1 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2021 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 03/18/2026

There is a warning on my dash when the vehicle is placed in reverse: reverse brake assist not available see manual. This concern has a TSB attached to it. My concern is that given the safety nature of this concern affecting f150s and Ford mustangs; this should be covered by the manufacturer and not the consumer. Ford will repair, however, invoice the customer for the cost which I do not agree with. I am not certain how many vehicles are affected or if it rises to the occasion of a safety recall; but should be investigated further. Thank you!.

2 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2024 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 03/04/2026

I was involved in a rear end collision where I was at fault. I suspect the adas in my 2024 F-150 malfunctioned because it did not prevent the collision. I impacted the rear of a minivan at approximately 20 mph. The adas did not take evasive action. Previously I have had nuisance activations of the visual and aural warnings for the pre-collision system, followed by a warning message that radar guided cruise control was not available.

3 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2021 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 03/03/2026

We left home and only made it about 100 yards. There was not a trailer attached. We had already stopped at a stop sign, then took off again. As we were going up a slight hill giving it a little gas, there was a loud thud and a sudden jolt, and the truck rapidly slowed down. I tried to give it gas to continued and the engine reved up, but our movement stopped. I realized that the emergency brake had engaged for some reason, so I pressed the button to turn it off, then we were able to continue. We haven't had anyone to look at it yet, and we haven't seen a recall yet.

4 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2021 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 03/03/2026

Giving an error of reverse assist and not available when starting truck and when placing truck in reverse. Have look up to seen if included in the recall that was issued 6 days ago. Have called dealership to confirm that not part of recall. The message just showed up last night. This truck should be included in the recall.

5 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2014 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 02/28/2026

My truck’s brakes failed unexpectedly. I know there’s been a recall on similar year and engine models for brake issues. Even though my VIN isn’t showing an open recall, I’d like this inspected because the failure feels identical to the recall problem.

6 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2025 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 02/09/2026

While backing at low speed in a residential driveway, the vehicle struck a parked car causing significant damage. No adas safety systems activated: reverse automatic braking did not engage, no parking sensor warnings sounded, no audible or visual alerts occurred. The vehicle made no attempt to slow or stop despite approaching a large stationary obstacle. The vehicle has two open unrepaired recalls at the time of incident: recall 25v488 (electronic brake booster): ebb module may shut off unexpectedly during adas use. The ebb is integral to the electronic braking system adas relies on to autonomously apply brakes. If faulted, reverse automatic braking cannot engage regardless of sensor detection. Software fix was available but never applied. Ford documented 37 warranty claims and one crash before issuing this recall. Recall 25v863 (integrated park module): may fail to lock into park. Remedy not yet available. The vehicle provided zero warning of degraded safety capability. No dashboard indicators or alerts that adas was unavailable. Multiple overlapping systems failed simultaneously suggesting cascading failure from the ebb fault or multiple independent defects. Ford ssms 52161, 49767, and 50360 document known lightning issues with inoperative park aid and reverse brake assist unavailability. The recall notice emphasizes brake pedal feel but does not clearly communicate that the defect can disable automatic emergency braking. Consumers may delay repair not realizing adas is compromised. Vehicle is available for inspection.

8 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2024 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 02/05/2026

I was in a accident where I was going a okay speed in traffic where suddenly the car in front of me brakes and my emergency brakes did not activate so I had to slam on mines to avoid impact but the car behind me hit me causing me to impact the car in front and with no airbag deployment from impact in back and front. Causing me later with neck and head pain.

9 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2021 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 01/23/2026

I was in the parking lot of my local grocery store, and the truck all of a sudden gave me an indicator that there is a "park brake fault-service now. " I was stranded and had to have someone pick me up for this, this is after hours so I cannot call the Ford dealership until the following day. I now see Ford issued a recall for this under 23s35. However, when I look up my VIN under Ford, that did not show, and thus, we did not address this earlier when that should have happened. That is a problem and needs to be addressed with Ford ASAP. What if I was driving and this happened??!!.

11 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2024 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 12/16/2025

I was attempting to leave a parking spot when while maneuvering the vehicle it suddenly and unexpectedly accelerated to a high speed into a tree. There is a police report and security video as the incident took place in a hospital parking lot. The truck is totaled and settled but insurance company not interested in liability. My wife and I were injured. I have no idea or explanation for the sudden acceleration. Nobody is investigating if there was a vehicle malfunction or not. I just want it documented somewhere in case it is happening a lot. The crash was violent and occurred from a near complete stop on a clear day with no distractions.

12 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2014 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 12/03/2025

I need to open a safety case. My 2014 Ford F-150 had recall 24s37 performed. Immediately after the recall, the steering locked, the truck stopped itself while still in drive, and a blue oil pressure warning light appeared. The vehicle is unsafe and cannot be driven out of my driveway. The dealership is refusing responsibility and wants to charge diagnostics. I need this inspected and towed under recall responsibility. ”.

13 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2021 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 12/01/2025

My truck thinks my parking brake is engaged so it constantly flashes the “brake” light, constantly chimes while driving and says parking break malfunction, talk to dealer. I brought it to webber family Ford in detroit lakes mn 56501 and they checked it over including the safety recall location for recall 23s35. They said it was not the recall location and I would have to bring it in Monday for another appointment. When I got it home that day I crawled under to check that location. I see visible green which usually means corrosion and the protection around the harness seems warm. I also noticed the "recall" was not completed how it is shown on Fords recall paperwork using the zip tie as a wear location so it isn't the harness itself. That is not how mine is. I have photos to prove that. I spoke with corporate Ford today and they said they can't re open the recall because it has been closed and it is past its 12 month warranty being it was done in October of 2023 before my ownership and at a different dealer. I don't believe it is fair to me the current owner to pay for the cost of a rerepair of a recall that was done incorrectly.

14 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2025 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 11/13/2025

The instrument panel was not going blank until the software update was completed now it malfunctions multiple times a day . The brake warning will appear randomly and without warning depicting "brake system fault" service required . "parking brake fault " service required immediately. In addition to the above issues the entire lighting/lamp system will turn off unwarranted at night while on auto . Reported multiple issues as described to autonation Ford and Ford credit. No resolution has been provided.

15 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2025 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 11/01/2025

This truck has had numerous messages on the dashboard stating reverse brake assist not available see manual. Have taken to the dealership and was told that there was no code and the couldn’t fix as the message wasn’t displayed. They said when it came on to bring it in. Long story short when message is displayed by the time you arrive it is gone. I have done the simple things like make sure sensors are clean, doors and hood is closed and the soft clear by unhooking the battery cable for 15 minutes. This whole mess started after a dash recall in the fall of 2025. What good is this for a safety feature to prevent reverse incidents if not working properly.

16 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2024 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 10/29/2025

I’ve now had two major safety issues with my 2024 Ford F-150 stx. 1. September 2025 – loss of acceleration while driving I was driving north at about 40 mph when my truck suddenly stopped accelerating. It felt like it went into neutral on its own. I pressed the gas and nothing happened — the truck just started coasting. There were no alerts, no warning lights, and no explanation. I had to safely pull off the road while the truck was basically free-rolling. 2. Most recent incident – emergency brakes slamming on in an empty parking lot when I was leaving a facility recently, I was driving slowly through an empty walgreens parking lot — no cars or obstacles anywhere around me. Out of nowhere, the truck’s emergency brakes slammed on extremely hard. It didn’t just happen once — the brakes locked up five times within about a minute while I was in drive. There were zero warning messages on the dash each time. The jolts were so violent that my son flew forward and hit the seat in front of him. My right leg slammed into the dash, and the impact was so strong I ended up in the er afterward with severe pain on my right side.

17 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2022 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 08/04/2025

Was stopped behind a car in line in the parking lot. The truck was in drive with the auto hold brake feature enabled. The auto hold disengaged and the car rolled forward rear ending the car in front of me. Collision alert didn't sound as expected. A similar recall came out August 6 for 2025 f150s.

18 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2020 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 07/17/2025

I have 2 problems with my vehicle that have been going on for a while now. First there is an existing recall for 2020 Ford f150's nhta 25v442 Ford 25s72. Pertaining to the sync 3 malfunctioning as Ford put it "Ford says that an error in the sync infotainment system could cause a blank image to be displayed while reversing, or the rear-view image may remain on display even after a driver has stopped reversing. " my vehicle is and has been doing this for a very long time. However, my vehicle VIN is not included in the recall. Though it should be since it is the exact same problem. The other safety issue I have is the front facing camera. It has completely stopped working quite some time ago. I asked Ford about it, and they told me they would have to charge me to look into it. I don't have the money to throw at problems that should be fixed under recall because they are safety issues. This camera not working shuts down the pre collision assist which is very dangerous. It also controls the auto hi and lo beam for seeing at night, and last but not least the cruise control doesn't work without it.

19 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2025 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 06/23/2025

While driving, a vehicle began stopping in front of me. I attempted to stop, however my braking power seemed heavily reduced. Eventually the emergency automatic braking kicked in and engaged my emergency brake. I barely stopped in time. Simultaneously, several warning lights appeared on my dash including abs, traction control, hill assist, and check engine. Immediately after the incident, my brake pedal felt loose. Braking power was severely diminished and delayed. Stopping while going a mere 5 mph would take about 10 yards. It was extremely dangerous and scary to operate - even to pull into the nearest safe parking lot. Upon restarting my vehicle twice, the lights went off except for the check engine light and my braking power returned.

20 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2024 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 06/15/2025

On [xxx], at approximately [xx], a deer unexpectedly ran out from the side of the road and struck the side of my vehicle. The deer ran out from a tree line that backs up to a neighborhood adjacent to [xxx] the deer was to the left, and the a-pillar blocked the view of the deer, which was traveling at relatively the same speed as the truck, which kept the deer in the blind spot until impact. Despite the impact, the crash avoidance system did not detect the animal, did not initiate braking, and did not provide any audible or visual alerts that an accident had occurred. The truck continued moving forward until I manually applied the brakes. The deer was relatively similar in size to a teenager, and all though the vehicle is not designed to detect animals, it is still concerning it did not even register the deer, did not do any evasive steering, did not apply brakes when the accident occurred, and did not even notify me of the accident before, during, or post crash event. With the advertised safety features on the truck, I worry that if this had been person, the truck would not have registered the person either. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

21 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2022 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 05/05/2025

This vehicle has random bursts and loss of power due to the transmission not shifting properly. There is a noise coming from the passenger front that may be tied to transmission failure. Pre collision assist isn’t working due to ecm problem.

22 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2023 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 04/17/2025

On three separate occasions when I open my door, I get a “brake fault service soon” notification. I’ve done research and forums say this was a recall in the past. I’m aware my truck doesn’t have any current recalls but it has me wondering if it was ever fixed or if the repair was not good enough. I never owned the vehicle when the original recall came out so I’m not too sure what happened.

23 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2008 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 04/04/2025

The truck has a body frame that was cracked in several spots and welded back together in more then 5 different spots and the welding job is very poor. The truck has a power steering line leak, cvs axle leaks and a exhaust manifold leak. The dealership fixed upper ball joints when we agreed on lower and upper in the front. They added a exhaust but did not do the job correctly with completing the job and the welding of it. Ive made a complaint with the loan company and I as well have talked to the owner of the dealership and he fights that none of those things are wrong with the truck and im lying but I have had a inspection done on the truck. When I got the truck I looked it over and so did my brother I pointed the issues of what needed fixed that I could see and that was not done. I then started having issues with the truck and took it to a mechaninc and had an inspection done.

25 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2024 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 03/05/2025

The weather was heavy rain. The road was a two lane rural roadway with a 35mph speed limit. There were no other vehicles present and there were no obstructions in the roadway. As I slowed approaching a stop sign, the collision warning system activated. Traction control activated. The vehicle began braking. The transmission put itself in park at ~15 mph. When the vehicle stopped moving it turned itself off. The vehicle came to a stop in the lane it was traveling in at the time it began to malfunction. The vehicle transmission would not come out of park. When I attempted to restart the vehicle it activated the horn until it was turned off again. Safety issue was the vehicle sudden stop and coming to rest in the travelled portion of the roadway. The vehicle was towed to battlefield Ford in culpeper va on the date of the incident ([xxx]) and it was returned to me on [xxx]. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

27 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2022 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 01/06/2025

I was driving around 35-40mph, slowing down, heading to a right hand turn lane. No vehicles in front of me. As I crossed over my lane into the turn lane my e-brake automatically came on and my pre collision braking light came on. No warning, nothing caused by me, and I have no clue how it happened. I had to physically pull the e-brake lever to release the brakes on a major road.

28 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2021 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 12/30/2024

I was traveling 47 mph and suddenly the parking brake was activated, causing the car to brake instantly. Luckily, no one was behind me and luckily it did not cause an accident. There were no lights on the dashboard. I took it to the Ford dealer to have it inspected and they gave me an appointment for 8 days later and let me go home knowing that I could not drive it since I almost caused an accident.

29 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2024 Ford F-150

31 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2012 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 10/30/2024

Driving home at approx. 50 mph my F-150 Ford downshifted into 1st gear for no reason? locking up the rear tires and slamming me forward. I put in my VIN number and found my truck is not part of Ford's recall for f 150's 2011 thru 2014. I don't know why it's not part of the recall ? the recall 19so7 describes what happened exactly. Ford said the dealers fixed this by reprogramming the tcu or transmission control module. I believe there is damage to the transmission. I took it to goode Ford in burley, idaho they said it has too many miles they would not even look at it ?.

32 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2022 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 10/18/2024

Three warnings light antilock brake fault, hill start assist warning, and pre-collision assist not available. Brakes failed. I was fortunate that no one was in front of me but the truck barely stopped. Took full pedal to the floor to force lockup. I am filing the matter as it does appear to be a frequently occurring concern in 2021 and 2022 models based on what I have read to date.

33 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2022 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 09/30/2024

VIN: [xxx] NHTSA recall number: 23v41800 manufacturer recall number: 23s30 my car has a current NHTSA, I have scheduled over 5 appointments to have Ford address the reverse lightbar replaced. And all 5 appointments have been unsuccessful at replacing the light since [xxx]. It is now October 2024, over 17 months since the NHTSA recall from June 2023. As of the date of this letter, my next appointment is schedule for [xxx], once again I called colonial Ford dealership in Plymouth, massachusetts to confirm my lightbar is available and the service advisor told me it is not in stock, and rescheduled me to [xxx]. This letter pursues, after several failed appointment and long wait times waiting to hear the part is on backorder for the last year. I am attaching proof all appointments and phone calls, and email notices of scheduled appointments, but were unsuccessful since the part is not in at the dealership. Over the course of the last year, I have called monthly and after receiving email and recall notices, and to no avail, each time I am told the part is on backorder and to call back. I continue to have problems with my taillight flickering, and problems with my reverse light for the last six months, recently a few weeks ago, I was given a warning by Plymouth police department in massachusetts. I explained and showed proof of the recall. I have patiently waited since I keep thinking it will be here next month, well it is now almost 1. 5 years later and the part is still on “backorder”. Patiently waiting is now a safety issue. I have explained to the service advisor that my car detects an accident collision because of the faulty light and Ford has failed to promptly address and replace the tail light. Please see Ford attached invoices addressing the collision detection malfunctioning from November 2023. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

34 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2021 Ford F-150

Continues issues with the electrical and hybrid system. This is the second time of complete vehicle failure, although the power steering went out completely and the automatic parking brake briefly activated before the truck completely failed / quit running.

35 Automatic Emergency Braking problem of the 2022 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 09/14/2024

On 14 September, at approximately 11am, I rear ended another vehicle a Honda pilot. I anticipated the vehicle in front of me pulling out into the intersection and took my eyes off that vehicle to look at vehicles approaching from my left. The vehicle in front of me stopped and I hit them moving less than 10 mph. The airbags didn't deploy and the people in both vehicles were fine. However, my 2022 Ford F-150 platinum is equipped with emergency braking and pre-collision safety features. They did not engage and I hit the vehicle. People cannot rely on these systems protecting them.
