Engine And Engine Cooling problem #1

2021 f250 with the 7. 3v8. 120000 miles and lifter has failed. We believe that we caught it early enough to where we have no more issues other than this. After reading up I have noticed where there has been several other customers with same issue on this engine. I run several f350 pickups with our business and have been very pleased and bought this pickup to run around in and keep from driving the work trucks. I would like to think that this should not be an issue with this amount of miles. I hope Ford steps up and fixes this issue.

Engine And Engine Cooling problem #2

The vehicle experienced a sudden loss of motive power and became inoperable due to failure of the high-pressure fuel system. This VIN is subject to an active safety recall (NHTSA 24v957 / Ford 24s78) addressing high-pressure fuel pump failure that can result in loss of motive power while driving. Prior to failure, the vehicle exhibited reduced engine performance and drivability issues consistent with fuel system malfunction. No water-in-fuel warning or alert was displayed prior to the failure. The vehicle was inspected by an authorized Ford dealership. Ford and the dealership asserted “fuel contamination” as the cause and refused to repair the vehicle under the recall or warranty unless the customer paid for diagnostic teardown. The recall repair was not performed. The vehicle remains unrepaired and was removed from the dealership. The loss of motive power created a safety risk to the occupants and other motorists. We are concerned that a recalled safety defect affecting the fuel system is not being remedied and is being mischaracterized to avoid recall repair.

The contact owns a 2021 Ford F-250. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, there was an abnormal valve noise detected. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with delaminated on the lifter cam and rockers and push rods. There were metal shavings in the oil. The dealer informed the contact an engine replacement was needed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted who opened a case and confirmed there was no repair coverage. The failure mileage was approximately 107,244.

Engine And Engine Cooling problem #4

On your vehicle, it may be possible for aged biodiesel deposits to accumulate in the high pressure fuel pump. This may result in extended cranking without starting while the vehicle is parked, or loss of motive power while driving. My vehicle has been inoperative for months due to this recall, per the manufacturer. We had no warning lights or problems prior to trying to start the vehicle and that failing. We took it to the manufacturer, and they said it was because of the recall. The recall date is Dec 20,2024 and it is now June 24, 2025. That is 6 months without a remedy. This is not being taken care of in a timely manner.

Engine And Engine Cooling problem #5

My 2021 F-250 has had a complete failure due to the fuel system recall notice. Ford will not repair my truck and it has been sitting dead in my lot since April of 2025. Dealer states complete fuel system repair is needed.

Engine And Engine Cooling problem #6

The exhaust manifold bolts broke and it’s leaking toxic fumes in the path of the cab and it gives me a headache I’ve done research and this is a common issue.

Engine And Engine Cooling problem #7

The truck has developed a significant knock coming from the intake manifold. It is loud enough to hear with the hood closed. The problem exists warm and cold. The knock was verified by sunrise Ford in fontana, CA in December of 2024. The dealership had another f250 on the lot with the same 6. 2 engine and that it also has a knock coming from the intake manifold, so they considered the situation "normal". There is a significant amount of information available that the knock is related to an impending failure of the intake manifold runner control (imrc). If the irmc fails, the parts will go into the combustion area and could cause an immediate catastrophic failure of the engine. At best this problem creates a loss of power and a pulsing vibration at idle.

Engine And Engine Cooling problem #8

The contact owns a 2021 Ford F-250. The contact stated that while at a stop and attempting to accelerate, the rpm's rapidly increased, but the vehicle failed to respond as intended and experienced a loss of motive power. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 70,000.

Engine And Engine Cooling problem #9

Engine loss of power - engine failure. My vehicle was serviced regularly with Ford dealership. Just weeks after an oil change at dealership I had sudden catastrophic engine failure. They found metal in my oil and stated my engine had failed due to faulty pump. I contacted Ford dealership and customer service center, and they refused to repair as I was about 125864 miles (25k over warranty) on a truck they told me would last 400k with proper maintenace. I have been making my monthly payments on this large paperweight and now there is a recall, and I still cannot get Ford to repair the vehicle.

Engine And Engine Cooling problem #10

Engine And Engine Cooling problem #11

6/25/22 around 5:30pm, my 2021 f250 7. 3 gas engine with 10k miles experienced sudden unintended acceleration. At mcdonald’s pickup window foot firmly on brake pedal, my truck felt like it was being pushed away from window. Truck got up to speed of approx. 5 mph and moved forward around 30 feet, shifted truck out of drive and rpms when up to 5k. Foot was on brake pedal the entire time. Turned truck off and walked around truck to confirm no damage, problem has not yet happened again.

The contact also stated the diesel cleaning system activated independently causing a strong odor. In addition, the rpm was fluctuating. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed but the result was unknown. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 41,000. The VIN was not available.

Engine And Engine Cooling problem #13

(unknowen) I have a problem with accelerator pedal lag time, when pushing down on the accelerator pedal nothing happens at first then you get acceleration which isn't good it's like the truck falls on its face then jumps forward. This is a real problem when driving in traffic or really any time. I have spoken with Ford about this problem but all I get is that's the way it is, Ford needs to fix this problem it's a safety issues, I have looked on-line and I'm not the only one with this problem. This lag problem happens at any and all speeds.
