The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-250. The contact stated that while driving over a pothole, the vehicle started shaking, and the steering wheel was uncontrollable. The contact stated that after it rained, the driver's side and passenger's side doors were filled with water. Additionally, the interior lights failed to turn on as needed. There were no warning lights illuminated. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 98,000.
The housing for the headlights have started to delaminate from the inside of the housing and starting to create a problem with the effective lighting and turn signal area. Where the delaminating is occurring, the lens has a milky , etched, , water spot film like appearance clearly on the inside of the housing. Since it first appeared , it has grown in size on both headlamps and appears that it will continue to grow over time. I first noticed this several months ago and reported it to the Ford dealer. After a lot of back and forth , and much to my dismay Ford is refusing to cover this under its top tier extended warranty even though it is a safety issue . It would have been covered under the initial 3/36 bumper to bumper . Ford has officially stated that it’s not a common problem, though it’s pretty easy to find quite a few others with the same issue from browsing Ford internet forums.
