Body problems of the 2004 Ford F-250

Five problems related to body have been reported for the 2004 Ford F-250. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Body problem

Failure Date: 02/01/2018

Drivers side door latch will not latch closed after opening the door from the inside. In order for the door to latch in the closed position I have to reopen the door from the outside then and only then will the door stay closed.

2 Body problem

Failure Date: 02/18/2016

Passenger side, factory installed, running board broke into three pieces. Two of the pieces fell off the vehicle causing my wife to fall to the pavement in the yuba city, CA post office parking lot. My wife was injured in the fall.

3 Body problem

Failure Date: 08/07/2014

Driving on sh 239 in refugio county, texas at approx. 70 mph between tivoli, TX and us highway 77 south. Right front tire blew out which immediately caused the truck to veer off the right side of the highway, over a metal culvert, go airborne through a barbed wire fence at the corner posts, land in a pasture and continue through another barbed wire fence with metal fence posts. Distance traveled from road to stopping point approximately 70-75 yards. Tires purchased at discount tire, 9/16/2009 truck mileage 68,000, all tires replaced at this time with lt/265/75r16e1 123r b bf goodrich rugged trail t/a rbl tires.

4 Body problem

Failure Date: 06/28/2013

The contact owns a 2004 Ford F-250. The contact stated that the brakes failed. After inspecting the vehicle, the contact discovered that the frame rail and undercarriage were completely rusted. In addition, the exhaust manifold was corroded and there were fumes entering the cabin of the vehicle. The rear plates for the parking and emergency brakes were also completely rusted. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for inspection or repairs. The manufacture was made aware of the failure. There were no recalls for the vehicle. The failure and the current mileage was 59,000.

5 Body problem

Failure Date: 06/18/2009

The contact owns a 2004 Ford f250 superduty. The contact stated that the running board fell off the vehicle. The bolt corroded and caused the board to crack. The running board was not manufactured with a supporting metal. The contact stated that if he had not been holding the handle, he could have fallen while entering the vehicle. The manufacturer will be notified. The VIN was unknown. The current and failure mileages were 130,000.
