Recall reference number: 23s65 potential of a rear-axle hub bolt break that can lead to a loss of vehicle power and the ability to maintain park. Ford has still not came up with a fix for this.
The contact owns a 2023 Ford F-150 equipped with an oem jack. The contact stated that while her husband was replacing the passenger's side rear tire and using the jack for the first time, the jack bent, causing the vehicle to collapse onto the rotors. There was no injury sustained. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was inspected, and the dealer informed the contact that there was no damage to the vehicle. The jack was replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 12,630.
My vehicle is a Ford f150 lightning, a battery electric vehicle. As this is an electric vehicle, the vehicle has a large frunk available for cargo storage. Within the frunk there is an emergency hood release button that can be activated if a person became trapped inside the frunk. This button is located on the side of the cargo compartment and is in a position that makes it very easy to be activated while driving by shifting cargo within the frunk. On at least three occasions, I personally have experienced cargo shifting inside my frunk and activating the emergency hood release while driving. This results in the hood unlatching and multiple alarms going off inside the vehicle. Ford has evidently realized this design flaw, because mid-way through the 2023 model year they revised emergency release button to have a protective shield that prevents accidental presses from cargo. However, trucks built before then still have the flawed button.
I was stopped behind a car inside of a parking lot about 15 feet behind it and all of a sudden my engine rev up, accelerated unexpectedly, and the truck surged forward. I immediately put the brakes to the floorboard to try to stop the vehicle but it continued to lunge forward. I looked down for a split second and saw that my foot was completely on the break pedal to the floorboard. I that instant I tried to put it in neutral and I ended up putting it in park. Even though I try to stop, I ended up, hitting the car in front of me my truck is at the cerritos California Ford dealership. I reported it to Ford customer service with the same information about how it happened as above there were no warning lamps immediately after the accident happened within four hours, I drove my truck to the dealership after consulting with my insurance company and Ford customer service Ford customer service stated they wanted the truck at the dealership right away before any bodywork or repairs be completed from an outside collision center so they can inspect it.
2023 Ford f150 seemed to spontaneously ignite, resulting in total loss of f150 due to fire and extensive damage to a civilian pickup and trailer.
I bought my 2023 f150 August 31 2023 and a few days later with just 600 miles on it the air conditioner quit working. We were traveling and turned it off for a couple hours and when turned back on it worked. Called the salesman and he said there have other incidences. Today 7/01/24 it happened again, and opening the hood I saw that the air conditioning lines were frozen. If this issue with fan not blowing when needing the defroster there could be safety issues driving in freezing precipitation. Dealer could not replicate so said there was no problem. There were no warning lights with regard to this problem.
The contact owns a 2023 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle, the message trailer brake module fault was displayed on the instrument panel. The contact stated that the turn signals were blinking quickly. The dealer had been contacted to schedule an appointment, but the vehicle had not been taken to the dealer. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The contact found information regarding ssm: 52279/NHTSA id number: 10250833 (trailer hitches, unknown or other). The manufacturer had been informed of the failure and confirmed that the VIN was not included in a recall or in the ssm. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline to file a safety complaint. The failure mileage was 4,000.
My truck is brand new. The a/c lines and evaporator coil are freezing up when using the a/c, resulting in no air flow out of the vents in the cabin. I checked forums online and this has been a common problem with my vehicle yet Ford has filed no recall to fix it. Dealership states it’s a faulty temp sensor in the evaporator. Ford refuses to pay for the fix under the vehicle manufacturer warranty because no warning lights are displayed on your dash.
The infotainment/screen freezes every time the vehicle is started. This prevents the backup camera from working. The system reboots continuously for 2-30 minutes. Ford has said a software fix will resolve it in several months.
A/c unit has frozen up on my truck two times causing me to have to bring it to the delearship for repairs. This is a brand new vehicle and it gets extremely hot in texas and to have the a/c go out and no longer function is a serious health risk to me and my family.
Moonroof wind deflector detachment – request for inspection/assistance. Writing to report a recurring issue with the moonroof wind deflector on my 2023 Ford f150 platinum series. On two separate occasions, the deflector has detached while I was driving under normal conditions, at highway speeds. With no visible damage or signs of wear prior to the incidents. First occurrence June 2024 while driving up an on-ramp to highway estimated speed 45 mph entire part detached from my vehicle, was ran over by semi truck following behind my vehicle. My vehicle was under warranty part was replaced by Ford dealership on [xxx]. Second occurrence July 2025 while driving in heavy traffic on interstate, estimated speed 60 mph. Entire part detached and struck the vehicle behind me. A manufacturer part flying off your vehicle once is a freak incident. Safety issue. This has raised concerns for me regarding the safety and durability of the moonroof air deflector. Because of the risk of damage to my own vehicle, but also due to the potential hazard it poses to other drivers on the road. A detached part at highway speed could easily cause an serious accident or injury. The part appears to be inadequately secured to withstand wind forces during normal operation. I believe this may point to a design or manufacturer flaw and should warrant further investigation. Please let me know if you require any additional information. I would be happy to provide. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
My truck is 3 days old and the ac and defrost keeps going out when driving down the road. No warnings and no codes. This is a known issue by Ford on 2023 models and I demand that something is done!.
The ac stops blowing and cooling at an adequate speed after driving for a period of time. The safety issue is that while the blower is malfunctioning, it cannot defog/defrost the windshield.
After an hour or so of driving with the a/c on, it stops cooling and just blows hot air. The only remedy is to drive for 5-10 minutes without a/c and turn it back on. It will cool, but stop cooling after a shorter period of time. Truck had less than 2k miles when this happened and it was the first time using the a/c on a longer trip.
I was in the process of turning onto a two lane road when all of a sudden I heard an incredibly loud noise, much like speakers blowing out that seemed to be progressively getting louder. I remained calm. I tried to turn down volume on the speakers and it would not stop the loud sound. I put the truck in park and turned off the truck. That did not work so I turned it on and off again and the noise stopped. The volume was not working at all after this happened. I was completely confused because I didn't understand what happened or why. The sound was excruciating and fortunately when this happened I was able to safely put the truck in park and turn it on and off. If I were in traffic or driving that would probably not be possible. I can see this easily causing an accident if someone is in traffic and panics. I immediately called the dealer after this happened. They said they had not heard of this happening before. I presented them with this article I found in the wsj - "Ford confronts strange, ear-piercing static in F-150 trucks, drivers have complained to federal regulators of abnormal noise coming from the vehicle’s speakers", by ryan felton & nora eckert. This article states the noise was recorded so loud as to damage hearing. There are many complaints about this happening online as well and something should be done. This is without question a safety issue and there should be a mandatory recall.
After calling Ford to inquire about my F-150 being included in a customer satisfaction program (csp), I was told by Ford customer service that my F-150 is not included and to submit my request to the ntsb. There is an existing program (22g06) that affects the heated steering wheel in my F-150, but Ford is stating that the VIN of my truck isn't included in the program. My F-150 was also built in 2023 and has the parts necessary to complete this upgrade.
On trips over 100 miles or 45 minutes the a/c will freeze over and the blower motor will go to reduced speed and not blow cold. Checked pressures and they are to spec. Able to recreate issues repeatedly.
After driving on hwy for about 2 hours the air conditioning stops working or works intermittently. Noticed it started working again after stopping for a few minutes for highway construction but a few minutes after getting back on the road stopped working again. Evaporater may be freezing because I can hear the fan running on high but no air is coming out of vents. Not sure if TSB has been issued for this can be a safety issue as well because I cannot defog / defrost windshield or rear windows.
- component: air conditioning system. - safety: a/c failure in summer heat conditions over 90 degrees. - this a known Ford issue with thousands of complaints and not resolution. Ford does not want to repair issue. - Ford dealership - symptoms: ac blower can be heard ramping up but no air is coming through the vents. ** this an on-going issue with Ford that they are failing to rectify. My 2023 Ford F-150 has less than 7k miles and the a/c has already stopped functioning. The compressor and a/c components are freezing up and not allowing air into the cabin. This is a safety issue when temperatures are in the 90's in the south. Ford has not taken responsibility and has failed to correct the problem. There are several blogs and complaint websites with consumers complaining about the same issues. Something must done. I made an appointment and Ford did not want to repair. Please take action and issue a recall.
2023 F-150 with only 12k miles, air not blowing on a/c. No cold air blowing at all. Blower can be heard on but no flow. Happening intermittently and of course no defrost or defog when present affecting visibility. Issue described and reported by many drivers. Ford not acknowledging issue since not easy to replicate. Happens randomly.
Air conditioner will stop working after minutes of being on. This is not bearable in 95-110 degree weather.
When I started the vehicle the virtual instrument cluster was blank, therefore I could not tell how fast I was going, how many miles I could go before I needed to charge, start cruise control, and many other features only available on this screen. I tried to restart the vehicle, but the screen was still blank. Fortunately the screen worked again after I parked to go shopping for a period of time.
Randomly the ac line will freeze over and no air flow will come out of the vents although the fans can be heard working. Issues is not a simple thing to be duplicated and have brought it to 3 Ford locations and still having the issue. They won’t attempt to repair anything else that could be the issue like the compressor because of fear of Ford giving a bad review to the shop and mechanic. Just this week 2/28 I took the vehicle in while issue was happening and once the line defrosted and air flow came back I was again sent away because they could not replicate. This is a huge problem as I cannot defrost or defog my windshield in cold weather.
So I was driving for an hour & it felt like my ac went out. You could hear the ac blowing but it felt like it was restricted through the air vent. I had it on 7 & it felt like I had it on 1 the air was barely coming out. You could definitely hear the air trying to blow when I raised it up to 7 but no air was getting thru the vents. Felt like it clogged up. Also the temperature of the very little air that was coming through the vent was warm. So I had to lower down the windows just to get fresh air in the cab as my family was complaining it was getting hot. All of this happening at 550 miles.
We were sitting in a friends driveway with car running but not moving. My daughter opened the rear passenger door and there was a loud noise. It sounded like a gunshot. We finally figured out the sunroof had burst. It had left a huge hole in the sunroof and glass was everywhere. There was no warning for this and I have not driven the vehicle since the incident. (2 weeks ago) had we been moving and had my wife, 12 year old daughter and her friend in the car this could of put a lot of people in danger.
2 issues issue 1 cluster tripometer randomly resets miles and mpg. Images attached. . Read more...
In this vehicle the instrument panel is an electronic display. This display did not show any controls, speedometer, mileage, warning lights, etc. It was black, with only the backlight on. This morning (Jan 10) on my way to work I noticed my instrument panel was not working. The screen was completely black instead of displaying the normal information (charge level, speed, etc).
Instrument cluster would not function and was completely black. Had to pull the fuse to reset it.
Iwe four wheel drive system is engaging while driving the vehicle. Rough shaking in the front end of vehicle and grinding noise while driving. Ford has acknowledged there is a defect but the truck is operating normally and they are trying to fix the issue. Initially I was told it was unsafe to drive , but now that they do not know how to fix the issues they told me to just drive it until it completely breaks down. This is very unsafe. The vehicle is a 2023 f150 with 6,000 miles.
The screen in the dash consistently does not work. It's goes blank, turns blue, or continuously restarts. This screen contains the backup camera, backup camera for the pro trailer feature, climate controls, and radio. The wireless app projection also does not work. Unable to use rear view camera. Contacted Ford and was told this is "a nightmare" and "there are currently no known fixes". This is a known issue from Ford and causes significant risk to the consumer and other drivers on the road. I've contacted Ford corporate after my dealership could not help me and I was given the same response, but in more politically correct terms.
When it’s below freezing, I am experiencing a loud humming/rumbling noise while driving. It last for a mile or two then stop. I haven't drove the vehicle much in fear or damaging anything. There are 2 other vehicle in my area experiencing the same issue & they have the same vehicle. I've been to dealer, they werent able to duplicate the issue but informed me a sales advisor there with the same truck is also having this issue but havent found a fix as it continues to happen. There are many compliants and videos online regarding this issue. Ford need to open an inverstigation into this issue and provide a recall/remedy.
My truck worked fine for six months and then Ford did an update(power up) on December 14, 2023. On December 15, 2023 I took my truck to a dealership to find out why my phone, making and receiving calls, produced a static response. In order to make phone calls, I need to stop my vehicle, turn off the vehicle and open and close the door. Dealership techs had no idea why. Have talked to Ford motors half a dozen times since then and was told Ford is aware of the problem, most likely caused by the December 14, 2023 update. Six weeks later and each time I have called I'm told that Ford is working on it. My call yesterday left me with the impression that Ford isn't all that interested in resolving the matter. Why isn't there a recall on this problem, since I'm told the static on cell phone calls through the sync 4 system is quite common. Thank you.
The 360 camara does not always come on for several minutes after starting up. This prevents me from using the bachup canera and therefore I ciuld run over something or somebody when backing out of my garage or out if a parking spot. I have taken the truck in to to different dealers and all they say is they can't duplicate the problem. I even show them a viseo of it happening to me but say they have to see it to fix it. I see all of the Ford SUV's are on recall, so wht aren't the f150's? this is a very dangerous situation that needs to be corrected ASAP. I swe many owners on tge internet with the same problem. Please help!.
Truck is not capable of intermittent temperature settings. It is either hot or cold. Setting manually to 63 degrees and it’s blowing 80 degree air. The final setting, towards the colder option is lo, and that blows ambient air, in this case cold. So. You options are cold or hot making maintaining a reasonable temperature in the cabin and clear windows impossible.
Loud vibration while driving, similar to passing over a rumble strip, believed to originate from iwes operating in colder weather. Fear of damage from grinding parts effecting operation of 4wd system.
