My windshield wipers were working on Dec 19th as we drove to the store. When we came back out the wipers or sprayer no longer worked. This caused extreme low visibility while driving on the street. Being an all electric vehicle I figured maybe it was a system malfunction. So I turned the car off to restart and still no fix. After doing some research and checking Ford website I found an open recall#22s71, for 2022 Ford f150s(including lightnings, which is my car). The recall is for the wiper motor failing. I called to check if my car was under the recall and was informed that my VIN was not apart of that recall. I explained that it seemed like the same issue but was told it did not matter. I took the truck to an automotive electrical shop and they have confirmed that it is indeed my wiper motor has failed.
Windshield wipers stop working for minutes at a time. Then work and pause off an on half way up the windshield. The tailgate won't stay up. It will drop open all on its own when driving even when it's locked.
My vehicle had a wiper motor recall that came out when I bought it. I had to wait 2 years for parts and I had it done in may of this year. Vehicle harldy sees any rain so the wipers have only been used a few times since then. Well today I was driving and it started to rain and the wipers wouldn't turn on. What's the point of a recall if they are just going to install more defective parts. Sad part is the original wiper motor worked with no problems. Also this engine has cylinder deactivation on it and is operating when it isn't suppose to. So if I'm accelerating from a dead stop it turns on cylinder deactivation and I loose power and acceleration. The Ford dealers and Ford customer service people don't care I have an unsafe vehicle.
About a year ago there was a wiper motor recall, bought jt in for that. Last few months wipers get “stuck” mid wipe for a few seconds and then rectify. Today wipers got stuck mid wipe indefinitely. I hit the button a few times and they completed the wipe. Annoying for a 2 year old vehicle , perhaps a problem with the recall replacement motors?.
The vents stop pushing air, regardless of setting, so windshield defroster does not work to clear the windshield of fog. Happens while driving and no adjustments to climate control change airflow unless I turn the car off and back on. Occurs infrequently and without clear cause. Dealership failed to reproduce the problem when I took it in.
I received a recall for a windshield wiper motor and took my vehicle to a dealership to have it fixed. Before I went I checked several times to ensure they had the part to perform the recall and they informed me they did. I took it in 01/19/2024 for the recall, waited two and an half hours and they never performed the recall. When I asked the dealership why they did not have an answer and said they would call me back. They have not as of 01/25/2024. I have in the mean time contacted Ford who said the recall should have been performed to take it to another dealership to have it done because it is an active recall. I just don’t understand how the dealership decided what Ford said was a recall did not need to be done and they are a Ford dealership.
I purchased a brand new metallic blue 2022 Ford f150 XLT supercrew fx4 off road edition from greenway Ford in orlando, FL on January 24 2023. I traded in a blue 2014 Ford f150 XLT that I had owned for 10 years and was for the most part, a reliable vehicle that I loved. The odometer on the new f150 read ~124 miles on it at the time of purchase. After several months into owning the vehicle the rear passenger window malfunctioned and would not go up. I took it to greenway Ford and they repaired it in a day under warranty and I didn’t think anything of it. As we entered the florida rainy season the truck developed a very faint musty smell. After several weeks of hard rains at the beginning of November 2023, I started to hear water sloshing along the sides of the truck. After inspecting the carpets under the floor mats I found them to be completely soaked. I took the truck to greenway Ford service center where they informed me that the windshield was not installed properly from the factory when the vehicle was built and has been accumulating water and not draining properly. I'm very concerned that there is mold in the vehicle as it still smells. The abs sensors were also not calibrated.
I brought this vehicle into 2 different Ford dealers to have the recall 22c22 (wiper motor) taken care of. Both dealers said my wiper motors were not part of the affected recall parts. My wipers had stopped working one time and this was reported to both the dealers and Ford. The dealers will not fix it without Ford's permission. Ford is telling me I must take it back to a dealer to see if they will fix it. Here is the quote from Ford, "since the vehicle is still having issues with the wiper motors not working, the dealership must assist. They need to inspect again and if they are refusing service you will need to find another dealer. I have been in touch with travis, and he stated same thing you first thing you told me that it had passed inspection. If they state that current malfunction is not related to the recall, then we can still review to see how we can help. The vehicle needs to be inspected again and if they refuse, go to another dealer and we can review again. ".
The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 22v842000 (visibility) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacture had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
Following automatic install of Ford power-up 4. 2. 4 on 6/9/23 center 12” infotainment display has been experiencing freeze ups, audio glitches, and video delays. This occurs most often when the rear back up camera is active. At times the rear backup camera video freezes or blanks out entirely. I have not yet contacted the automaker because they’ve not released any sort of update or comments dealing with the issue. The malfunction could pose a risk of collision as the rear camera becomes briefly unusable even while in motion.
Wipers nest down lower on the windshield when turned off. The wipers freeze to the windshield since they are below the defroster area causing them to stick and not operate in winter driving.
I ordered an f150 in March of 2022 the build date was April of 2022 it was apparently stored in a harsh environment for 10. 5 months it was January 31 of 2023 before I received the truck the windshield was pitted and visibility was diminished, especially with early or late sun there were also apparently chemicals on the inside of windshield that were difficult to remove even after 10+ attempts at cleaning. Complaint was filed through the mn attorney general office to Ford motor and nothing was done. I brought back to dealer on 4/24/23 windshield was finally changed on 5/19/23 visibility was definitely hindered and I feel all vehicles made and stored by Ford in this manner should be recalled and inspected.
Since first taking delivery of the vehicle, the front windshield has exhibited poor visibility and significant glare, especially in rain during the evening/night, due to what appears to be a film of some sort. The windshield impairs visibility to the extent that it scares me to drive in rain, producing a sort of cataract effect on your vision. My local Ford dealer in louisiana attempted to address by replacing the windshield wipers and cleaning the windshield on at least three separate occasions over the course of six months, yet the issue persists. Like another complainant with the same issue (NHTSA id no. 11524402), Ford stored my truck for months while awaiting chips to finish the vehicle. As of 6/21/23, my local dealer is communicating with corporate Ford regarding windshield replacement.
Ford dealership, soul lake Ford, in sour lake texas states that they will not order or make entry to fix a recall notice from Ford due to no parts available. So they stated wiper motor fails while in service they will repair as priority need. I stated the recall states failure can cause potential crash risk. They refused to put me on a repair call list. I call customer complaints at Ford and they didn’t resolve. So no to take care of recall.
Windshield wiper motor has been recalled with no "quick or timely" solution I ask Ford to provide a rental car until repair can be completed or buy back the truck. I tried to take to a Ford dealership but they keep saying there is no parts. Which I understand buy in the meantime I need a working car due to my work I can't have any active recalls.
Ford is non-responsive in fixing 3 recalls for my vehicle. I have been attempting to get a repair scheduled for over 6 months and keep getting told I will eventually get a call.
Within first two months of ownership of new F-150 lightning, we found the windshield is covered by or contains in its lamination far too many tiny bright dots, specks, or tiny pin point bubbles (say, on average, less than 1/4" apart) that appear and cause glare when the sun shines almost directly through them. This glare from the tiny defects makes it hard to see the full road, especially when the sun is low. I assume it is a manufacturing defect. Reported to Ford dealer back in December, 2022, but they never responded to me. And after windshield glass was replaced due to a rock hit with oem glass, it has the same sun glare with the tiny bubbles, so manufacturing is consistently bad? I think this could be a recall situation.
Windshield wiper doesn’t work into a raining time.
Windshield wipers stopped working. Restarted the truck and this happened repeatedly every 3-5 minutes. Electronic curtesy wiper control also disabled on the screen. (can't turn off function).
The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving in inclement weather, the windshield wipers inadvertently failed to function as needed. The contact stated that he checked the windshield wipers and noticed that the driver’s and passenger’s side woodruff key had separated. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred with the driver’s side woodruff key. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was advised to take the vehicle to the dealer for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 13,000.
Windshield wipers do not operate consistently. Initial problem was identified while driving; pressing the wash button resulted in water on the windshield mixing with dirt to create a lack of visibility issue, the wipers moved a few inches and stopped. Repeated attempts to turn wipers on and off eventually solved the problem. Condition is repeatable when cold, and intermittent after warm up. After a long delay and a replaced sccm, Ford returned vehicle only to encounter safety failure again during driving. There are no warning lamps to indicate a malfunction.
Twice I have been driving my 2022 Ford f150 and I have tried to turn the wipers on when it started raining, and the wipers did not move. 1) this initial time this happened was early spring 2022. I was driving in the freeway, and it started to rain. I was using the wipers on intermittent, and everything was fine. At some point I turned the wipers off because it stopped raining. When it started to rain again, I turned the wipers on, and nothing happened. I turned them on and off for the next hour or so, with no wiper action. Finally, after about 90 minutes I turned them on again and the wipers worked. 2) the second incident was on 9/17/2022. I was driving in the mountains when it started to rain. The wipers were working fine. The rain stopped, and I turned the wipers off. Then a downpour started. I tried to turn the on, and nothing happened. I turned the wipers on and off several time. Still no wiper action. This became a dangerous situation on a curvy mountain road. I should have stopped driving due to the lack of wiper action and the fact it was dusk and I was about out of daylight. I chose to drive on, but that was a reckless decision at best. About an hour later the wipers started to work again. I've taken the truck into crater lake Ford for the wipers. In the end, I gather they tested them, found they were working fine, and did nothing to fix the problem. I'm very concerned that I will get caught out in a rainstorm again and the same problem will happen again.
This brand new 2022 truck is less than a month old. Windshield wipers were turned on at normal speed (not intermittent) and the wipers froze at the vertical position. Adjusting the wipers control knob did nothing, and about 15 seconds later the wipers resumed proper function. Five minutes later, they froze again at the same position. This was very dangerous to lose visibility in a heavy rain.
Was driving vehicle at approximately 45mph, selected windshield sprayer to clean bugs off windshield, after a couple of full rotation of the windshield wipers, the passenger side wiper fell off and landed in spot that wipers stay while off. Upon inspection it appears that the affected wiper came apart where a spline disc that is supposed to be attached to wiper assembly, I pulled over and secured the loose parts before they slide off vehicle. The disc was still attached to the shaft that operates the wiper. In addition I found a key that apparently is part of the assembly, appears to have fell out and allowed components to separate. Obviously if this had occurred on highway at speed this could have been a hazard, as loose wiper blade might have departed vehicle and struck another vehicle or person. Not to mention the the loss of use during a rain storm would have caused visibility issues.
Ford is unable to correct the safety recall for the windshield wiper motor. Ford has sent out notice of recall with instructions to call them to correct on four + occasions. I have made four (4) attempts since the recall and two (2) dealerships in my area both have turned me away stating they would not be able to repair due to parts not being available, etc. . . The ability for the wipers to deactivate during rains/heavy rains would be a critical defect, placing drivers and other motorist, pedestrians at risks.
I was driving on the interstate at 60mph when we were caught in a downpour. We were pulling a 7000lb trailer and the windshield wipers completely stopped working. Visibility was virtually zero. I was in the right lane and was able to navigate to the shoulder. I could tell I was on the shoulder due to the rumble strips. Once on the shoulder I was able to get the wipers to reset and become functional again. Every time I get caught in rain I get to the right lane in case of a failure. The vehicle is available for inspection. Our safety was put at risk. The problem has not been reproduced but an appointment is scheduled with the dealership. The vehicle has not been inspected (not sure where to take it). There were no warnings prior to the failure.
I had just purchased my truck not even 30 days and the wipers went out. It was a very rainy day and the wipers just stopped. I had to pull over and get a tow truck to take me to the dealer. I was unable to see and almost hit a car parked on the side of the road because I could not see. I have talked to Ford and the dealer and they both tell me that this is an ongoing issue with no resolution. They have over 600 customers for the 2022 model year with the same issue on non working wipers . They told me it could be 2 to 8 months before they start producing wiper motors for repair. They suggest rainx until the issue is resolved??? my truck is currently parked in the dealer lot. This truck was not appart of the recall like my other truck was. Shouldnt this be part of the recall also and maybe a stop sale until they fix this?.
The computer/s that control every piece of equipment does not function as designed! the cruise control adjusted the speed (upward) without touching the controls. The lane keeping function will drag the truck into a turnout lane, left or right especially on a two lane highway with turn out lanes. The windshield wiper control has to be constantly manipulated to keep the windshield clean during snow and or rain storms. The instrument panel constantly changes which distracts the driver as so does the computer screen. The pre collision equipment works only sometimes. All the computers installed affect the function of other computers which causes driver distraction, like txt and driving.
Pushed washer fluid button in. Washer fluid came out but wipers did not engage like required. Tried turning wipers on in all positions got nothing. When left in on position wipers move in half inch increments but no more than 3” from home position. Took to local repair center but they cannot get new one. I’m aware of 2021 f150 doing same thing which there is a recall. Not sure what to do. Still driving car without proper safety equipment l.
Brand new truck, windshield wipers won't go on. Brought to dealer, said I need a new wiper motor. Parts on backorder with no eta. Dealer said pickup your truck if you need it and we will call you when part arrives.
3 weeks after purchasing my truck, I tried to turn on the windshield wipers and they did not work. Later that day I tried again and they worked. Fast forward 3 more weeks and now they do not work at all for. Sometimes I can spray windshield wiper fluid but it will not wipe. Other times spraying doesn’t work neither does the wipers. Been 2 days now. Appointment next week.
