36 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2019

Vehicle was already "fixed" for what is termed "death wobble" last year. While driving last night, we experienced the whole truck shaking uncontrollably on two different occasions. Once on a township road going 45 and once on the interstate doing 65. Both involved uncontrollable shaking of the suspension and inability to have complete control of the truck. This happened again this morning while driving to work. This happened, as before, when the truck hits a bump in the road. The incident on the interstate caused the need to slow down from 65 to 20 mph in order to regain control of the viehicle and stop the shaking (death wobble).

37 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/30/2019

While driving down the highway, the vehicle caught on fire underneath the hood. There were no waning signs, lights or any other indication that there was a problem. The cab was melted to the frame in less than five minutes.

38 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/18/2019

Multiple times when hitting a small pot hole or driving on a rough paved road vehicle went into what is called a death wobble. Vehicle was uncontrollable. Took vehicle I. And front end work was reportedly done at dealership. Got the vehicle back and it went into a death wobble again. At approximately 50 to 60 mph during each occurrence the vehicle the vehicle shook so severe that it was uncontrollable.

This vehicle has a serious defect which Ford needs to finally acknowledge. When hitting bumps or bridge transitions on the highway the front end begins to shake violently also known as the "death wobble". The only way to stop the shaking is to slow the truck down to about 25 miles per hour on a 75 mile hour road. This is going to cause a accident or kill somebody. My truck is now at the dealership for the 3rd time in less than a year with under 15,000 miles on the vehicle. After research this appears to be a serious flaw with the 2017 & 2018 Ford f250 trucks. I see that several complaints have been filed and it is sad that that a mandate is not being issued to correct this problem. This is a serious issue and waiting until someone gets injured or killed should not be an option.

Death wobble at about 3000miles after hitting a pothole on a city street , this seems to be a very common problem , when r u going to address the problem ? when people get killed ! how many complaints before u do something about it????.

41 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/05/2019

When traveling on the interstate and hit a bump the truck shakes violently and does not stop until you come to a complete stop. This has happened at least 5 times. It seems it is happening more frequently now. The truck has 30000 miles. I have had it for 1 year.

42 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/27/2019

We purchased this vehicle knew this past Saturday only to find that when you make a left turn or your turn there's a thumping found on the driver side that we believe. We are not sure of this vehicle is safe to drive. We are beyond upset that we bought a brand new vehicle to find that there is something defective on it.

43 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/13/2019

When driving between 60 and 75 mph the truck begins to shake violently. The steering wheel rotates back and forth out of control. The mirrors rattle and the entire truck bounces. This will occur after hitting a rough patch of interstate or when braking to exit the interstate. The truck must be slowed to approximately 40 mph before the shaking subsides and normal driving can occur. A continuing problem. When I take it back to the dealer service department for warranty I am simply told "they were not able to replicate the problem".

44 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/25/2018

My husband was driving on hwy 77 in va on October 25, 2018 when he accidentally ran into the back of a tri-axle dump truck going at a slower speed. Upon impact something under the hood immediately burst into flames and the fire quickly spread. The side impact air bags did not deflate and my husband struggle to get the driver door open. Fortunately my husband was able to get out of the truck with the help of the dump truck driver pulling on the outside of the truck door. The fire quickly spread to the cab of the truck and the aluminum melted away. He lost everything that was in the cab of his truck and some things in the bed of the truck. He was pulling an enclosed trailer with tools and equipment and the fire spread to the trailer and damaged/destroyed some tools until the fire department was able to extinguish the flames. I have attached a picture of the burning truck for your reference. I also have pictured of the truck remains. I wouldn't be as concerned about this but this same thing happened to him earlier this year when he was involved in another front end collision, in a 2018 Ford F-250 sd truck. That truck also caught on fire the same way and ended up burning up completely. I have pictures of the remains of this vehicle as well. Told the car dealer and they gave us a number to call Ford and tell them. My husband called Ford and all they did was log the complaint and gave him a case number.

45 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/13/2018

On two different occasions, the tailgate came down unexpected while driving. On the first occasion, we occurred damage to the tailgate and the 5th wheel. Pictures are attached. We were towing our fifth wheel trailer in motion, turning and driving. Two other people in vehicles told us our tailgate was down and had damage to our fifth wheel. One happened in September and the other in November again for the second time.
