3 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 04/30/2026

Harsh or erratic shifts: extremely hard shifts, and harsh downshifts. Delayed engagement: a long delay when shifting from park or reverse to drive, often with a "thud" or high revving before engagement. "neutral-out" feeling: the transmission feels like it drops to neutral while driving, or slips (rpm flare) before catching a gear. Harsh electric-to-gas transition: in powerboost models, the transition between electric and gas power is harsh and aggressive.

4 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 04/20/2026

My 2023 Ford F-150 is not drivable due to Ford safety recall 25s82 / NHTSA 25v512. Dealer states parts are on national backorder and Ford customer relationship center said they cannot escalate internally, only forward comments to the dealer. I drive approximately 1,000 miles per week and the dealer-provided loaner requires swaps every 1,000 miles. Ford has not provided a reasonable recall remedy timeline or long-term transportation solution.

5 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 04/16/2026

Vehicle shudders under load with harsh/jerky shifts especially when downshifting as the vehicle slows down. Sometimes there is a hard bang when downshifting from 4 to 3. The 10r80 transmission has a reputation for these issues. I took it into the Ford dealer for service and they found that the tcc solenoid was scored, fine metal shavings were found in the fluid indicating a torque converter failure, and the cdf drum was replaced because of a misaligned bushing. Luckily this vehicle is still under factory warranty but these issues are very prevalent.

6 Power Train problem

The dealer was contacted and confirmed that the part was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.

7 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 04/04/2026

Recall number: 23s65 issued 12-22-2023 parts are still not available. Ford company does not seem to be making any effort at all to fix this safety recall. Dealers I've contacted have no idea when parts will be available. This is unacceptable.

8 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2026

The contact owns a 2023 Ford F-150. The contact received notifications of NHTSA campaign numbers : 25v512000 (power train) and 26v104000 (electrical system, exterior lighting); however, the parts to do the recall repairs were not yet available. The dealer confirmed that parts were not yet available for the repairs. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. The failure mileage was unavailable.

9 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 03/31/2026

I own a 2023 Ford F-150 lightning, with 48,200 miles and 2. 5 years of ownership. Recently, my truck began displaying a “powertrain / reduced power” warning while driving, and the air conditioning stopped producing cold air. The dealer scanned the vehicle and found dtc p0534 – a/c system charge loss. Further diagnostics indicated that multiple vehicle modules may require reprogramming and software updates. The dealer stated they need to evacuate and recharge the ac system, add dye, and remove front trunk components to locate the leak. This ac system is part of the high-voltage battery and edrive thermal management system, meaning that failure of the hvac system affects battery cooling and powertrain performance. Loss of cabin cooling is a symptom of a thermal system malfunction, which can lead to battery overheating, powertrain derating, and reduced driving performance. The combination of unexpected reduced power and loss of cabin cooling creates a safety risk, particularly during highway driving, merging, or situations requiring acceleration. These failures occurred at relatively low mileage and are associated with the high-voltage ev system, which should be functioning properly to ensure safe vehicle operation. I am submitting this complaint to report a potential safety defect with the 2023 Ford F-150 lightning affecting the battery thermal management, high-voltage ac system, and edrive components, which can result in sudden power loss and compromised vehicle safety.

10 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 03/27/2026

I contacted the local Ford dealer, seekins in fairbanks alaska. The dealership wanted to make an appointment to address the recalls next December -- this April 2026. What's the point of a safety recall if they won't timely address them?.

14 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 03/10/2026

When taking a turn from one street to another, my truck made a loud noise and every light went on my dash. A bunch of error messages then my truck stopped and could not move anymore. It could not shift either. I ws stuck in the middle of road then I had to pay to get it towed to the nearest Ford dealership on March 10th 2026. It is now may 5th. And I am still awaiting the fix of my truck. They say it is due to not having the parts to fix it. It is for the recall 25s82, but it is now almost 2 whole months with nothing.

15 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 03/09/2026

Recall number 25v512 was issued August 11, 2025. It is now seven months later and my local dealer is still unable to obtain the parts for this recall. My dealer is newberg Ford in newberg, or 97132.

16 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 03/04/2026

Vehicle has open unrepaired safety recall 25s82 / NHTSA 25v512 for rear axle hub bolt failure. Contacted [xxx] Ford in fort myers FL on two separate occasions. Both times told parts are unavailable and I would be placed on a callback list. No callback has been received. Recall remains unrepaired. VIN [xxx] . Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

17 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 03/03/2026

I am reporting a serious safety defect in my 2023 Ford F-150 platinum supercrew (ecoboost engine. The oil pressure warning light suddenly illuminated, indicating a loss of oil pressure. Immediately after, the engine suffered catastrophic failure (it "blew the engine"). At the same moment, with no input from me, the gear shifter automatically shifted from drive into park. This caused the transmission to lock up, resulting in violent skidding and the truck veering off the road. I was able to regain control and avoid a collision or rollover, but the incident created an imminent risk of serious injury or fatality, especially while towing. I have maintained it properly, never missed a payment on the $74,000 truck, and drove it cross-country from arizona to florida without prior issues. Ford motor company has claimed there were "70 warnings" prior to the failure, but I received **zero** dashboard warnings, lights, messages, or indications at any point leading up to or during the event. This is the second Ford F-150 I have owned with unexplained powertrain problems. I traded a 2018 F-150 for the platinum & it repeatedly stalled without reason & required the engine to cool before restarting; dealerships (FL & TN) could not fully diagnose it, with one suggesting an oil-pump-related overheating issue despite no warning lights. Repair estimates are extremely high: gator Ford quoted $17,000, brandon Ford quoted $14,000, veterans Ford quoted $12,000, and an independent shop quoted $12,000 (notably, the independent shop knew the dealership quotes without me providing them). I believe this points to a potential defect in the ecoboost engine's oil pump system (possibly excessive pressure or failure under load/towing) combined with an unintended shift-to-park function in the transmission/shifter electronics, creating a dangerous loss of control at highway speeds while towing. This combination of sudden engine seizure and automatic shift to park poses an unreasonable risk of crash.

18 Power Train problem

The contact stated that while stopped at a red light, there was an abnormal popping sound coming from the vehicle while depressing the accelerator pedal. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact was forced to place the vehicle into 4wd which allowed the contact to drive the vehicle; however, there was an abnormal grinding and popping sound coming from the vehicle. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and provided a case number. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 74,653.

19 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2026

Ford F-150 rear axle and hub replacement: it has been 130 days since I received safety recall notice 25s82 / NHTSA recall 25v512 from Ford stating parts were available and to contact my local dealer for repairs. I did so and they told me they do not have the parts I have followed up with them three times and I am still waiting for parts. Should these part fail on the highway it could leave me stranded or worst case scenario I could lose control and crash. I need NHTSA to put pressure on for to get this done!.

20 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 02/28/2026

Rear axle component failed on my 2023 Ford F-150 lariat. Vehicle completely lost mobility and would not move. We were stranded on a dangerous freeway exit. A recall repair for issue was performed. A second failure of the axle was later discovered during tire service. This is a repeat failure of a major drivetrain component and raises significant safety concerns. Additionally, the first failure was very traumatic. We had just left the funeral home preparing for my 15 year old daughters funeral. The freeway exit it left us stranded at was unsafe to remain in the vehicle. In order to be safe, we had to go stand in a cemetery. Having this component fail just after a year of being fixed is a serious ongoing safety concern.

22 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 02/09/2026

When in drive, the vehicle will roll backwards when on a slope if you do not have your foot on the break. The torque converter and control body has been replaced by gullo Ford of conroe TX. They state that I should use the auto break function. Ford itself states that I need to contact the dealer to rectify any problems with the vehicle. Ford refuses to do any additional work and state this is normal for this vehicle. This is a very dangerous situation for the vehicle if you are not paying attention or are not familiar with the vehicle.

24 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 01/29/2026

See attached document for complaint. On January 6th, I wrote to you expressing my concerns about Ford’s failure to address a known safety recall (safety recall notice #25s82/NHTSA recall 25v512) for my 2023 Ford F-150. To date, I have received no response to my initial inquiry which prompts me to send this second letter. In fact, I am writing this letter as I sit in my local Ford dealership for routine maintenance service. At check-in today, I again requested that they determine if my vehicle was in need of the repair specified in the safety recall. Again, I was told “sorry, but Ford is not sending us the necessary parts, so there is nothing we can do at this point”. They said that I should periodically check back with them. I reminded them that I was put on a waiting list for these parts. I have included a copy of my original letter to Ford, so I will not repeat all my concerns. I believe it is important to fully document the facts and my repeated attempts to resolve this matter so that there will be a clear trail of evidence should this unaddressed and known safety recall ever create subsequent safety issues for me or my family. How a company with the size and reputation of Ford can issue a safety recall and then not provide the means to correct a known safety problem is unfathomable. The safety recall notice clearly states that the vehicle “. . . May roll in park without the parking brake applied, or, alternatively, lose motive power, both of which can increase the risk of a crash”. It then goes on to state that “parts are now available to repair your vehicle”. Frankly, I do not know if parts are in fact available, but my dealership has made it clear that they are not getting these parts. It has now been three months since I first attempted to remedy this matter. For Ford to effectively ignore this known safety issue seems to me to create a serious potential for liability. However, I will leave that to legal counsel should this ever result in injury or accident to my family. Also, I called the Ford recall ass.

30 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 01/13/2026

I experience a failure related to manufacturer recall number23s65 NHTSA recall number23v896 recall status recall incomplete I had this recall completed 7/29/25 at faricy boys Ford in salida, CO on 01/13/2026 this repair/parts failed while I was traveling. I had to have my truck towed to phil long Ford in raton, nm for repair. I was told this was a result of the recall and it would be covered . However, they still cannot give me an eta for parts and repair. They also do not have rentals or loaners and there are no car rentals in raton, nm. Neither the dealership or Ford customer service have authorized a rental for me yet. I am a full time RV'er with my travel trailer parked in las cruces, nm for the winter. I returned here 1/14 by renting a uhaul van which was ridiculously expensive and have been here in las cruces since then, with no means of transportation. The dealership initially told me the last one of these recalls took 5 weeks for parts. When the parts fail the rear axle disengages from the drive line. You cannot move, and in park the truck rolls. This recall has been going for a couple of years and there are no replacement parts available. I will need transportation to move my trailer to a new job in colorado before the end of April. Thanks for your attention to this matter.

31 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 01/10/2026

On 3 separate occasions, while traveling at highway speeds on the NJ garden state parkway in the left lane, my truck’s service engine light soon wrench would come on out of nowhere, the throttle would cut out, and the gas pedal would go limp and unresponsive. The only way to get it operational again was to turn the truck off, let it sit for 10-15 min to drain the computers, and restart. Imagine doing 70-75 mph in the left most lane and you lose all throttle and have to get your vehicle all the way to the right shoulder without the ability to speed up to avoid being hit in the process. Now imagine that same thing happening 3 times within a month. The dealership found failed factory power train wiring and a failed gateway module. This truck’s a 2023 with 50k highway miles. Shouldn’t be failing like this. Now it’s been at the dealership for 3 weeks…. .
