36 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/21/2022

The truck began shaking uncontrollably at approximately 70mph. . Fortunately I was in the right lane , and traffic wasn’t very busy, and I was able to get the truck off the side of the road without creating an accident. . I have owned the truck since it was new, and have not experienced any issue until now! the truck has just over 40,000 miles on it. Took truck to dealership to be inspected and they said everything looks good. . But they also said that the part that I needed was on back order. At the current time I’m waiting on repairs to be made, but I am very uneasy about the safety of the vehicle now. .

37 Equipment problem

When the vehicle is traveling over a certain speed and hits bumps or uneven road it loses control of the steering wheel.

38 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 04/21/2022

My truck now has what’s called the Ford death wobble. This is 100% factory problem and has happened to many trucks. I demand a recall.

39 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/03/2022

While driving approx 50 mph, steering wheel began shaking violently. This continued until I came to a complete stop. Approx two weeks later vehicle did it a second time. Also noticed that when turning vehicle into my garage at low speed steering had a popping sound when turned about 3/4 of turn.

40 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/28/2022

Death wobble occurs on highway at speeds from 50mph to 75mph.

41 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/21/2022

The backup camera, located in the tailgate, is so distorted it is almost useless. In certain lighting, day and night, it is useless. The camera that looks into the truck bed - located at the top/back of the cab - is incredibly clear and visible. The problem lies in the backup camera. I have nearly hit multiple things due to the lack of visibility. Fortunately, I have not hit anything/had an accident. But the camera, along with the front camera (which is not as critical), is clearly faulty. The image is incredibly blurry. I have tried cleaning it, all research indicates the camera is not sealed well and moisture gets inside the camera. Replacing it with an oem part does not solve the issue. Please recall these cameras before someone gets hurt.

42 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/21/2022

When driving and you go over a slight bump in the road it makes your truck shake tremendously. I do not know if it is the suspension trying to over-correct it self but it is bad. When looking this issue up I have seen it called the Ford f250 "death wobble". I have yet to have this happen at speeds less than 50mph so this could possibly lead to a serious accident. I have made a video which I can submit for evidence (it is a mp4 file format). There seems to be no rhyme nor reason to when it will happen or how long it last.

43 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/01/2021

Tail gate automatically opened and tail gate dropped multiple times while driving. It was raining when it happened.

46 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/02/2021

I was traveling down the highway at high speeds and my vehicle started shaking uncontrollably. I had to pull over to the side of the road and slow down for it to stop. On a separate occasion, the same thing happened. . . The steering wheel was shaking almost like the vehicle was seizing up.

47 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/06/2021

Hi on September 06, 2021 at around 10:00am I was driving west on freeway 10, I was with my family (wife and two kids 5 and 2 year old) on the carpool lane of a very busy freeway in san gabriel valley. And when my truck started going over 60 mph it started violently shaking. My family and me held tight to the truck, I held on to the steering wheel as hard as I could while I slowly decreased the speed. I was able to bring the speed down to 30mph but the shaking would not stop. I slowly merged across the lanes and came a complete stop on the side of the freeway. I got out of the truck and inspected the outside to see if anything visible broke. After I checked the outside and got back and checked the screen but no messages were given for any sort of malfunction. I tried driving the truck again but at low speed 50mph and the issue did not occurred again, I'm afraid to drive 65 to 70 mph on this truck again and my wife was terrified, saying she could of not imagine what would of happened if she was the one driving at the time of the incident. On September 7, 2021 I took my truck for inspection at bob wondries Ford located at 400 s. Atlantic blvd, alhambra CA 91801 (626-246-3591), they should have a report for me in about two days.

48 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/03/2021

While driving down the interstate, traveling at 65 mph, after traversing a moderate bump in the road, the steering wheel started violently shaking. The only way to get the shaking to stop was to slow down to 40 mph, 25 mph below the posted speed limit. The inability to control the vehicle and the unsafe requirement to slow on a busy highway is a serious safety concern. This situation is wide lol y known as the death wobble.

49 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/28/2021

Driving down the highway at about 45-55 mph hit a bump or couple bumps and the steering wheel began to shake violently to the what could have been loss of control. Using the shoulder on the road was able immeditaly slow down and stop. The intensity of the shake was as though the truck was about to explode. Shocking. The dealer did perfrom a steering linkage replacement under warranty today 09-03-2021.

50 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/24/2021

While driving at highway speed (60-65mph) on interstate highway, upon entering upon a bridge or overpass (and crossing over a small bump at the beginning of same), the front-end began to shake violently; said violent shaking only stopped after brakes were slammed on and speed was reduced to a crawl. This happened three times on a recent trip. Vehicle has been properly maintained, last serviced at Ford dealer on 7/14/21. I experienced "death wobble" as described in hundreds of other complaints. Fortunately, I grip the wheel tightly and did not run off the road. This condition (apparently well-known to Ford) put my life and my wife's life in danger, as well as that of anyone driving behind me. Why hasn't NHTSA recalled this vehicle when this exact problem has been documented hundreds of times?.

51 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/21/2021

When truck was hit at rear lower corner of cab, rear driver side door came open. Door was locked and impact was at low speed, under 10mph.

52 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/18/2021

The rear backup camera has fogged up so much as to be useless and unviewable.

53 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/13/2021

Experienced extreme steering wheel oscillation at 45 mph on freeway on-ramp. Oscillation was so extreme I had to pull off freeway and stop to regain normal steering control. Went to Ford dealership and they informed me I experienced the “death wobble “ that was the first time I had heard of the death wobble. Dealer replaced front steering dampener and recommended other linkage components be replaced. Steering stabilizer was replaced under warranty 20no4. Truck had 17429 miles. So after doing research on this I have found that it is a common problem from 2005-2019 Ford trucks and there has been no recall. This is a huge safety problem. Talk to a dealer service manger and explain you had extreme steering wheel oscillation on your Ford truck and they will say you have the “death wobble “. Not sure what would happen while towing a 10,000 lbs fifth wheel RV.

54 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/30/2021

My Ford F-250 2019 shakes violently on random occasions when I am driving over 50 mph. No warning laps or messages show up prior. This incident has happened multiple times already. It happens when I'm driving on the highway. On this more recent incident I was on the highway with my pregnant wife and my 6 year old son and the vehicle started shaking violently and I nearly lost control for a moment on a busy highway in miami FL. I was able to gain control and pull off safely onto the emergency lane. There are no recalls for this malfunction. This is very dangerous. This incident could have caused the life of my family and many others on this highway if I wouldnt have been able to gain control.

55 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/23/2021

Death wobble, uncontrollable shaking going over bumps or 45+ miles per hour has happened multiple times sense July 2021.

56 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/15/2021

Driver hit a pothole in the road while driving at approx. 50 mph and the steering wheel started shaking violently. Driver slowed down immediately and the shaking stopped. Driver later went over a railroad track on the hwy. And reported the steering wheel started shaking violently again and the driver couldn't control the steering of the truck as it veered off the hwy. And almost hit a metal light post in the median of the hwy. The driver was able to apply brakes to stop since there was no traffic behind him. The driver and his passengers were not injured but scared (of course). There were no warning lamps, messages or symptoms of the problem prior to the incident. The earliest appointment we can get with an authorized Ford dealer is over a week away. The problem will be checked out at that time.

57 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/31/2021

Truck tailgate has been opening on it’s own while I’m driving for several weeks. The first few times I thought I had maybe pushed the fob in my pocket somehow. I pull a bumper pull trailer most of the time and I had been taking the fob out of my pocket and setting it in my console so I would not “accidentally” open the tailgate. Over the weekend I ran to the store and when I put my truck in reverse I could see from the camera that the tailgate was already open, and the fob was sitting inside my console. Today I’m pulling a trailer and the tailgate opened up again at some point and smashed the tailgate all up from it crushing against the jack on the trailer. Ford tells me my truck wasn’t involved in the recall that was issued for this already and yet my truck is experiencing the exact same thing with no recourse other than to file it on my insurance and get hit with a higher policy amount or pay for it out of pocket and from what I can see will cost several thousand dollars. A quick internet search shows there are far more than me that are having issues with this.

58 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/04/2021

My truck was parked last night and I came out to it the morning and my rear heated sliding glass window was shattered.

59 Equipment problem

60 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/27/2021

Twice now when we have been on i75 in brandon, FL , we came over a rough patch of road at 60 or 65 mph and the truck began to shake violently making steering extremely difficult and horrifying. Both times we had to pull over across multiple lanes of traffic to the shoulder and come to complete stop. We thought we had lost the tread on a tire or had some other tire issue. We didnt. When we started again, the truck drove fine. It has also become slightly unresponsive going bumps on the highway previously but I hadn't correlated the events. I have now since finding out about the steering dampener issue. Our dealership in ft myers, FL will not fix it until 5/6/21.

61 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/15/2021

Unattended tailgate. Tail gate opens on its own after safety recall was preformed. Dealer can't reproduce issue. Tail gate opens randomly. My tail gate is damaged. Ford refusing to solve issue. I read an article about your agency having same complaints after recall was performed. It seems to happen right when I start the truck and put into drive or reverse.

62 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/03/2021

Just bought truck last Friday and drove yesterday (3/3/21) for third time and on a four lane highway driving around 60-65mph and started to cross a bridge the truck started shaking violently and I mean whole truck was shaking andi did not know what had happened. . I was able to slow down and get to outside lane and pull off road. . Looked around truck saw nothing out of ordinary and continued to dealer to get the 2 new tires put on that were ordered and when I told them what happened they said OH no ES we know how to fix just get a new steering damper and they are on back order from Ford and have been and may not be in until end of month. . And unfortunately they said it will continue until fixed and if need to drive don't go over about 40-45 mph. . I was frantic and scared thank god no cars around me. .

63 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/25/2021

Truck seems to have a death wobbke at about 70 miles an hour when I hit a over pass joint in the road or any slight bump while driving Ford has replace the dampner 4 times now but the problem keeps coming back and now it can be felt in the breaking of the truck when stopping to abruptly!.

66 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/15/2021

I was driving home from the store going down a road at about 55 miles per hour and all the sudden my truck started to shake violently I had a real hard time maintaining control of the vehicle because the steering wheel shaking so bad there was cars behind me and all I could do was slam on the brakes and come to a complete stop in the middle of the road, this was extremely scary I don't understand how a new vehicle could have such a major problem my truck is a 2019 f250 with 17,000 miles now I'm scared to drive it again, what if my kids were in the truck with me and this caused us to be in a accident. This is totally unacceptable this needs to be fixed, I called Ford and made a appointment for them to look at it in three weeks. . . So what I'm the mean time am I supposed to drive this truck and pray it doesn't happen again???.
