The back bed rails rot/rust very quickly and trying to buy new beds run 4500$ along with O2 sensors ir intake sensors go out of blue no reasoning let alone the power steering lines rusting very very quickly.
Truck frame seems to be rotting. Told 3-4 years at most by mechanic. Already replaces fuel tank brackets, any rust recalls as in ones Toyota did a while ago/ also told at 1000,000 mi will need spark plug change (only59000 now) and there was a recall of this plug removal could be difficult. Any help.
I was heading down my street in my neighborhood and just before the street bends to the left my truck stalled and I lost my power brakes and power steering. Doing the best I could I turned the wheel just enough to avoid the car parked on the side of the street then I proceeded to run through my neighbor's wrought iron gate and pilaster coming to rest on the hill in his front yard. After assessing the damage, I tried to start my truck to see if I could move it. It started and I moved it to my driveway. After the the repairs were done at the body shop I then took it to my mechanic where he discovered a faulty wire in the wire harness causing the engine to stall without any notice or signs of trouble. Later I learned from my insurance company that there was a recall for the 2004-2005 models for the wire harness specifically, that I never received any information on.
I noticed that when I hit a bump the bed of my truck bounces about two inches, when I looked under the truck I noticed all the supports under the bed were completely rotted. I have also had problems with my brakes. In less than 90,000 miles I've replaced three brake calipers, two rotors, two sets of brakes, and the last time I had it serviced the backing plates were so rotted that the emergency brake wouldn't work and couldn't be replaced without also replacing the backing plates. I have been driving for 50 years and have never experienced this much rot. I feel that the structural damage shouldn't happen this soon, and feel that I shouldn't be responsible for the cost to repair it.
My husband was attempting to step into his truck when his running board on the driver side broke in half with him and came completely off the truck, sending him to the ground. As he is disabled, this was a very scary situation. I feel if there is a shelf life or weight limit on these running boards, then the manufacturer has an obligation to have it posted somewhere on the truck. He hurt his back and hip but it could have been a lot worse had he fell on pavement instead of dirt.
2005 Ford f250 4x4 crew cab shakes violently when hitting pothole at between 45-50 mph until you slow down. Looking into this, I have found that many others have this same problem.
The contact owns a 2005 Ford f250. The contact stated that the brakes would not fully engage without abrupt force being applied and the wheels would continue to roll as if the accelerator was applied. The vehicle had been taken to an independent mechanic for routine service. Additionally, there was rust and corrosion on the beams for the truck bedding which exhibited an abnormal noise. The vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign id number:06e087000 (service brakes, air). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 5000.
