Driving at highway speeds the front of the truck starts violently and uncontrollably shaking and doesn't cease until you slow down below 20 mph. The front end also does this if I'm driving more than 25 mph and the pavement changes. The county repaved a portion of my road. The speed limit is 55. Everytime I reach the change in asphalt, I have to almost stop to get the shaking to stop.

As I was entering freeway I drove over an expansion gap at 50-55 mph while changing lanes at which time my trucks front end started whobbling and violently shaking. I was unable to control front end and truck all together. I started to brake and my truck went into another lane where I almost hit another vehicle. I have 41,000 miles, original rims, tires and suspension.

My Ford F-250 experienced a severe "death wobble" on 3 occasions causing the need to slow down from 65 mph to 25 mph on the freeway during normal traffic. On one occasion, the shaking was so bad it went to the adjacent driving lane while on an on-ramp and was completely uncontrollable. The vehicle is at the Ford dealership now and having the steering shock replaced but the service rep stated they are just trying this as a solution but do not know the root cause. They are also requesting that I pay for an alignment as another possible solution. The truck has roughly 20k miles on it and is completely stock (less a camper shell). I do not feel safe putting my 2 year old, 7 year old, or wife in a very expensive vehicle while having to worry if the truck will cause a wreck due to a factory defect.
Driving my 2008 Ford f250 at over 50 miles per hour and hitting bumps in the road causes the cursed "death wobble". It has happened multiple times. Once with my family in the vehicle and my wife driving. Almost caused her to wreck before coming to a complete stop on the interstate. Have paid for repairs multiple times, with the same thing happening after repairs.
At highway speeds when vehicles comes across chatter in rough roads or at bridges vehicles steering violently shakes. Vehicle is difficult to control. To regain control by lightly hitting the brake to reduce speed to about 20 miles per hour so vehicle stops shaking. I could take a video of it if you like just contact me.
Vehicle shakes violently at highway speeds when it encounters not smooth highway conditions such as small bumps, chatter, or elevation changes at bridges.
While driving about 30 mph on mountain road at cade's cove TN. The engine shut off , no indication before hand. All small icon showed on dash including battery. Just made it to the other side of road pull off area or other wise I would have been in center of road. No power steering. Turner key off and waited about 1 minute. Turned key on and engine started up. Was able to return to our campground. This could have been a very serious safety / accident as this mountain road is very narrow and many turns going back to gatlinburg TN. From cade's cove.
While driving around 70+ mph and moving over small bumps in the road whether be a bridge transition or small pot hole steering wheel shakes violently only goes away after slowing down to below 60.
While driving vehicle dash controls, windows, radio all shut off and turn back on occasionally. If the vehicle starts and the controls are not currently working the truck idles high and chugs. When gages are not working the battery does not change either. The gages shut off while moving, not moving and at time s are off right when the truck starts. Does it while driving straight, turning, back roads highway and also driveway. While looking on google there have been at least 30 other complaints of the same exact issue without a 100% fix for the problem. Ford needs to inspect and find a way to fix this problem.

My 2018 Ford f250 super duty has a violent shake (death wobble) if I hit any kind of bump in the road at highway speed, my truck will shake so bad to the point I cant hold onto the steering wheel and whatever is in my cup holders goes flying in vehicle. I have given Ford 3 attempts to fix this issue and every time they try to fix it, the problem keeps happening. I have contacted Ford's corporate office and spoke with them multiple times about the issue. At this time, they have told me that I just need to keep trying to get it fixed and they refuse to help with any kind of trade assistance to change trucks. Ford knows this is an issue with 2017/2018 super duty trucks but doesn't seem to care about their customers. I'm terribly disappointed in how I have been treated by a company that I spend over $250,000 with over my lifetime.

Tl the contact owns a 2017 Ford F-250. While driving various speeds on a clear road surface, the vehicle shook violently out of control. As a result, the steering column shook violently. The contact stated that the steering wheel needed to be held with extreme force to keep the vehicle in its lane. The contact stated that the failure was experienced on a daily basis and the shaking failure worsened. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 8,000.
Tl-the contact owns a 2017 Ford F-250 super. The contact stated that after purchasing the vehicle brand new after driving 3000 miles it now has the "death wobble". The contact has been taken back to the dealer kerlin motor company, inc state road 15 silver lake, in 46982 260-408-6052 three times. Each time the dealer contacted the manufacturer and changed the tie rode, they realigned and now they are saying the issue could be the shock absorbers in the front. . The vehicle only has 29,000 miles on it and the was still covered for the repairs under the warranty. The contact was concerned about their safety fearing a crash in the future if the issue does not get resolved. The failure mileage was 6,000. Tf.
Stalling 2006 Ford F-250 6. 0 diesel, I was driving on the freeway with my 2 boys doing problay 60 mph in a 65mph zone when I noticed that the truck started first seemed to loose power then spurted, then 20seconds later the rpms dropped finding my self without no control of the truck what so ever, meaning it had no power brakes no steering and the engine completly shut off ! , coasting to the side of the freeway barely making it without getting rear ended ! I couldnt believe this. I got to the side of the freeway and tried for a good 5 to 7 minutes before calling triple a for a tow, then while waiting for them to arrive I tried it once again to start the truck and give it gas while doing so it fired up but for about 15 seconds it sounded like it was firing on 4 cylinders or misfiring then it went back to normal and made it home. I then took the vehile to the local Ford dealership, I don't know as of yet whats wrong with it but I can tell you I was scared over this happening!.
Our lady of the lakes road in st. Martin parish, louisiana, is a curvy road. The "service advance track and hill descent control, check engine light and break light" came on. The "!" and the "abs" light came on. Break pedal was hard to depress, while in motion. Fire started under the hood and burnt front seats and engine on.

Two different problems: first I was left stranded about 2 1/2 hours away from home because of a simple egt sensor defect shut down my truck. Had to pay a tower $350 to drive my truck to dealership and they tell me it was a little sensor that left me stranded. This type thing shouldn't happen when you pay $60,000 plus for a vehicle. Now months later I have another issue that from all the blogs say is a problem most 2012 models have called the "death wobble". It is now happening at least once on every drive I make. I have had over 8 situations where I have had to slam on breaks to make the vibration stop and the car behind me almost slam into the back of my truck. Because once the wobbling starts you have to come to almost a complete stop before the wobbling will stop. My wife now refuses to drive my truck because she is scared to death to drive it. I don't even like to drive it, but it's necessary because it is the only vehicle I have to drive. I am at the point of wanting to trade it, but what kind of trade in am I going to get with this problem happening. My 2012 just has a little more than 40,000 miles, not very much when you are talking about a diesel engine. It is happening more often now than before, and I fell it will just continue to happen more. No one in my family wants to drive or ride with me in my truck anymore. It seems as though Ford is refusing to admit that this is a problem on every online site I go too, I assume it will take a few people getting killed before they realize there is a problem. What are owners to due with this, because if we trade the truck know one is going to want to buy it. So once again the consumer gets shafted. Nhtsa we are looking for you to help us with this problem before someone gets killed. Please help us with this problem! please!!!!!!.

We have a 2011 diesel Ford f250 super duty pickup. It is like new, but has developed a serious mechanical defect. When it had less than 20,000 miles it began having the ¿death wobble¿. We have consistently tried to get the local Ford dealership in bend, oregon and Ford motor corporation to resolve this death threatening mechanical problem with no luck. This started occurring when driving over 40 miles per hour if at anytime a bump, rough road, or pothole in the road is hit. Now it can¿t even be driven that fast without violently and uncontrollably going into the death wobble. Applying the brakes makes it worse. It has to be allowed to slow down on its own. The vibration is so violent it takes all ones strength to keep it on the road. It¿s one of the most frightening experiences one will ever encounter behind the wheel. The vehicle is shaking so badly you think it¿ll fall apart and that you¿re going to die. The first time it happened with my son driving, it pulled him into on-coming traffic towards a semi-truck. He barely pulled it back into his lane before having a ¿head on¿ collision. The bend oregon dealership confirmed this pickup death wobble is worse than those described on the internet. (see website below). . Read more...
The death wobble we have a 2011 Ford f250 super duty diesel pick up with less than 20,000 miles. It is like new, but has developed a serious mechanical defect. Ford motor company has tried up to (11) eleven fixes for this life threatening problem with no success. None of these "fixes" apply on this pick up. Now since the pick up is older than 3 yrs. Even with such low mileage they want us to pay for "trying" out more possible fixes that have currently been unsuccessful for all these Ford 250 & 350 pick ups. This should be at the Ford motor company's expense. The bottom line, it should be bought back by Ford since it is not yet proven to be fixable. Problem: the "death wobble" as described on the internet. (see website below). This occurs anytime these Ford super duty 250 or 350 pickups reach 20k miles. This occurs when driving over 40 miles per hour if at anytime a bump, rough road, or pothole in the road is hit. The operator looses control of the vehicle. This vehicle is worse than the internet video as confirmed by the bend oregon Ford dealership. Applying the brakes makes it worse. It has to be allowed to slow down on its own. The vibration is so violent it takes all ones strength to keep it on the road. It¿s one of the more frightening experiences you¿ll encounter behind the wheel. The vehicle is shaking so badly you think it¿ll fall apart and that you¿re going to die. That¿s why it¿s called death wobble. . Read more...
Tl- the contact owns a 2008 Ford F-250. The contacted stated after placing the vehicle in park gear when attempting to restart the vehicle the vehicle is stuck in park without warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer (republic Ford Lincoln 1740 us-60, republic, mo 657380) the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of this failure. The failure milage was 15,000 tp.
I currently have 122,000 miles on my truck and it's all stock, even the tires are the same type as oem. For over 2 years and about 60,000 miles I continually have the same dash warning lights come on; hill decent control & advanced track. The bad part about this is that they don't just come on and remain as active system warnings, they will flash on, alert me, then go off and then come back on. So when I click "ok" to silence them, they only stay silenced for that occurrence. So when they go off then come back on, it alerts me again and again, and again. I've been on road trips where it will continue this the entire road trip. There is no established or average time that the stay on, it's random. When these alerts appear, while they are active the airbag light comes on. I don't get an alert that the airbags are in fault, I just get a dashboard light. So I can only assume that the airbags aren't working while these faults are active. I've taken it to Ford dealers multiple times for this while it was still under warranty and they claim that no fault codes appear and that they couldn't duplicate the issue. I've even had a dealership try to charge me for this. I took it to one dealership and they said it would be a $100 diagnostic fee to attempt to find it. I mentioned the safety issue but they didn't seem to care. Upon request I can provide pictures of my dash while they are active and possibly dealership receipts where they documented it.
While driving down the highway at speeds in excess of 60 mph, the car will start to shake violoently! it is forcefull enough that you loose complete control of steering and loose the ability to maintain your same lane. The shaking is so violent that I am affrad to put my daughter in the car. I can't imagine if this happened in a construction zoan or traffic. I am thankfull no one else was on the road. The only way to stop this violent shaking is to slam on the brakes and slow down. This affected the traffic behind me as I was in the left lane. The person behind me almost ran into the back of me because we were going from 65 mph to about 30 mph within a couple of seconds. This happened to my truck about a year ago when it had 35,000 miles on it. Ford recognized the problem and they replaced the entire steering wheel column and tires. That was just a temporary fix. I traded my first 2008 F-250 sd in for a new truck for having the same issues. I am to the point where this is getting way to dangerous to be on the roads not only for my safety, but my families and other drivers safety as well. It is a known issue and something needs to be done. There have been over 75 formal complaints on this issue thus far with this make model and year. Does it take causing an accident for it to be investigated?.
Purchased 2mth ago. Would not start. Replaced batteries. 4 wks later "pull over safety" on & shut down on a windy road at 6pm. Vehicle towed to auto place. $1500 fix electrical problem. 1 mth later it does it again down busy freeway almost causing near collisions. Toad again. Fixed and same afternoon pulling out to state highway and same signal to pull over comes on & vehicle shuts down & backing up 5pm traffic before being towed again.
While driving at speeds between 40 and 65 mph, the vehicle will suddenly stall. Fuel light engine preheat warning lights will come on. If the cruise control and/or tow haul are in use at the time of the stall, they are shut off at the same time. Engine can usually be restarted; on a few occasions it has been necessary to turn on the emergency flashers and attempt to get out of traffic. This creates a hazardous situation when driving on interstate highways. The stalling has occurred when the vehicle has no load and also when pulling a light weight fifth wheel camper. We have taken the vehicle to 2 local Ford dealerships, they have replaced parts (accelerator pedal, & a "fuel management module) but have been unsuccessful in correcting the problem and claim to be unaware of any history of problems with this model vehicle.

Driving highway speed, after hitting rough area, front end starts to shake violently causing almost loss of control. Took to Ford dealer in laredo, TX and was repaired. This lasted about 8 months and problem arose again as I was driving the interstate in ms. Took to local repair and had king pin[?] replaced but didn't stop the problem. Checked tire pressure, shocks, wheel bearings. . . Research has proven this is very common problem but no real answer. This truck is dangerous to drive and cost over $50,000. What do I do now?.

When u turn on passenger side air bag the radio does not work when u turn it off the traction control light comes on and abs system warning light comes on , the blue tooth stopped working all together no matter which position air pass air bag switch is in.
There were no particular events leading up to the failure. When starting the vehicle engine, the engine will not keep running on its own. To keep the engine running light pressure must be applied to the accelerator to maintain an 800 to 1000 rpm. The vehicle can be driven, however, the left foot must be used for braking since the right foot must be used to keep continuous pressure on the accelorator to prevent the engine from stalling. The accelerator issue will sometimes correct itself after the engine has been running for a period of time after startup, however, in most cases this presents a dangerous situation. When the engine idle corrects itself, the rpms will take a +1000 rpm jump from the current rpm position. For example, if you are stopped at a stop light only a few feet from the car in front of you with light pressure on the brake, the jump from 1000 rpm to 2000 rpm may send the vehicle lurching forward rear-ending the vehicle in front of you if you do not slam on the brakes quickly! another situation that has also caused a "close call" is when driving the vehicle 5 mph at 1000 rpm in a parking lot. The reason this situation is even more dangerous is due to the fact that the brake is typically not being applied at all, so when the +1000 rpm jump to 2000 rpms occurs it can send your vehicle lurching forward into another vehicle or pedestrian that is crossing in front of the vehicle. I attempted to fix the failure by removing the air breather assembly and cleaning the intake throat with caborator cleaner, however, this did not resolve the failure.

Truck has had this problem since I bought it. A shimmy and vibration whenever going over any type of imperfection on the roadway. From a constant vibration up to a severe almost uncontrollable shimmy. Truck will even hop sideways when going over a small patch job on the hwy. I have bought new tires, keep my tire pressure constant and still have the problem. Please help if a fix is known. The last set of tires were ruined due to cupping. At $1300. 00 a set, I do not want to have to replace again after only 15,000 miles, but more then that, I would hate to be the one causing an accident resulting in injury and even death. Please let me know if Ford has come up with a remedy to this problem.
Spark plug thread defect in #2 cylinder causing low compression and possible bent valve damaged by plug debris. The cylinder will need to be removed to correct problem. This is a known condition with Ford and the 5. 4 type engine and they ignore there responsibility completely. The repair is at a cost of about two thousand dollars and they should take some allowance to customers that own there product. Poor quality and design will only continue to reduce american confidence in the auto industry.

My 2004 Ford f250 superduty truck ran very rough and stalled in my front yard; and would not crank again. On October 5 2009, I had purchased it pre-owned from dealer, william mizell Ford, on conditions and that they agreed to provide a carfax report. Well , they hesitated and two months later, after the truck had stalled, I was told too bad it was sold as is.
99 F-250 diesel stalls on freeway. Replaced the recalled cam shaft sensor but still stalls. I was told that the accelerator position sensor could be the problem and many other consumers are having the same problem. The cam shaft sensor was recalled due to stalling and causing possible injury accidents and this should be recalled for the same reason. My family is in danger while driving this truck. Ford knows about this problem and said there is nothing they can do about it. I suppose they are waiting for enough people to die from this problem for it to be resolved. I wonder how many have died from this problem and were not able to tell what happened due to their deaths.
On July 18th 2012 I was taking hollywood blvd to go to the stores and all the sudden the truck just shut off I was able to put the emergency brake and dint' hit anybody. I had it towed to my home. Then a few dates later we took the truck to a Ford dealer were they charge us for checking the truck and the mechanic from the Ford dealer and other people I know that has the same vehicle have had the same problem. And they all told me the same it is a manufacture error and it is so and so bad that the part it is in back order is worth $600. 00 dollars my question to you is why we the people that purchase these vehicles be responsible and have to pay for a part that the Ford manufactured made an error they should replace the part at no cost to us the customers. Because the Ford is the one that made the gem module defective we should not be responsible for that. Thank you.
