Other Fuel System problem #1

I have a 2023 f150 powerboost. I slowed down to a yielding sign to turn right onto the state highway. The engine was in electric mode, I went to push the acceleration pedal and nothing happened. The truck would not accelerate for 4-5 seconds. I then put the accelerator pedal to the floor and it finally engaged and the truck flew. I’ve had it happen once before but for only a second so I thought nothing of it. It was a scary experience as I could have been hit if another drive wasn’t paying attention. I’m scared to drive it now, and have made an appointment with the local Ford dealership to diagnose. No engines lights are on. Only happens when stopping briefly.

Other Fuel System problem #2

While accelerating from a stop light, my 2023 F-150 powerboost failed to properly accelerate and my gas pedal stopped working around 20-25 mph. I reported this to the Ford dealership immediately and drove straight to service bay. The failure repeated 3-4 more time before arriving. There was no engine light or error code so the dealership couldn't "fix anything". 16 hours later, the truck engine struggled to stay running, my gas pedal wouldn't engage again, I couldn't accelerate, and I had it towed to the dealership. I'm being told the fuel pump driver module failed and that it's not covered under the powertrain warranty - my concern is that this failed module creates a significant safety risk which leaves the vehicle inoperable while driving but Ford is treating it as a minor failure and not covering under warranty.

Other Fuel System problem #3

The bolt related to this recall inevitably broke on 11/23/25 at 43,842 miles. Ford of upland took my truck and provided me with a loaner vehicle for about a month and a half, until demanding that I return the loaner vehicle. I had no choice but to take my truck back as I do not have a second vehicle, and they didn’t offer me a solution. At the time of writing this, I have put ~800 miles on the truck since the bolt sheared off. It is now making a terrible noise from the rear end, which I have expressed to Ford of upland, colley Ford, and Ford customer service. . With no resolve. Ford customer service told me over the phone that they are “hoping” to have the parts to fix my truck in q3 of this year (2026). I purchased this truck as it fit my everyday needs. I often tow which made this truck a good candidate. As I understand, the truck is not currently safe to drive, and definitely not capable of towing. Not having a capable truck is unacceptable. It seems that Ford is incapable of providing a reasonable solution. The truck has been “out of service” since 11/23/25, nearly 3 months at the time of writing this.

Other Fuel System problem #4

When I go to accelerate (not every time) (random times) from a near stop during a yielding situation, engine power hesitates to come back on. I've been nearly rear ended twice entering onto highways because of it. I have an appointment Friday with a dealership but they said that they may not be able to do anything for it. . . Im reporting this because that is not acceptable behavior from a dealership. Its a safety issue and its under warranty. . . . Fix it!! when this issue happens I can have the pedal full pressed and it takes several second for the engine to wake up from switching from electric to gas. . (im only able to move 1 to 3 mph). . Or if I want it to snap out of it sooner I rapidly press the accelerator in and out multiple times. . . . Both ways eventually kicks the engine power back on lunging the truck forward.

Other Fuel System problem #5

My car sometimes specially when I slow down and make turns it loose power and doesn’t respond to acceleration at all I have to wait 3 to 4 seconds to respond and this happens often a tok my truck to the Ford dealership serval times but always they say we didn’t find any problems with your truck and it’s very scary and dangerous if I am crossing a traffic light or a highway or passing another cars and happening there where I am gonna be in problem and more chances to crash.

Other Fuel System problem #6

On 7/18/25 I picked up F-150 from being repaired (failed belt drive generator/starter tensioner). About 3 hours later I was driving up a long grade at about 5,000 feet when I stopped to check on my cargo (a bicycle). At this point I noticed the cooling fans were running increasingly fast, much faster then they had ever run before. I checked the digital temperature gauge and it showed a normal temperature. I opened the hood and saw there was no coolant in the overflow bottle. I assumed the truck was just a bit low on coolant and I had some (5 liters) water with me so I added that to the overflow bottle. Very little water was visible in the overflow bottle. I replaced the cap, turned off the a/c and immediately headed back to the dealer. At no point did the check engine light come on. At no point did the temperature gauge move from the "normal" area. At no point did any warning message of any time appear on the driver display - unless it occured when I was refilling the overflow bottle. The engine was not operating normally however, the gas engine stayed on at all times and did not cycle on and off as it normally would do (truck is a hybrid). When I arrived at the dealer they attempted to fill the coolant system and said it was completely empty - no sign of the 5 liters of water I put into the system. The cause of the leak was identified as the eghr system, specifically the plastic coolant inlet port. This failure is discussed in Ford customer satisfaction program 24n04 - attached. This failure should not have occured. But when it did occur the vehcile should have warned the driver that a serious overheating event was occuring. No mil was set. No driver warners were made and the temperature gauge remained in the normal range at all times. The only way I because aware of the problem was by noticing the increasing speed of the cooling fans. This could lead to fire, or unexpected engine failure or burns from overheated radiator.

Other Fuel System problem #7

When pressing on the break to come to a stop pulling in parking space, my f150 quickly accelerated cause a crash into a building my 2 year old truck has been declared a total loss from insurance.

Other Fuel System problem #8

On [xxx] at [xxx] I dropped my wife and 2 children off at the funland arcade in deep creek, maryland. The parking lot was full from the holiday weekend and I was planning on taking the lightning to a nearby charger while the family gamed so I double parked perpendicular to the arcade entrance, put the hazards on, and let them out. After the 3 of them got out, I placed the lightning in reverse to back up 5-10 feet so that I could exit the parking lot through the same way I came in. Once I had enough space from reversing so I could make the turn to exit I placed the lighting in drive. The moment the lightning switched to drive it accelerated at a very high speed as if I was flooring the gas pedal, which I was not. The lightning was in one-petal mode which I always use unless I’m on a highway. I immediately began pumping the brakes but the truck would not stop, I probably slammed on the brake petal 4-5 times to no avail. I even tried shifting the truck back into park but it would not shift out of drive. I was able to luckily steer the truck into a hillside approximately 150 feet away. The truck ran over numerous small trees and shrubs before crashing to a stop approximately 16 feet up the hill. Shortly after the shock wore off, I slowly reversed the truck down the hill, exited the truck, and informed dozens of onlookers who came out of the arcade to see what the noise in the parking lot was from, that the truck just took off on its own but that I was fine. I called 911 and the police came. Luckily no people or vehicles were between the arcade entrance and the hillside or the outcome would have been significantly worse. This crash was witnessed first hand by wife and 2 children. I have grave safety concerns about this truck now and will not put my family or self back in it until Ford fixes this problem. I am making this complaint in case this information can help prevent future crashes of this vehicle. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

Safety defect: 4-6 second engine power loss/stalling while driving life threating incident (recorded by Ford via phone call)semi truck nearly collided with us as well as multiple other near misses road rage honking and obscene gestures all of which has my 13 year old son terrified to ride in the truck. Other Fuel System problem #10

I was driving down the road at approximately 35mph. The vehicle began to sputter and then started loosing power. I was only able to drive approximately another 150 meters and get over to the shoulder of the road. Once stopped the vehicle stopped running all together. The vehicle did have power but only to the electronics. The engine had shut down. I shut off the vehicle all the way and then restarted. It ran fine after that. This was on 01/29/2025. The vehicle had a previous instance where it did not start. It would crank the motor for approximately 6 to 8 seconds, the engine would fire and then shut off after about 1-2 seconds. The fuse box and wiring harness have both been replaced and the vehicle still seems to be having issues that could cause major damage and or injuries/death to the occupants.

Other Fuel System problem #11

Available for inspection. The "brain" of the truck is in the stereo system. The time on the call varies, but, the call will drop the bluetooth or wired connection with the truck, the radio will reset, and go to a broadcast radio station, from which it will stay for about 5-30 seconds while resetting, and then the call will recommence on the in-house system again. Neither party knows until I start hollering that the call has been dropped. I have checked with apple, and there are no issues with it, and all updates have been completed. During the call with the tech people at Ford, the tech said it is a known problem. The truck has been in the shop on several occasions at Ford villages and in ocala, florida, starting in February 2025. On 3/14/25, eight modules had to be updated & I was assured that it would fix the issue. After is was dropped it off, it happened again. I took it back on 3/21, and this time they said they could not duplicate the problem. Furthermore, the issue would need to be fixed, most likely by an over-the-air update. On the way home, I called my brother, and it happened not more than ten minutes out of the shop! 3/25/2025, I contacted Ford again through their customer service line and told them I wanted to start the lemon law buyback process. A few days later, I got a call back – denied. I am going through the lemon law process now. They offered a $4k buyback, which I soundly rejected as an insult. Regardless, this truck is unsafe to operate due to the distractions that are created by the unreliability of the carplay system. I have ended up in a ditch, almost ran off the road by other drivers and various other close calls, all because I have had to adjust the phone to where it would work while I am driving. Most likely the carplay (android-based) incompatibility with the apple software and users are made to suffer for it whatever it is, it must be immediately resolved. Consumers do not need to be caught in between the petty games. Still or moving.

Other Fuel System problem #12

“powertrain malfunction/reduced power” error message with accompanied vehicle propulsion reduction to approximately 5 mph.

Other Fuel System problem #13

While driving in sport mode multiple times, received "drive mode not available" message. Vehicle reverted to normal mode changing expected regeneration braking force. No other issues with the vehicle noted or stored in can. Seems to be a software glitch but arrives randomly and unexpectedly changes expected regenerative braking force requiring more driver input.

Other Fuel System problem #14

While driving on a wet road, a "frunk" open warning appeared to which I got out of the vehicle, opened the frunk and closed and it the warning went away. As I pulled away at about 25mph several warnings appeared and the vehicle lost power and shut off while on the road in a driving lane. Braking ability was greatly reduced and the vehicle continued to roll downhill with zero power, no lights worked, windows did not open then the vehicle suddenly shifted into park and came to a violent stop. I was stuck in the lane of a major roadway in the rain/fog with no lights, no hazard lights and the truck had zero power. A messaged was displayed on the infotainment screen of the vehicle which said "vehicle network communication error". Due to concern of my own safety, I exited the vehicle and stood on the side of the road as not to get rear ended.

Other Fuel System problem #15

Aprox 1083 miles powertrain malfunction/ reduced power vehicle was on the dealer shop for 4days so far( still counting). . . Second time on a brand new vehicle with a little bit more than 1000 miles not able to drive a vehicle after 15 min, very unsafe.

Other Fuel System problem #16

Purchased the new truck 12/21/23 within a week or two all the adas signals and chimes continued to flash. A sensor was ordered and arrived months later and was installed. The problems never stopped. Besides the signals all flashing my blind spot in my mirrors stopped working. The dangerous issue is that while I am driving all of a sudden at any given moment my vehicle loses power and it stops accelerating. I am afraid to drive my new vehicle because I am affraid of pulling out of my driveway or driving on the highway trying to change lanes I am going to lose power and get hit by someone. This truck is not safe to drive.

Other Fuel System problem #17

I purchased the truck 2 weeks ago brand new and it has a total of 570 miles on it. After not being used for on day, the truck would not start at all. I receive a warning indicating that I should stop safely now, that full power accessory mode is on and a check engine light. I connected a obd scanner but no codes were generated. The truck should no signs of a dead battery as all electrical functioned other than starting the hybrid electric engine. I contacted a dealership who informed me that I had to have the vehicle towed to them at my expense. I tried multiple times to start the truck again with the same results. While waiting for the tow truck (40 minutes later), I tried again and the vehicle started. There appear to be many claims of this same behavior related to the Ford powerboost engine for several years which I was unaware of prior to purchase. This level of insecurity should have no place when purchasing a brand new $80k automobile as my 13 year old daughter was left stranded as a result.

Other Fuel System problem #18

Vehicle malfunctions at start-up. Will not turn on and displays "stop safely now" message. Has also thrown codes for low battery voltage that simply disappear. Vehicle malfunction at start-up does not throw code.

Other Fuel System problem #19

My f150 was purchased new and I have had it about 3 weeks. It has 1400 miles on it. Sunday afternoon April 30 2023 I could not start my f 150. There was a warning stop safely now and the car would not activate the engine, or disengage the parking brake. I turned everything off and waited a few minutes then tried to activate my f150 again. Again the car was bricked. The next morning may 1 at 8 am the car functioned and normally. I contacted a Ford dealer and was advised to make a service appointment. I did and took the f 150 in for service may 2 2023. It is now at a dealership for diagnostics. Had I been at 70 mph on teh interstate with a warning like stop safely now and then been stranded that could have been very hazardous.
