4 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 12/24/2024

The investigation into the f-150 sudden transmission downshifts into a lower gear at highway speeds needs to be expanded and also include F-250 6. 7 l diesel. It has happened in my F-250 twice while traveling on the interstate at highway speeds, down shifts from gear 6 to gear 3. Very dangerous.

5 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2024

Truck has started dropping into 1st gear and losing speed with no warning. Has happened at low and high speeds.

6 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 03/02/2024

While merging onto an interstate the truck began to violently shake causing me to begin to lose control. I was able to brake hard and pull off the road before I lost complete control. I was extremely upset after this event. After regaining composure on the side of an interstate I pulled back onto the interstate. Within the next 10 min I hit a bump in the middle of the interstate and the truck again began to shake violently. I thought I was going to lose control and crash. We immediately had the vehicle taken to a mechanic. The work they did cost 1300$. Approximately 2 weeks after getting the vehicle back I was driving over a bridge and the seam in the road again caused the truck to violently shake. Again feeling like I was going to lose control. I was able to brake hard and pull over on the side of a bridge. This caused significant trauma to myself and my young son. Since then the truck continues to violently shake anytime it’s driven over a bump or seam in the road even at slow rates of speed. We have taken the vehicle to the mechanic again and they have been unable to solve the issue.

12 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 06/10/2019

My truck only has 79100. 3 miles on it its a 6. 2 l gas a/t the problem that I have is first when the trans is warm it has a one to two second delay shifting into reverse then in drive it also has a delay shifting from third to fourth gear about a second delay then shifting from fifth to six gear it has a longer delay about two second are more delay and the rpm rise up to about three thousand before shifting with a hard shift almost like it goes into neutral . This all happens no matter what street your on going straight are turning .

13 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 08/25/2016

Exhaust cleaning cycle causes extremely rough running conditions. Severe engine knocking seems as though a piston will fly through the hood soon. Significant loss of power at any speed during this time. Brand new truck purchased from dealership and this has happened from purchase point all the way through 27500 miles so far. In reading I have found thousands of others that experienced the exact same issue.

14 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 09/04/2015

Exhaust region caused extreme rough running engine and loss of power when towing up hill and passing a semi. This caused the semi to almost hit the back of my trailer. This continues to occur with every exhaust regeneration on the 6. 7 powerstroke diesel.

15 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 09/04/2015

Exhaust regeneration causes engine shake and loss of power. The last incident occurred when towing uphill and a semi almost took out the back of my trailer. Ford indicates this is normal, however, it did not do this when new. It occurred after approximately 6,000 miles and continues to happen. The dealer indicated they have not seen this before, so I don't believe "normal" applies here. If this is "normal," then Ford engineers need to go back to school.

16 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 02/05/2015

The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-250. The contact stated that the gears failed to upshift and downshift and the rpms and transmission were not properly functioning each time the failure recurred. The vehicle also hesitated to pick up speed each time the failure occurred. The vehicle was taken to the dealer twice and they were not able to replicate the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 8,000. The VIN was not available.
