Noted strange "thumping" sound in truck. Took to certified local mechanic who has worked on our vehicles since 2016. This truck has just over 117,000 miles, I am the original owner (ordered while stationed in afghanistan) and there has never been an accident, there has been no reason for removal of the body from the frame unless the Ford dealership who repaired the missing wire harness when the truck was less than 90 days old had to remove the truck bed. Inspection of vehicle noted the bolts holding the body to the frame were missing. Vehicle is currently being repaired. The risk is the body could have come off the frame and potentially caused bodily or property damage. I contacted Ford but have not received any feedback other than the call center laughing at me for the situation. There were no warning lights on the dash nor codes given to my scanning tool by the vehicle. Mechanic stated this is the third f-series of this generation they have seen this year with the exact same problem. Truck cannot be moved due to safety concerns, locked out/tagged out of service. Repairs will cost approximately $2,500 including time and materials.
Lethal death wobble , could have easily crashed on the interstate without having both hands on the wheel. This is insane, had the front track bar and front steering stabilizer replaced, still no fix.
I was driving on the freeway, 65 mph, all of sudden, the steering and truck started to shake violently, lost control of the steering wheel, due to the severe shaking, caused traffic behind me to stop suddenly as they noticed something major was going on. It felt like as if I had 4 flat tires, and it felt like a strong earthquake. I had to reduce speed to 10 mph per hour, it stopped shaking and exited the freeway, never experience anything like this before.
On multiple occasions I have experienced the “f250 death wobble”. When reaching speeds of over 60 mph my front end and steering wheel start shaking violently. The entire truck is uncontrollable. It feels like the vehicle is going to shake apart. It is difficult to even hold onto the steering wheel and keep the vehicle going in a straight line. I have to slow down to about 30 mph on an interstate to make it stop, creating a dangerous situation. Sometimes I have to pull off the road. Often, when hitting a bump in the road it gets triggered. I’ve had it looked at multiple times at Ford dealerships and nothing is ever found that is the cause of it. It’s extremely dangerous and there is no recall for this problem. Thankfully I have managed to keep control of the vehicle. I’ve experienced this problem for going on 3-5 years. I have replaced the front tires numerous times as that seems to help, though not eliminate the problem. Ford needs to do something about this with a recall or educating their service departments. There are tons of complaints online.
At any given moment, if I have the wheel turned a little bit and hit a pot hole or crack in pavement, the drivers wheel will do a horrible wobble until I slam the brakes on and hold tight to the wheel. It will not come out of this wobble until I am at an almost complete stop. This has happened more than 10 times in a few weeks. It has been happening for a few months but is happening more and more now. I have had the tires balanced, changed the shocks, changed stabilizer shock, and replaced the tie rods. None of this has helped. After talking with a mechanic, this is a known problem with Ford f250’s. This is very dangerous to not only me and my passengers but other drivers on the road as well when my truck swerves into other lanes and I have to slam my brakes on. I am hoping something can be done before injuries happen. Yesterday was the worst and almost caused an accident.
It started shaking while driving on the highway and I searched up on what was happening after slowing down to 50 mph or lower and it stated that it was the death wobble where the driver can lose control of the vehicle.
The back up camera only works part of the time. It does not work every time.
Going down the freeway, I ran over a couple of pot holes. The truck began to vibrate and the vibration got so bad I thought I was going to lose control. I was able to slow down and pull off the freeway causing the vibration to disappear, and returned to the freeway without further incident. This is the 6th or 7th time the rattle was felt, although this incident was worse than any other event.
When driving over speeds of 50mph or after driving over bumpy/ wavy roads, the truck starts shaking violently. It was bouncing so hard it almost shook the steering wheel out of my hands. I had to completely stop and pull over off the left side of the interstate. This has happened multiple times.
I was driving 65mph on i16 to get on i75 in macon, GA. The truck started shaking as if I had blown all four tires. After taking it to a repair shop, I was told it is called a "Ford death wobble. ".
Unknown death wobble- the truck starts shaking uncontrollably. I have to slowly stop the truck and pull off of the road each time this happens. Happens more and more often, and I have to drive slow and in the lane closest to the shoulder just in case.
On two occasions was traveling on the interstate and the truck began to violently shake uncontrollably. Had to slow way down almost causing myself to be rear-ended on one occasion and the other time it shifted the truck in the other lane. Both situations caused me to have no control of my vehicle. My wife is afraid for my safety and others while driving on the interstate because of this issue. There is no warning before it happens.
Emissions control, Ford needs to fix this by the known issues. In 2018 Ford extended the warranty period on their def heaters. The warranty included 2011, 2012 f250 thru f550. The warranty also included 2013, 2014, 2015 f 450 and f 550 but excluded the f250 and f 350. This is a particular problem with the 2015 model year also. Doing research- I can find a number of people who are having this exact issue with the 2015 f 250 and f 350. All of these vehicles use the exact same 6. 7 power stroke diesel motor and I would think the def systems are similar if not identical. Ford should be required to include the 2013, 2014, and 2015 f 250 and f 350 in the warranty they extended to 11 years. My truck currently has 29,845 miles.
Ford f250 death wobble: hello, I have a 2015 for f250 VIN# 1ft7w2bt8feb61336, upon reaching speeds of 60 to 80mph the vehicle uncontrollably starts shaking and wobbling. I have contacted Ford and they have not offered to check the vehicle for any defects. Please help. Thank you.
My truck starts to shaking violently when you go over a hump or a pothole in the roads at a speed over 50 miles per hour, I believe believe the issue it has is the death wobble.

Ford death wobble 2015 f250 has 80200 miles, I ran over a bridge expansion joint on I-40 road was a straight section in TN my speed of 74 miles per hour, (cruise control) after driving 11 hrs and only 50 miles from home. I hit the typical highway bump and the front of the truck took off violently shaking left and right bouncing up and down all at the same time! jumping brakes steering for the road shoulder wasn't sure the steering was even working I almost caused an accident slowed down from 74 to 50 front wheels and steering returned to normal truck isn't safe for travel.
Emissions control, I copied this from another because it is my exact same problem. Ford needs to fix this by the known issues. I took it to the dealer to get fixed under what I thought was a TSB, I was wrong. Wanted to charge $281 just to pull the code even though I already did and told them that this was my exact problem. Going down the road and started experiencing the death wobble. Could barely hold on to the steering wheel and felt like a tire was gonna come off.
We have two trucks a 2015 1ft7w2a61feb75705 and 2016 1ft7w2a68geb44288 f250 trucks financed through Ford. Both ac evaporators have gone out and Ford is saying there was a design flaw and they are not producing anymore until it is redesigned. They dont know when that will be or if it will be recalled for this. So I am a landscape company in florida and our crews have no ac until who knows when. Is there something you can do to help express the redesign or recall. We still have to make these payments and a/c is not an option. We are considering renting trucks for now. However, we are still making these payments.
Bought this f 250 platinum new in 2015 it started having a front end wobble problem ,some call it the "death wobble I paid to have it fixed and it has happened intermittently since then and now it is worse than ever, I cannot in good conscience sell this car like this.
Since my last complaint this truck has had to have the def heater/sending unit replaced @ 70091 miles. Today the check engine light has come on again for the 4th time for a p207f code. Purchased truck October 2018 with 53,000 miles. December 10, 2018 ccv collar put in @ 57,104 miles for p207f code. December 21, 2018 nox sensors replaced @ 57414 miles for p207f code. August 30, 2019 egt sensors replaced @ 65687 miles for p242a & p2031 code. January 15, 2020 nox sensors replaced @ 69332 miles for p207f code. February 4, 2020 def heater/sending unit replaced @ 70091 miles - code ??. March 8, 2020 truck has popped p207f code again @ approx 70600 miles. At all times the truck was moving when the check engine light came on. At all times the truck was taken in for service within a few days of the check engine light coming on.
Death wobble. I've replaced the whole front end, I've tried out new tires, had the alignment done and I'm still getting death wobble. It has caused myself and my girlfriend to almost lose our lives on several occasions. It's a safety hazard and will cause someone to lose their life one day.
When I was going about 70 mph hit a bump in the road it started shaking uncontrollably till I about stopped do scary my little girl started crying . . . There needs to be a recall on something before someone gets killed. . . . .
Faulty def fluid tank heater, check engine light came on. Took to Ford dealer only to find out my extended bumper to bumper warranty doesn't cover any def parts! my 2015 F-250 is just shy of the year on the recap they currently have.
Purchased car with 8 miles on it in 2015. Both batteries were defective and had to be replaced . One battery blew up, and the other caught on fire. Not sure if that caused anymore extensive damage. The car is dragging when I start it now. Dealer at koons Ford in MD. Says he cant find anything wrong. Took the car to liberty Ford and they replaced batteries and suggested I go back to koons Ford because the car is under warranty. I believe something is wrong the starter or ignition. Default tire pressure sensor will not go off. Even after maintenance. Some severe electrical issues are happening. Having suspension issues as well truck shakes real bad if I hit a bump. Very poor gas mileage. Bumpers are of poor quality. These issues have been ongoing since the purchase of the car. The truck only has 47,000 miles with no missed maintenance dates. Problems occurring both on the highway and on city street while in motion.
We had our truck checked for recalls and service issues because of a check engine light prior to leaving on a long trip. We specifically asked if the truck was one of the brake recalls. We also have a non functioning touch screen. When the truck was examined and a oil crankcase separator trouble showed up as an extended warranty. The oil separator was replaced and no other recommendations were made. We were told to bring the truck back if the check engine light came on again as there also a fuel temperature sensor alert that might be the issue. Extended warranty alert that might need to be fixed. We left the following day for our trip and three days later our left front end developed a noise, was very hot and then it felt as though the brake was stuck. We found a national chain auto repair that would be open on the next day to examine the truck. Thankfully we were not pulling our travel trailer. The repair shop found that the left front caliper failed and the brake pads and the rotors needed repair/replacement. They examined the right front and round the caliper had started leaking there and the same repair was required. Again, no recommendations had been made to fix or replace brakes had been made before the trip. Before leaving for our trip the truck had 48,188 miles and we bought it used in 2016. We have only pulled our travel trailer three times since we bought it for a total of 180 towing miles. I have researched and find other owners of these models that also have the same brake issues but like ours their VIN # also are not included in the brake recall. We retained the replaced brake parts. I also have the inspection sheet from the service before our travel. The service light came back on our return and we have to return to the dealer yet again for that to be diagnosed. ## VIN passed ## Ford f250 platinum diesel 4x4 2015 ##.
Have a 2015 Ford F-250 lariat. Bought brand new. Around 40,000 miles a code came across the dash display hi'll descent/ traction control fault-. So in took it in to have them look at it. Got it back a couple of days later and they had told me they replaced some part and it should be fixed. As I was driving out the same thing cane across my dash again and went off. I went for a few days and it continued to come across my dash. Sometimes while I was driving and sometimes sitting. I did notice that when this would happen my remote start wouldn't work. Along with those issues my back up camera wouldnt work. It would say camera not available please contact dealership. This has been a continuing issue. My truck is in the shop now 1-25-17 and has been since last Saturday. I called to check on the truck and they told me that there weren't any codes and they needed to keep until the codes pop up. The lady also told me that one of their service techs truck is doing the same thing. No new news for getting it fixed other then they will call Ford to see about another route. Also before this truck I had a 2012 F-250 lariat and my fuel system shutdown leaving me in the middle of the highway. When I got it towed to the Ford place there were literally 3 other gentleman there for the same reasons. It cost me 8500 dollars and 1 month in the shop for repairs. A week prior to that I had it in the shop getting new filters and oil change. They told me I had too much water in the fuel system. But they changed my filters a week prior to this.
I have noticed on several instances while traveling on the freeway between 60-70 mph when the truck goes into regen mode I get a loud valve clatter and a loss of engine power. This could be very dangerous.
This incident happened 3 times and each time we took the 2015 diesel truck to the dealer. They hooked it up to their testers and no finding. Our truck shook, spuddered and heard a knocking sound (clicking). This incident happened suddenly. It is continueing. The dealer assures us that the problem will be fixed when they can see the problem on their testers. They also informed us that they have not heard any directiives from higher up about this type of problem. Diesels are supposed to be super. This is my first Ford diesel and I'm not feeling any love. My 2010 chevy traverse is running super.
