Six problems related to seat belt have been reported for the 2000 Ford F-250. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Bought the truck 2000 Ford f250 used in 2006 and the seat belt retractor would not retract the belt when not in use. The belt would get caught in the door when it was closed. I would have to open the door to get the seat belt loose so it could be used. This problem makes using the seat belt a major problem each time I get into the truck. I bought a new belt and retractor from Ford for about $120 and it worked for about a month and it became the same as the old seat belt. This is a problem on all 2000 model trucks and Ford will not correct the problem. This problem causes you not to want to use the seat belt because of how much trouble it is to be used.
Tl-the contact owns a 2000 Ford F-250. The contact stated that the front driver's seat belt would experience difficulty latching into its buckle. The failure progressed until the seat belt would no longer remove from its buckle. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and the contact was informed that the seat belt buckle would needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and offered no assistance. The failure mileage was 120,000. Sm.
Seat belt on driver side will not latch every time.
The seat belt would not retract properly.
When the rear passenger seat belts are in use, they would tighten up for no reason. Would have no warning when this would happen. The locking mechanism on the seat would fail to release the belt. Would have cut the belt to release individual. Brakes were used at time of tightening incident. Took vehicle to dealer & mechanic ordered a new belt system for rear of vehicle.
Driver's automatic seat belt does not properly fit the driver, it comes across the neck and not the shoulder. Dealer states that thisis a manufactures design flaw. Please give any further details.
