Have had approximately $8000 in car repair bills in last few months for our 2002 Ford f250 diesel truck and 2005 Ford explorer XLT. Tremendous financial burden 2002 Ford f250 diesel truck - hubs seized, loss of control of vehicle premature rusting of vehicle body, tailgate but most importantly the oil pan in which replacing the old pan became an approximately $3,000 repair bill. 2005 Ford explorer - transmission went at 80,000 miles! hubs sieze.
On Sunday may 1st. I was driving my Ford f250 on the freeway and noticed that smoke was coming out of the dashboard, and out of the the ac vents. I pulled over to the emergency lane of the freeway and opened the hood, we saw no smoke nor fire under the hood but just to be on the safe side I disconnected the battery. The smoke continued coming out through the dashboard I then proceeded to call aaa and they called the police. My son then called 911, and before the fire department arrived to the scene that truck caught fire and kept burning until the fire dept. Turned it off. The truck is now a total loss, aside from my truck burning up I had alot of work tools that burned in the fire as well.
Ford f250 7. 3 power stroke diesel cps (cam position sensor) failure . . . Truck dies when coming to stop at intersection, also died once in middle of left hand turn,coasted over railroad track. . . . . . Repaired once while under warranty 2 years ago(failed 3 times prior to repair) repaired by me after last incident date 8/16/07 (failed once), replaced cps with new one(new part#. . . . . . . Improved part????????? I hope)this is a common problem among the Ford 7. 3 power stroke diesel,check out the web forums!!!! this could be dangerous because without the motor running there are no brakes (hydro boost runs off power steering).
2002 Ford f250 super duty pickup. The spare tire came off while driving. The tire is carried under the bed and held in place with a steel cable and winch assembly, the cable broke that holds it in place. Thank goodness this happened on a low traffic county road, this spare tire is heavy and could be a dangerous traffic hazard if it were to hit a car traveling on the road. My first thought was it was a random isolated failure but I have talked to another Ford super duty owner that had the same problem.
Consumer states that the engine lights comes on, the gas pedal cease to function, with engine still running, but vehicle wouldn't accelerate. This problem kept happening intermittenly all day. Dealer contacted. Ts.
The vehicle will lose power with the engine light coming on, cause unknown. The Ford dealership has had the vehicle for three days, stating that vehicle was getting some sort of resistance. The vehicle was again failing with the same problem. The consumer states that he had taken the vehicle to another Ford dealer and they seemed to have remedied the problem-linkage accelerator. The windshield was leaking-resealed-still leaking. The vehicle has been okay since the last repair. Now the windshield is leaking water, and is running behind the dashboard. The consumer has also experienced the following: when stopping the vehicle feels like the drivline shifts forward-loud bang,when starting off, the vehicle shifts backwards, the connector is not fully seated(pcm module), and the injector harness intermittenly opens-repair loose left valve cover injector harness connector causing high resistance cleared.
