general problems of the 2014 Ford F-250

I kept smelling a burnt plastic smell. Eventually my driver side rear door did not lock. Upon inspection of the wiring the wire harness from the door to the truck showed the wires on the truck side had burned/melted the sheathing off the wires and leaving them exposed and touching.

The mykey feature was enabled and won't turn off. I took the vehicle to the dealer and had a new key programmed. This fixed the speed regulation but the limited volume feature is still active and I can't increase volume beyond 40%. The touch screen is also not responding correctly. Depending on where I touch the screen, the area of the screen impacted is about an inch or more below where I touch. In some cases, some features can't be accessed anymore because of their location on the screen.

The bcm module on 2014 F-250 superduty is attached to the parking brake release plate under the driver's side dashboard. Normal use of the parking brake release causes the bcm connector to become loose. After multiple normal uses the bcm connector faults and shuts down the ability to start the vehicle. My issue occurred while driving and I lost ability to monitor speed, rpm, fuel, temp, and other functions. I stopped on the side of the road and turned off my vehicle. It would no longer start. I searched for this problem and found out it was a common problem and �roadside� steps to fix it (shaking the bcm connector). Doing this temporarily fixed the problem. Ford stated there is no recall on the issue and would not fix it free of charge. There are multiple videos on youtube for 2013, 2014, 2015 year vehicles with the same problem. Even after contacting Ford corporate with videos and forum threads they deny an issue exists. The local dealership wanted about $3,500 to �explore and diagnose the problem�. I purchased a certified pre-owned vehicle on November 13, 2016 and have had to return the truck for service more than 4 times for the same issue and the issue is still not fixed. It is my understanding that there is a malfunction with some 2014-2015 f-super duty 6. 7l diesel vehicles which may exhibit a mil illuminated with dtc p207f. And that this condition may be associated with the powertrain control module (pcm). In each occasion I was driving the truck and first the engine light would turn on, second, my speed would be limited to less than 50mph, and finally, the engine would go into idle mode with no immediate restart. I have had to tow my truck four times due to this problem. The work order reports indicate that the manufacturer has performed the repairs but the issue continues and they are not able to determine the cause. This defect substantially impairs the use of my truck and has created a safety concern in which I no longer feel safe driving under no circumstance. I demand a replacement or refund that includes all the out of pocket expense occurred for rentals and alternate transportation each time my truck was in for repair with the manufacturer.

Ford has a recall for 2015 and up 25s89 rear-view camera inspection, my camera has exact same issue in fact these parts involved in recall are the same!!! how is it that Ford starts recall with 2015?? and doesnt go back to 2013??? makes no since whatsoever!! I've worked for Ford for 35 years as a tech and im a 26 year senior master technician!!!! can't explain stupid!!!.

Near the end of the highway I was setting thru a light and decided to et fuel. Once I reached the turn in got to the pump all is well. I was not towing or hauling anything the day temperature is 66 degrees. I set at the pump for a minute on the phone and then turned the truck off. Proceeded to fill up and then depart. I started my truck removed the emergency brake at the same time my dash indicator lights all started in with hight exhaust temp hight oil temp all sorts of other lights along with engine system start failure. I pulled away from the pump for safety and then shut it off. That was it no start same warnings. After calling a wrecker twenty minutes went by and I tried it again and it started with a service engine light on. No dealer could get to it for two or three days so I drove it home to schedule an appointment. Had this happened six miles earlier I would have beed in a bad spot.
