One problem related to owners/service manual has been reported for the 2001 Ford F-250. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
There have been no incidents/accidents, however problem 2001 Ford f250 super duty pickup truck - owner's guide / manual states on page117 under the heading "tether anchorage hardware" -- (tether anchorage hardware kits (part number 613d74) including instructions, may be obtained at no charge from any Ford or Lincoln/Mercury dealer) per automotive dealership, part number is now obsolete; have investigated and found updated part # f81z5613d74aa. Ford customer service phone told me to call the dealer; dealer said part is approximately $80. 00; called Ford customer service back - they told me to call the service manager at the dealer to see if they could help. Ford did not have responsibility. Basicly I was told to pay for it or who cares? so far including this letter I now have 2+ hours invested into this issue. Unforturnately, most people would not take the time and this is why these issues exist in the first place. This should have been taken care of in 1-2 phone calls. Consequences could mean death of a child due to the child restraint seat not fastened into vehicle properly. Also, if information online is accurate, I'm not the only one who has experienced problems with this type of question / issue. Please look into this and hold these manufactures accountable to keep our children safe!.
