Ford bluecruise steering oscillation •date/time: October 17, 8:00 pm •location: hempstead, texas •system: Ford bluecruise (hands?free lane?centering/driver?assist) bluecruise was engaged in hands?free mode when, without driver input, the system became confused and initiated repeated left/right steering corrections. The vehicle weaved within the lane several times in quick succession, requiring immediate intervention to maintain control and prevent a collision. After I took over, the vehicle tracked normally with manual steering. This behavior represents a serious safety hazard.
On October 13 at 9:23 pm in seguin, TX, with Ford bluecruise hands?free engaged, the vehicle abruptly steered strong left and headed toward the left barrier. I immediately overrode the system and steered back to avoid a collision. No impact occurred. The maneuver was sudden and without adequate warning, presenting a serious crash risk.
On October 12 at approximately 6:25 pm in texas city, TX, while Ford bluecruise (hands?free) was active, the vehicle abruptly steered left, crossing into the left lane toward the left?side barrier. I immediately took control and counter?steered to keep the vehicle in its lane and avoid a collision. No contact occurred, but the maneuver created an imminent risk of loss of control and impact with the barrier or another vehicle. This appears to be unsafe/erratic lane?centering behavior by bluecruise.
Ford bluecruise cut-in non-response incident date/time: September 29, 2025, ~6:15 pm location: us-290 east, near waller, texas vehicle: 2025 Ford F-150 lightning system: Ford bluecruise (hands-free driver assistance) while traveling eastbound on us-290 with bluecruise engaged (hands-free with lane centering and adaptive cruise), an 18-wheeler flatbed changed into my lane directly ahead. The system did not decelerate or otherwise respond to the cut-in and continued closing speed on the truck. After a couple of seconds, I manually and rapidly disengaged and braked to prevent a rear-end collision. No contact occurred, but the lack of deceleration created an immediate crash risk.
Front camera fault, service required, pre-collision avoidance not available. Lane departure warning fault, service required. This is an ongoing problem since date of purchase, 9/23/2025.

The weather was heavy rain. The road was a two lane rural roadway with a 35mph speed limit. There were no other vehicles present and there were no obstructions in the roadway. As I slowed approaching a stop sign, the collision warning system activated. Traction control activated. The vehicle began braking. The transmission put itself in park at ~15 mph. When the vehicle stopped moving it turned itself off. The vehicle came to a stop in the lane it was traveling in at the time it began to malfunction. The vehicle transmission would not come out of park. When I attempted to restart the vehicle it activated the horn until it was turned off again. Safety issue was the vehicle sudden stop and coming to rest in the travelled portion of the roadway. The vehicle was towed to battlefield Ford in culpeper va on the date of the incident ([xxx]) and it was returned to me on [xxx]. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

I started the truck and safety systems all shut down: blis, lane keeping, reverse sensing, advance track, rear cross, forward collision. . . Everything failed. It even turned my steering wheel to the right so it was not straight. I drove for about three miles, while stopped at a light a message said something about steering calibration and it straightened my steeling wheel to be back where is was supposed to be. The safety system shutdown has happened on three different dates.
Airbag warning failure a know issue with Ford F-150 and other products with the blind spot senor module in the rear tail lights. The vehicle has an issue with water or fluid leaking into the tail light housing causing many of the advanced features to stop working. The vehicle shows a blind spot sensor failure, cross traffic sensor failure, front windows will not operate, air conditioner stops working , radio works but nothing can be changed and worst of all the "the air bag failure warning light" comes on rendering the vehicle unsafe for roadway operations. The internet (you tube and other sites )document the failure and how to fix it. It is not confined to just my 2017 F-150 but plagues many other year and model Ford products. My truck is currently at bluebonnet motors the authorized and sales dealer for this truck, they have confirmed the issue and are awaiting parts to repair it. They have quoted about $1,850 for parts and labor. Charles the service writer and myself witnessed these failures in the service reception area while checking the truck in for service. This problem puts many people at risk (including myself) if they are unaware of the entire system failures. Should a crash occur the occupants may not be provided with air bag deployment , which could result in possible injuries or death. I have not been made aware of Ford motor company or the dealership acknowledging this serious safety concern.

The apim is completely nonfunctional. Screen is blank. Two dealers went through entire test protocol and arrived at this conclusion. Hence I have no camera or warning system, as well as no bluetooth for hands free communication. No gps. The truck only has about 1300 miles on it. I got it in March after waiting 9 months, and the system broke very soon thereafter. Ford must have known of these defective units because their failure is a common discussion topic on the internet. It took 6 weeks to get a dealer appointment to diagnose. Now I am told that replacement units are on "galactic" backorder. Ford must be penalized for delivering what they must have known to be a likely defective product. Without all the safety systems dependent on the apim, I and others are put at risk. Please do something to discourage selling vehicles that are known to carry likely safety feature failures.
While I was driving on Friday, my 2020 F-150 stalled. An error message popped up on the instrument cluster saying "auto startstop shift to p then restart". I restarted and it happened again. I then waited 10 minutes and restarted and it has not happened since. I took it to bob thomas service in hamden, CT today and they are saying they cannot find anything wrong. If I was on the highway or turning across traffic, stalling at that time could be disastrous or even fatal.
