1 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 03/10/2026

The failure of the apim has completely disabled the rearview backup camera, which is a federally mandated safety feature (fmvss no. 111). Operating a heavy-duty F-250 without a functional backup camera creates a significant blind-spot hazard and an immediate safety risk to pedestrians and property. King Ford has confirmed the failure. Service director jamie churchwell has acknowledged the damage as "consequential damage" resulting directly from the attempted software update for safety recall 22s35. It is currently being reviewed by the Ford district parts and service manager (as reported by the dealer) for a "related damage" warranty claim . The vehicle’s screen and backup camera were functioning perfectly prior to the recall service. The failure occurred at the dealership during the application of the manufacturer’s recall software update.

2 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 03/27/2025

We called our local Ford dealership, matthew Ford of pryor (oklahoma) and made an appointment for the safety recall of replacing the clock spring. They proceeded to attempt the replacement and in the process damaged the steering column module, part no. Gc3z3f791ka. We are now being told that Ford does not have the necessary steering column module part and nobody manufactures it for our trim level, platinum. Consequently, our truck is not able to be fixed and returned to us in the same condition it was given to the dealership. It is still at the dealership, in pieces. We dropped it off on March 27th, 2025.

3 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 09/04/2023

In 2022 Ford issued a recall for my 2016 f250 for the clockspring. In mid 2023 for said sent me a letter telling me the parts are in stock contact a local dealer for repair. I dropped off my tuck and 2 day later I was told by deal it’s fixed come pick it up. I got in my truck and all the same issues were there. Airbag light is on, steering is sticking, no horn or other electrical working on steering wheel. The dealer said they did a temp fix which I later found was not true, Ford has no temp fix. After contacting Ford directly and being sent to another dealing by Ford corp I was told Ford has no part number or fox for trucks with heated steering. Ford has failed to remedy as their team does not have a part made to correct. This is a safety issues and they have a dealer saying don’t worry your airbag will deploy. Fraud along with failure to remedy in a timely manner.

The contact stated while driving and making a turn into the driveway, the steering wheel lost power steering functionality inadvertently and made a clicking sound. The air bag warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer and to a secondary dealer, bill utter Ford (4901 s interstate 35 e, denton, TX 76210), where it was diagnosed that the failure was related to the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the parts were not yet available. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000. Parts distribution disconnect.

5 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 07/14/2023

My truck was working great until I took it in for the clock spring recall. After that my bluetooth and my back up camera work intermittently. I took my truck back to the dealer ship about a week after the recall and said my sync was not working and they said at first it wasn't from the recall but then they took another look and said it was. The sync worked fine for about another week and then stopped again. Since then the sync goes in and out. Most of time out so I cannot do phone calls through the truck so I took it back to a new Ford dealership and they said the clock spring was done correctly and its the apim. I looked into that and saw there have been recalls on other Ford cars for this problem. I'm assuming this problem is also why my back up camera goes in and out too. Sometimes just a blue screen and sometimes just black.

6 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 06/29/2023

This is a safety recall dated December 2022. I have had truck in dealer but they state I have to wait for Ford. If it's a safety issue, when will my safety become priority.

7 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 03/22/2023

A notice of recall was received July 2022 by my family with the following numbers: safety recall notice 22s35 / NHTSA recall 22v337. I called NHTSA today to follow up on this notice, which in July 2022 I was told by parsons Ford the fix was not available as of yet. James with NHTSA gave me a number to Ford's customer care hotline. Ford contacted malloy Ford in winchester va which is suppose to call us when an actionable fix is available. They have no clue when that will be so I contacted NHTSA again today which now says there is no recall on my vehicle. So are we driving a vehicle that could potentially kill us or not. Why would the recall disappear within hours of talking to NHTSA & Ford?.

12 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 01/24/2022

Ford F-250 super duty crew cab (diesel) - purchased new in October 2016 - problem first appeared Nov 2017 and has recurred at least 6 more times. - description: at irregular intervals, all of the dashboard warning lights and system warnings (incl. Check engine, electric, oil pressure, tire warning, abs, select-trac, etc. ) go off. At that time, all gauges (except gas) fail including speedometer. The vehicle continues to run, but without working gauges, etc. If the vehicle is turned off, it will not start - at least not immediately. After some period of time, ranging from 20 minutes to overnight, the vehicle will again start, but may start flashing the same codes and warnings again. As previously mentioned, this problem has existed since 2017 and occurs at unpredictable times. - vehicle has been serviced by 3 different Ford dealers, none of which have been able to resolve the problem and in most cases, duplicate the issue . However, problem has been tentatively identified as a problem with the bcm (body control module) located behind the passenger side kick plate. One dealer allegedly replaced the bcm (in Feb 2020), but the problem has recurred 3 more times. - at present, the current dealer has advised that there is a huge backorder for the bcm (exceeding 1200 orders) as well as a "stop sell" order which they tell me is Ford's way of saying "even if you have this part in stock, you can't sell it" because it's likely defective. The service manager said there are no other sources of this part (aftermarket, etc. ). - because of the lack of reliability of the vehicle and the safety issues of driving without a speedometer and other necessary gauges, as well as the unknown damage that might be done to the engine, I believe the vehicle is a safety hazard to myself and others. - based on internet reports, this is a fairly widespread problem with similar reports affecting Ford trucks from 2012 - 2016 and possibly others.

13 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 01/02/2022

Diagnostic trouble code p21b0 reductant level sensor c circuit high I know several people that have had this same issue concerning the def tank assembly costing close to $1000. A recall was issued for earlier models but doesnt cover my truck that now has this same issue. It's this type of failure that makes owners of diesel vehicles contemplate deleting these pollution reducing systems. Please consider an expanded recall.

18 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 02/22/2019

I bought a new f250 sd 6. 7l in 2016. It has 53,000m on it. Jan 2019 reductant heater failed, Ford would not pay for it. Fortunately my ext warranty did after $100 deductable. Feb 2019 my truck while driving on city streets it gave the dash warning : chiming sound, no oil pressure, high temp, service advance trac, air bag, battery, and after stopping nothing was overheating, and oil was at proper level it would not turn over. It locked the starting system out. Towed to shop, waited 6 hrs then shop said it was from suspected corroded bcm connector. The shop turned that in to my extended warranty and they declined the claim due to corrosion. Ford has a bulletin out on it happening but refused to pay for it. $1000 repair bill+ $130. 00 for the diagnosis. They are not even sure it was corrosion, but suspects the bcm corroded connector. They reset the codes, test drove it and gave it back to me. I will never buy a Ford product again.
