The contact stated that he was a valet parking attendant. The contact stated that while parking a 2023 Ford F-150, the column shift was able to shift without pulling the handle back or depressing the brake pedal. The contact also stated that while driving at 2 mph, the gear shifter was able to shift into reverse before stopping. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact also stated that the failure occurred when he drove a 2025 Ford F-150. The dealer was not contacted, and there was no inquiry about whether the vehicle was operating normally. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The failure mileage was unavailable. The VIN was unavailable.

2 Automatic Transmission Column Shift problem

Failure Date: 04/28/2025

The contact owns a 2023 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact noticed that the button located on the shift lever had detached. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the transmission control module had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.
