1 Seat Belt problem

Failure Date: 12/13/2017

Front passenger seat belt will disengage with out touching the release button. I have tried using high pressure air thinking it would dislodge something. Even tried a little wd-40 to no avail. Really frustrating to hear its not on the recall list for this model year. Dealerships sure don't act like they want to fix it. Has happened numerous times.

2 Seat Belt problem

Failure Date: 05/26/2017

The driver's side seat belt comes unbuckled without the latch being touched while driving. This results in an unsafe situation where the seat belt isn't providing any safety and it also requires two hands to re-buckle it taking my hands off the steering wheel. This happens while driving in my driveway, on city streets and highways. The problem has been happening soon after I bought the truck used on November 10, 2004.

4 Seat Belt problem

Failure Date: 07/24/2015

The contact owns a 2001 Ford F-250. While driving at various speeds, the front passenger side seat belt became detached. The failure recurred on numerous occasions. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the vehicle had already been through a recall and there was no defect. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 300,000.

5 Seat Belt problem

Failure Date: 10/07/2014

Driver seat belt comes unlatched for no apparent reason. There was a recall on these seat belts, but my VIN was not covered by the recall.

6 Seat Belt problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2014

For about 7 months, my son has been driving the 2001 f250 sd under normal driving conditions. There have been many instances where the driver's side front seat belt has unlatched on its own. It has also happened to me while driving. The truck was taken back to Ford dealership on 3/7/03 under recall 01s21 seatbelt. "buckles were inspected, ok as per 01s21, no repairs needed. " we were charged $27. 16 for the inspection. Took the truck back to dealership today (5. 27. 15). They have no advice for us. There are many open complaints for this problem. Please do something about this before someone gets killed. I've seen the reports of many injuries already.

7 Seat Belt problem

Failure Date: 02/12/2013

Driver seatbelt unlatches unexpectedly. There doesn't seem to be any particular cause for the latching failure.

8 Seat Belt problem

Failure Date: 01/08/2013

Rear seat belt buckle has broken latching mechanism within female buckle. This item is not available from the manufacturer. Seat belt not available from the manufacturer on a 14 year old vehicle ? !.

9 Seat Belt problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2012

Driver side seat belt unlatches at random. I've seen complaints about this on this website, so I'm not the only one having this problem. Problem has been going on for a few years and I don't know the date or mileage when it started happening. The dealer just tried to sell me a new latch for around a hundred bucks. Seat belt latches don't just wear out that easy, my '73 mustang has latches that still work.

10 Seat Belt problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2011

At various times, the driver's side seat belt buckle will release causing the belt to become loose. It happens at all speeds and usually will happen multiple times during a trip or not at all. I have never had it happen on the passenger's side seat belt.

11 Seat Belt problem

Failure Date: 02/01/2010

Seat belt on driver side disconnects randomly. It has gone over 200 miles without disconnecting, but rarely further than that. Ford service department could find no problem and so did not fix anything. It disconnected about 10 miles after I left the dealer. I push in the left side male part and it clicks. I usually jiggle it and give it a tug, but that has had no effect on when or where it disconnects. There was a recall in 2001, but I have not been able to find out if the part was repaired/replaced at that time. I've used the same Ford service location since I bought the truck.

12 Seat Belt problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2001

: the contact stated the front center seat belt loosened and failed to stay tight. If the belt is pulled it will tighten, but it has too much play and may not accurately hold the passenger in the event of an accident. The buckle will not come undone. The service dealer replaced the seat belt three times and the dealer claims the belt worked even though it is loose and the dealer will not change it anymore. This has been an issue since the vehicle was first acquired when it was new. Updated 9/27/2006 -.
