Two problems related to horn assembly have been reported for the 2006 Ford F-250. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
I was driving down a street in my 2006 f250 sd, when all of a sudden the horn honked and stayed on (not like honk honk but like hhhhooonnnkk) I had to stop and pull the fuse to get the horn to turn off. It is a safety risk due the way other drivers get startled buy this sudden noise. And may very well causes and accident or kill some one if it happens at the wrong time. I have read online that is happens alot in the 03-06 f250, and when Ford fixed my truck they replaced the fuse box, driver side air bag and horn assembly(at a cost of 1486. 80). Stating that if I had been in an accident the air bag might not have deployed. So my life could have very much been in danger. . . . . . . . . Thanks Ford. . .
The contact owns a 2006 Ford F-250. While driving 65 mph, the vehicle shook violently and felt as if it would flip over. It took a while for the contact to regain control of the vehicle. The dealer test drove the vehicle, but was unable to duplicate the failure. A report was filed with the manufacturer and they stated that the dealer would call the contact within four days. The failure mileage was 25,000 and current mileage was 30,000. Updated 12/30/08 the horn would randomly blow on its own. Updated 01/05/09.
