36 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 10/08/2021

I have a 2019 Ford f250 and I have had the death wobble happen to me two times. The first was with my entire family in the truck. Going 60 mph and the truck starts to shake violently and is uncontrollable until you get to 15 mph. The second incident was a week ago just outside of haskell TX. Speed limit is 70, my son and I were travelling at 72 mph and the truck shook so violently that he was crying and the next thing I knew, we were going east bound in the west bound lane on the shoulder. Extremely close to losing total control of the truck. I do not feel it is safe to drive the truck any longer and I am going to sell it if I can.

Hit a bad spot in the road and the front end goes into a violent shake. It’s referred to as the Ford death wobble and they know about it but won’t do anything. My wife will not drive the truck because it’s happened to her several times. Please help.

38 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 04/15/2021

Traveling at about 60 mph, hit a rougher spot on the highway and truck began to vibrate uncontrollably. I slowed to approximately 35 and it went away. I bought the truck with 19,000 miles on it, and it now has 32,000. I did some research, and it is the 'death wobble. ".

39 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 03/17/2021

Driving on the highway at speed of 70mph the vehicle hit a small bump which caused the entire vehicle to start to rattle violently . The vehicle continued to rattle uncontrollably until it was able to decelerate to a speed of approximately 25mph. Previous to this scary experience the vehicle would loose some control and feel when small bumps would bounce the suspension.

While driving my 2019 Ford f250 on the highway at around 55 mph ,hit a small rough patch on road and the steering wheel started shaking violently, almost lost control . On 01-09-21, traveling north on I -75 in kentucky at approximately 75-80 mph. Traveled over a section of road that was rough and uneven. Vehicle started to shake violently, causing uncontrolled travel into the left high speed lane. Attempted to slow the vehicle to gain control and had to enter the emergency lane and stop the vehicle before the shaking stopped. Had to exit vehicle and check for possible cause and none found. Continued north on I-75 for several miles and again traveled over rough pavement. Vehicle began to shake violently and had to enter the right side emergency lane and slow vehicle to a stop before control was gained.

44 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 12/25/2020

While driving on the highway at speeds greater than 60 my truck experienced the issue know as death wobble. After hitting an expansion joint the steering wheel will start to oscillate uncontrollably until the speed is reduced to below 40 mph. You lose all control of the vehicle and are unable to steer. This has now happened 7 times starting around 15000 miles.

45 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 12/17/2020

"death wobble" after only 14,000 miles on the vehicle. . The vehicle shakes violently at high speed steering fear. Every time you hit a bump on the highway the vehicles shakes for a very long time till you slow down substantially and try to get to the highway shoulders. . Very dangerous and scary.

46 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 12/08/2020

At 75mph on interstate 95 I drove over a portion of the road that ent from asphalt to concrete back to asphalt it has a slight dip when I experienced a violent shaking in my front end I almost lost control and had to almost come to a complete stop during rush hour to regain control of my truck mind you I drive a tractor trailer fire truck for over 40 years and this incident involving my new truck actually scared me! whatever the issue is it definitely involves the front end of the truck I recently purchased the truck with 20,000 miles it has 21,400 on it as of today it came with a 30,000 or 3 year manufacture warranty I called Ford customer service and was put on hold and transferred a couple of times with no explanation but to contact a Ford dealership to have them look for the problem.

47 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 11/28/2020

Twice this past weekend, I experienced what the dealership calls "death wobble". The steering wheel and entire truck started shaking violently after going over uneven asphalt. The first occurence was on the highway around 75mph and the second time was at approximately 55mph. It felt like the truck was going to shake itself apart and I had very little steering until I slowed the truck down below 20mph. In both instances, I was seriously concerned for my life (and I don't scare easliy in vehicles). After reading on the internet, it appears this is a widespread issue with super duty Fords. Surprised this is happening to a truck with only 33,000 miles on it! I am scheduling a time for the truck to go back to the dealership.

48 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 11/25/2020

My wife and I were driving down e-470 near southlands mall, when we hit a bridge joice followed immediately by a pot hole. This subsequently caused our 2019 Ford F-250 super duty lariat with a little over 27k miles, to begin shaking uncontrollably, to where we had to slow to 20 mph and veer for the side of the road, or risk being propelled into the neighboring vehicle. Completely unsafe and ridiculous to see this out of a new truck. Scared the living hell out of us. And we consistantly trailer horses , if this were to happen while we were trailer our horses?? OH my god.

49 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 11/23/2020

Truck has 26,600 miles, tires rotated from new per manual at Ford dealer. Tire pressures at spec. Normal tire wear. 90% pavement driven. On familiar two lane paved state road during clear weather while traveling between 70-75mph upon hitting a slight bump in the road the steering wheel began oscillating at a high rate with my complete inability to control the vehicle. The road had a slight curve to the right and I was unable to manipulate the trucks direction causing an oncoming vehicle to leave their lane into the shoulder to avoid collision. Immediately upon this happening I let off of the accelerator and did not apply the brakes for fear of losing control further with a vehicle oncoming. Once the vehicle passed I firmly applied the brakes and upon slowing to about 40-45mph the truck self corrected and I regained full control. Immediately after the incident my steering wheel is now 3-5 degrees off center to the right hand side in order to maintain a straight track when driving. The next day the truck exhibited the wobble at speeds between 60-75mph after hitting minor potholes and bridge approaches at least 3 times in a normal course of driving. My local Ford dealers service advisor said I had experienced the "death wobble" and that they would replace the steering dampner and re-align the truck under warranty. I am not convinced this is the total solution and I am very skeptical of continuing to drive this vehicle. Had I been on a busier road I am not sure the outcome would have been the same.

50 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 11/21/2020

I was driving on the freeway at 75 mph when I went over a bridge transition. The trucks steering wheel began to shake uncontrollably and I had to slow the truck down to 20 mph in heavy traffic to get the shaking to stop. The trucks brakes seemed to not work at normal levels when slowing down, I had to let off the gas to get the truck to slow down. This is very unsafe. I could barely control the truck enough to change lanes to start getting over to the emergency lane. I am hesitant to drive my truck anymore if this death wobble is going to happen again.

51 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 10/09/2020

10/9/2020 am driving onto 4 lane highway at 65mph starting to enter highway from the on ramp. Hit pothole at highway joint and truck started a violent shake in the front end. Shaking was so violent I and to brake hard to get down to 40mph for shaking to stop. 10/9/2020 pm driving on 4 lane highway at 65mph (different highway) . Hit rough section oft highway and truck started a violent shake in the front end. Again so violent I and to brake hard to get down to 40mph for shaking to stop. 1013/2020 am driving on 4 lane highway at 65mph. Exiting highway to start on exit ramp, hit pothole at highway joint and truck started a violent shake in the front end. So violent I had to brake hard to get down to 40mph for shaking to stop. Items on passenger side of truck shook so hard they fell to the floorboards. The shaking in the steering wheel made me loose grip initially on each instance.

52 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 10/06/2020

On 10/6/2020 the left front tire blew out on the vehicle as the employee was traveling on the highway, causing severe damage to the left front fender area and left side of the engine, on 01/24/2021 the right front tire blew out on the vehicle as the employee was traveling on the highway, causing damage to the right fender, running board, and right side of the engine.

53 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 09/04/2020

Vehicle starts to shake excessively after hitting minor bumps in road when traveling at anything excess 25mph. Dealer refuses to fix active recall for steering dampener blaming feathered tires which we believe are a direct result from the excessive shaking of steering.

54 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 07/31/2020

Vehicle purchased on 2/27/20 at goldy automotive in huntington, wv with 19912 miles. Returned to goldy automotive on 7/31/20 to have vehicle serviced and tires rotated. Left dealership on 7/31/20 at approximately 6:30 pm. At highway speed of approximately 65 mph, the vehicle began shaking violently leaving me unable to steer, having a near miss with a tractor trailer before being able to safely exit the highway. Called manager at goldy auto immediately. He sent a replacement truck to my home, picked up vehicle that was shaking violently and returned it to goldy auto on 8/1 to check the vehicle for damage. 8/1/2020, the truck shaking violently was returned to me same day, assuring everything was fixed and in good condition. 8/5/2020 I drive the truck, truck shakes violently again at highway speeds, almost causing yet another crash. 8/10/2020 I return the truck to goldy auto, whom verified my concerns, and listed that "outer tie-rods worn, track bar bushings worn" and made me aware of a recall on the steering dampener. Goldy auto did not tow the vehicle, but sent me out in the unsafe truck with instructions to go to a Ford dealership. Goldy refused to fix any problems, because they arent a Ford dealer. 8/13/20 I take the unsafe truck to thornhill Ford. I give them the documentation of what goldy auto determined to be wrong with the vehicle. Thornhill Ford refuses to fix any of the items listed by goldy auto, only replacing the steering dampener, as instructed by Ford. I do not feel this vehicle is safe to drive, however until it shakes violently again, the dealership will not act to prevent it from ever happening again.

55 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 07/15/2020

When driving on rough roads or bad spots in roads front suspension being as ridged as it is will cause tires to bounce, and if you should be on a curve will actually cause your vehicle to bounce drift suddenly. This experience is magnified when towing a vehicle which puts more weight on the rear and less on the front wheels bounce drifting has been as bad as 12" from original position. Something needs to be done to suspension to not be so ridged worst on freeways at high speeds it happens unexpectedly when driving and is a common problem on all Ford f250 super duty it has happened multiple times always due to bad roads or uneven transition.

56 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 07/12/2020

At 19,000 miles my truck would shake if you hit any kind of bump over 45 mph. At lower speeds it feels 35mph and lower like the whole front end rattles. Took I to the dealer and they said it was just the steering stabilizer and that all other joint and bushings were tight and ok. 3,000 miles later I am on a trip to spokane wa. Then back to helena, mt. Approx 630 miles round trip. On the way to spokane the front end seemed to bouncing around any time we hit a bump or uneven bridge deck. On the way back to helena it only got worse. I almost lost control on my truck 5 times as it seemed like the whole front end was going to fall off the truck. My wife was so scared that she wanted me to stop and let her out. This is my wife's daily driver and now she is to scared to even drive it anywhere. I went to Ford and told them that I had researched the problems that people are having with the same issue and it sounds like Ford just throws parts at them hoping it will fix it. These truck are going to kill someone if they done get it figured out. I now have a $50,000 truck sitting in the garage because I am to scared to let it out on thew road cause I do not want to be responsible for the death of my family or the motoring public. I am thankful that I was driving and not my wife.

57 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 06/25/2020

I was driving my truck down the freeway and also on city streets with my family young kids included and once I hit 55-60 my truck started a "death wobble " as they call it I couldn't control my vehicle it shook so violently till I slowed down to 45 then it stopped . My family was scared my truck only has 17k miles on it brand new truck . Ford should not be selling vehicles with these problems what are my options and what can I do ? I don't want to drive my truck again till problem is fixed but I don't have a choice. I'm gambling with the personal safty every day so I can make a living .

58 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 05/27/2020

Was speeding up to merge on the highway and the vehicle starting shake and vibrate violently. I slowed way down and pulled off on the shoulder, turned on my hazards and exited the truck. I did a visual inspection all around the truck and nothing appeared broken or damaged. I got back in and merged back on the highway and increased speed. The shaking and vibration was gone. I drove it the next day at highway speeds and there was no issues. Upon researching this issue, I found this was a common problem among Ford super duty owners and its called the "Ford death wobble". I contacted the Ford customer care line and filed a complaint with Ford. I will be contacting my local dealership too.

59 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 04/23/2020

My 2019 F-250 usually at speeds above 50 mph begins to have violent shaking in the front end suspension/steering system when you hit a bump in the road. Problem can be so severe that you loose control of the truck while trying to avoid traffic to bring the truck to reduced speed to around 15/20 mph before it stops. Shaking.

60 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 04/08/2020

At approximately 55 mph, I hit a bump in the road and the steering began to wobble uncontrollably and I lost control of the vehicle. The only way to make it stop was to slow down to approximately 25 mph on a busy highway. Any time I hit a bump in the road at ~55 mph or more, this happens. Truck has 25800 miles. It has been doing this for the last couple of weeks, but up until this time, it was not near as bad. It is very dangerous and impossible to control without slowing down.

61 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 04/08/2020

Tl the contact owns a 2019 Ford F-250. The contact stated while driving approximately 65 mph, the vehicle vibrated excessively without warning. The contact slowed the vehicle and the vehicle operated as designed. The vehicle was taken to bill carone Ford inc. , located at (5093 us-117, wallace, nc 28466) where the vehicle was diagnosed with an unknown issue. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 31,198.

62 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2020

While driving at his ghway speed limit of 75 mph I went over uneven break in road and steering wheel violently started shaking. I pulled over and stopped thinking I had a blowout. Tires were ok. Got back on road and continued home. This was at approximately 10,000 miles. A few days later at 75mph experiences it again. This time almost lost control. Called dealer who acted like they never heard of it, but took it in. They changed out damper assembly. I'm at 12,000miles now and feel a vibration starting up. Nothing like the first two times though. I am worried that they may not fix again. I do worry that it could cause me to lose control on crowded interstate. Something should be done for recalling these trucks.

63 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 02/16/2020

Driving at 60mph I hit a bump (joint) between overpass and highway. Truck started violently shaking in the front end. Pulled over to side of road checked tires and lug nuts no issues. Drove home slowly.

64 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 02/14/2020

Driving vehicle at 45 miles an hour. Drove over an uneven patch of blacktop road and both front tires started wobbling. The term is called " death wobble".

65 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 02/03/2020

"death wobble" over the past 5 months (it is now 1/30/2020) the entire front end of the vehicle shakes violently and uncontrollably at a high rate of speed, typically highway speeds, ranging anywhere from 50-80 mph. Although, it has happened at a speed of about 40-45. It happens out of nowhere with no apparent provocation, I. E. , hitting a pothole, turning, hitting the brakes, etc. It usually happens when driving in a straight line and nothing seems to make it stop. I've tried hitting the brakes, slamming the brakes, continuing to hold my speed steady, accelerating slightly, and praying to god to make it stop. Nothing works, it just eventually stops but not before traffic clears all around me. It is noticeable from outside the vehicle as I have seen drivers hit the brakes and fall back in traffic around me. The violent shaking makes it difficult to keep the vehicle steady or in my lane of traffic. The violent shaking makes the vehicle bounce all over the road. It makes it impossible to hold the steering wheel steady or straight. It is terrifying and unnerving. I believe it is going to kill me or someone else. I haul trailers with heavy equipment almost daily. Many times I am on the highway or on city streets. If it continues to happen, the damage will be costly and may kill innocent people, including myself. I am afraid to think what will happen if these unexpected, violent shakes happen while I am hauling heavy equipment.

66 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 01/31/2020

1/31/2020 driving approx 65 mph on interstate I hit a small undulation and the front of my vehicle began to oscillate violently. It was almost impossible to maintain grip on wheel. I was unable to immediately slow or pull over due to traffic and guard rails. I was in the process of making a right merge to another interstate and this was simply impossible. After clearing the guard rail I was able to ease to shoulder and slow to approx 20 mph. This stopped the violent shaking and I regained control. Less than 1/2 mi later I hit another normal undulation at approx 50 mph and same thing occurred, I was traveling in a straight line and slowed to 25 mph in center lane of interstate to regain control. I immediately took to the Ford dealership which denied ever hearing of anything like this, however conducting my own research this was clearly the "death wobble". This is a new vehicle w/ low milage and w/o exception every non Ford specialist I have spoken with is very familiar with this. This is clearly a design flaw and if it hasn't already, will result in serious if not fatal accident. Given all the info available on the web including a class action suit, Ford's denial is simply a lie. I have 3 children and this truck is my primary source of transportation, after experiencing the "death wobble" no parent of sound mind would ever put children in this vehicle w/o this issue being certifiably resolved. My vehicle has no after mkt parts and and very low milage. I am still well with my warranty.

67 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 01/29/2020

While driving on a congested four lane interstate highway I experienced a steering malfunction that was horrifying. I purchased my 2019 f250 new in early November 2018. There have been no modifications to the original equipment. The truck had approximately 21000 miles at the time of the first event which occurred on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2020. As previously stated, I was driving in the far left lane of a congested interstate highway in the metropolitan st. Louis missouri area. I was driving under the posted speed limit due to the volume of vehicles on the road at that time. I was in the far left lane due having no plans to exit the interstate for many miles and to avoid all of the vehicles switching lanes to exit the interstate. The condition of the pavement did not raise any obvious concerns but we have had some freeze/thaw weather this winter season. I would characterize/associate the onset of the event with a moderate bump in the pavement, possibly a raised joint from the recent freeze/thaw weather conditions. The contact with the pavement defect initiated a steering bump to the left towards a concrete retaining wall at which time I responded by increasing my grip on the steering wheel more firmly to bring the vehicle back to the center of the far left lane in which I had been travelling. The bump steering event spontaneously progressed to a violent front end wobble that was very intimidating to myself and my adult son who was riding in the front passenger seat. The wobble appeared to be associated with the front left side wheel but the entire front end was oscillating extremely violently. I was able to apply the right turn signal and navigate through the three congested lanes of traffic onto the shoulder and then an exit ramp at which time the event ceased once the vehicle slowed significantly prior to a stop. I experienced a second similar event sat, 2/02/20.

68 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 12/28/2019

When hitting a rough patch or expansion joint on road going around 45 mph or higher the truck starts vibrating really bad. This has happened multiple times, with the latest on 12/28/2019, 3 times on my 117 mile trip. Once so bad, that I was almost taken off of the interstate and going into the median. I have contacted the dealership and taken truck in soon to have fixed. Ford is aware of the issue as stated in TSB # 18-2268. From what I was told, Ford is only making the parts when needed and some vehicles have been waiting at the dealership for almost 2 months.

69 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 12/26/2019

In asheville, nc; driving 2019 f250 on interstate highway at approximately 70 mph in a straight line, rough pavement created a severe shaking (wobble) to the entire truck. Had to pull over onto the shoulder of the highway and almost stop before shaking/wobble ceased. Checked to ensure all tires were inflated and continued down the interstate. After travelling approximately 10 additional miles, hit a rough bridge approach slab which caused the violent shaking/wobble to occur once again. Pulled off once again and had to slow to approximately 3 mph before shaking ceased.

70 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 12/26/2019

Was driving and while truck started wobbling bad.
