, for the rear axle. The truck is currently at the 5th dealership since january2024. The truck is not driveable and Ford still does not have a way to fix the issue. We are having the axle replaced for the second time by a Ford dealership, with no assurance that they have determined how to solve the problem. We picked the truck up from the last axle repair on 2-21-24. We had a rear wheel sensor issue on 3-6-24, after driving less than 1000 miles. On 3-28-24, the axle defect occurred again. The truck was towed again. The Ford website says they do not yet have a solution, yet their certified mechanics continue to “fix” the issue.
2022 Ford raptor. Oil leak passenger side vehicle, exhaust rattle while idle. Parked vehicle in garage smell oil inside garage, upon inspection found large oil leak on garage floor, when underneath vehicle and found oil leak from cover plate and front axle, steering components. Made a service appointment with local Ford dealership long lewis Ford prattville, al. Vehicle odometer reading on vehicle 17,388.
Recently completed the safety recall for my 2022 f150 axle bolt replacement. The dealer informed me that this is a "repair" and not a solution to why the axle bolt broke leading to replacement of both the left and right axle shafts. My dealer service manager told me Ford does not have a permanent "fix" to the axle bolt problem and will keep my recall service ticket open as this bolt may break again. I am concerned about my safety driving this truck now. Please assist with my issue and others who are experiencing this same problem.
The radio will make a loud popping static noise that is louder than a gun shot. Damaging to my ears and children.
Speakers (b&o) - I turned on the vehicle from a cold start and I began to hear what I thought was rats invading the rear interior of the vehicle, I heard a loud crunching noise. I turned the stereo down and it was not as pronounced. I began to drive and the sound continued loud cracking and soft at times coming from the front and rear speakers. It was annoying and very loud popping at times. It did not stop when I turned the radio down but it did stop when I got to my destination 10 minutes later. The issue has not reoccurred since but I feel like the rear speakers are not as loud as they once were. I did. It feel my safety was in jeopardy but the sounds was annoyingly loud. No warning lights came on and the Ford app stated there were no problems. I have not yet brought the vehicle I got the dealer. I will be scheduling in the coming days.
The attached document will explain in details about the back up failing on multiple occasions and Ford motor company has no fixes for this at this time. It is a safety concern due to the back up camera with small children around. This is the third apim module since Jan 2024. Now Ford says tells their dealers not to do anything with them to wait until around October or November and they will send out another bulletin on how to handle this problem. Then once that is done who knows how long it take. Big safety issue here. F150 is the number one selling truck on the road as Ford says so that makes this even a bigger issue.
Very loud pulsing/crackling noise coming from speakers. I was startled and had to pull over on busy highway to figure out what was happening. Thought truck was going to blow up.
Audio system creates loud pops and static noise, intermittent, continues with audio off, discontinues with vehicle off. Loud enough noise to be a hazard while driving.
Axle bolt was shredded off and making a clanking sound while driving. They replaced the axle. Should have gone ahead and replaced both sides because the other axle bolt will also break soon and is a huge liability.
Upon starting my pickup after work a loud static sounding noise was heard coming from the speakers in the rear doors and in the a pillars of the vehicle. I was unable to get the noise to stop even if the radio was turned off. I had no control of the volume coming out of the speakers and it seemed that it was as loud as they could go. The noise was not always constant, sometimes quieting down for 10 to 15 seconds at a time. However, I have a half hour drive to get home and this sound was continuous for the entire drive. The noise was loud enough that I feel hearing protection would be required to operate the vehicle. I drove the vehicle to the dealership where I had purchased it and made an appointment to have the issue resolved.
Again today 12/3/23 the sync 4 screen upon startup froze in a gray screen for minutes then restated rendering the federally mandated tear camera 100% inoperable. Nothing worked for minutes a safety hazard not being able to see and move.
Loud pop from sound system is back again, and did it so loud scared the crap out of a passenger, this is beyond dangerous, the software update didn’t work, Ford denies any issues at all exist on anything.
While driving down the highway, my 2022 Ford F-150 tremor randomly caught on fire. I was driving down the highway and was flagged down by other drivers to let me know the bottom of the truck was on fire. I pulled over and luckily someone had a fire extinguisher and we were able to get the fire under control. The fire department was also called and they also helped put out the fire after their arrival. The truck has always been serviced at a Ford dealer and had gone in for an oil change less than 350 miles prior to the truck catching fire.
Randomly and suddenly while driving on OH state route 98, my vehicle started a roaring audio expulsion that could not be stopped. It was coming from every speaker and at maximum volume and lasted for about 45 minute. I tried audio controls, I pulled over on the side of the road and shut down my vehicle. I opened my door to "complete" the computer shut off. I tried randomly pulling fuses to no avail. I did not have tools to remove the battery connection. It produced such power that a distinct odor of electrical fire was present. I did not witness flame, but I was very worried it was soon to happen. I drove to dealer. All controls seemed to work normally. The audio was dangerously loud and we recorded a video / audio.
When in my vehicle, there is a very loud pop and static that is sufficiently loud that it is startling and dangerous. I've experienced this issue 3 times now. I contacted Ford, and their support team just pointed me to my dealer. This issue will eventually cause someone to crash, lose hearing, cause a seizure, etc. . Very dangerous. After experiencing the issue, I began doing online searches and find that this issue has been reported across multiple platforms including news and forums. It appears that the issue exists with the b&o sound system. My dealer claimed they weren't sure what the problem was, but that they could take a look and try to figure it out. I think this is a serious enough issue that the Ford and the dealers should prioritize the repair as this is far more serious than an errant windshield wiper (one of the recalls).
Loud popping + static sound while car is on. Audio controls unresponsive, loud enough to cause hearing damage.
Max tow package 3/4 floating rear passenger side axle retention bolt twisted until snapped off. Only thing keeping the rear wheel/axle setup on the truck was the brake caliper. . . . Ford tech said they have so many in for this issue they don't have the parts in stock anymore. There was a recall issued for some 2021 models but this continues to effect 2022s and 2023s.
I placed groceries in my front trunk “frunk” and they shifted while trying to leave. Once shifted they hit the emergency release button inside the frunk which opened the frunk hood unexpectedly. These should be covered or less accessible inside the frunk.
Parked running boards do. Or always go up, lighting stays on for 10 min, have to go play with on/off over and over and to get it to shutoff. On the hwy bc shuts off out of nowhere, and ping pongs back and forth. Get messages saying drivetrain failure, steering failure go to the dealer naturally. Nothing wrong. This is a big pos.
