The contact stated upon taking the vehicle to the dealer for an inspection, he was informed that the body mount bushings that hold the cab to the train and cushion the road and the engine vibrations from the body were detaching from the frame. The contact stated that the vehicle was not repaired, and the failure had been reoccurring while driving. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer for a second inspection and the dealer diagnosed that the body mount bushings had detached from the frame. The dealer informed the contact that he would be responsible for the cost of the repair because the vehicle was not included in a recall. Failure Date: 05/25/2020

While driving at highway speeds if I hit a bump the whole truck shakes violently to the point of losing control of the vehicle. I need to brake heavily to stop the shaking. I've read up on it and it has been dubbed the death wobble and apparently is a huge problem. It is not safe to drive the truck, so I am keeping it off the road for the safety of me and those around me. Thank you.

10 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 02/12/2020

Have a very bad death wobble. Spend hundreds of dollars to fix and still here.

12 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 01/02/2020

When traveling more than 40mph and a wheel hits a groove or bump in the road, the entire truck shakes violently and is hard to control, forcing the driver to quickly decelerate to regain control of the truck. It feels as if the tires are bouncing uncontrollably. This has been happening since we purchased the vehicle new in 2009. Also when driving over railroad tracks or very bumpy roads, the brake pedal, when depressed, goes all the way to the floor. After pumping the brakes, normal braking returns, but the initial brake failure is very frightening as is the uncontrollable shaking when hitting a bump at highway speeds.

13 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2020

My truck is having the same issues as listed in the recalls but isn’t on the recall list. Running rough dash board turns off and loses power to the cab. Low voltage light comes on but batteries and alternator test fine. Factory installed lift blocks have cracked and caused can bushings to fail.

14 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 03/15/2019

Driving at highway speeds the front of the truck starts violently and uncontrollably shaking and doesn't cease until you slow down below 20 mph. The front end also does this if I'm driving more than 25 mph and the pavement changes. The county repaved a portion of my road. The speed limit is 55. Everytime I reach the change in asphalt, I have to almost stop to get the shaking to stop.

15 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2019

At 65mph+- on the highway, the truck can become difficult to control / steer straight. And maintain position in lane. Have spent $6,000. 00 +- with Ford dealership and also an independent mechanic but they are not able to correct the problem. Ford replaced the steering box twice, new shocks, new tires, new tie rod ends, alignment, tire balancing and other new parts associated with the suspension and steering. . . And the problem still persists. I have been the sole owner of this truck and bought new in 2009.

16 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 12/19/2018

Driving my 2008 Ford f250 at over 50 miles per hour and hitting bumps in the road causes the cursed "death wobble". It has happened multiple times. Once with my family in the vehicle and my wife driving. Almost caused her to wreck before coming to a complete stop on the interstate. Have paid for repairs multiple times, with the same thing happening after repairs.

18 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 03/24/2018

I experienced "death wobble" 3 times in two weeks after hitting a bump on the interstate traveling approximately 60 - 65 mph each time. The vehicle shook uncontrollably until I slowed down to 40 mph or below. The vehicle was moving forward in a straight line when the problem occurred.

19 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 02/06/2018

Since owning my f250, it has randomly experienced a severe vibration "death wobble" after hitting bumps at highway speed. So bad, that I installed a steering stabilizer to help mitigate the issue (Ford didn't seem to have a better fix). I always keep my load "e "rated tires inflated per recommended pressures yet the problem persisted. On several occasions I thought that I was going to lose control of the vehicle when the vibrations happened. Ford has yet to address this issue other than to say slow down when the severe vibration occurs. For nearly 10 years this has been an accident waiting to happen for many f250 owners and Ford's answer is when it happens ," slow down"? this is not an isolated occurrence unique to my vehicle; there are literally thousands who have experienced the above issue. Numerous post, blogs and videos are available on line, yet Ford continues to blame the occurrence on low tire pressure and pass the responsibility for controlling a very hazardous "death wobble" to the vehicle owners. This is an issue they have known about for many years, yet have failed to take responsibility and correct the highly dangerous condition Ford created. Any data on how many accidents can be attributed to their poor engineering/design elements that obviously contribute to the unsafe handling of their 7000 lb pluss trucks?.

20 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2018

This vehicle has no aftermarket alterations and the front end parts are in satisfactory condition but at certain speeds when hitting a bump the vehicle shakes uncontrollably as if it is going to explode! it only happens on the highway.

Violent front end shaking when I run over a pot hole or bad spot on the interstate. .

25 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 05/22/2013

The truck shook uncontrollably and I had to pull it over to the side of the road. Happened multiple times and it creates a very dangerous situation. I have read many other complaints of this for this make and model of truck and every complaint is the same condition 70 mph and hitting a bump or pothole and the truck shakes to the point of loosing control until you get it stopped. Had new tires put on and it is better but not gone. Air pressure should not be a critical for the safety of a truck to maintain control. All of my tires were at 65 psi a 100 mile before I started the trip.

26 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 01/21/2013

2008 f250 6,4 powerstroke 4x4 drive above 55 and hit rolling bump and the front end starts shaking violently steering wheel also shakes. I have had everything inspected and everything is tight as a vehicle with only 59,000 mile should be. The more I drive it the worse it gets its starting to just shake randomly without hitting a bump.

Began in 2010. . . Death wobble. . . . Hitting a bump,,steering wheel shakes violently. . . . . Loss of confidence in the ability of the vehicle to provide safe transportation. . . . . Dealership visit was not helpful. . . Said it was tire pressure. . . Added a different trac bar in 2012. . . Helped some but til produces the wobble at lower speeds.

30 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 06/25/2009

I was simply driving down the hwy and hit a small bump in the road, my truck began to shake uncontrollably and continued to do so until I slowed way down. I made it to the next exit and dropped it off at the local Ford dealership. It startled me so much that I didn't want to drive it like it was. This is the third time this has happened but the first two times were not as extreme. The dealer so far has told me they think it is tire pressure but im not buying it. . I searched for recalls and found none but I found a lot of complaints about the same or similar problem. I don't know what the problem is but it is definately very dangerous and should be looked at for a possible recall. If there had been more traffic I could have caused an accident as it was a very violent shaking.
