Sensing System Camera problems of the 2019 Ford F-250

The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-250. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the backup camera failed to perform, and the contact struck a pole. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number 22v644000; however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 37,300. The VIN tool confirms parts are not available.

The backup camera, located in the tailgate, is so distorted it is almost useless. In certain lighting, day and night, it is useless. The camera that looks into the truck bed - located at the top/back of the cab - is incredibly clear and visible. The problem lies in the backup camera. I have nearly hit multiple things due to the lack of visibility. Fortunately, I have not hit anything/had an accident. But the camera, along with the front camera (which is not as critical), is clearly faulty. The image is incredibly blurry. I have tried cleaning it, all research indicates the camera is not sealed well and moisture gets inside the camera. Replacing it with an oem part does not solve the issue. Please recall these cameras before someone gets hurt.

Foggy back up lens since purchase in 2019. Progressively getting worse. Now can not see anything on the back up camera image. Received a recall notice in this issue from Ford in sept of 2022. (recall notice - 22s51). As of today, 10 March 2023, the part to repair the problem is still not available. This is an unreasonable amount of time to have this issue resolved. I request Ford replace with a newer back-up camera and lens to correct this. Please help and advise. Thanks.
