No warning light was illuminated. The contact heard flames coming from the dashboard. The contact pulled over and safely exited the vehicle. The contact saw that the engine compartment had caught on fire before the vehicle was completely engulfed in flames. A police officer was driving behind the vehicle and witnessed the fire. A police report was filed. Firefighters arrived and extinguished the fire. The contact was unsure whether a fire department report had been filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard, where it was deemed totaled by the insurance company. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 98,000.

The contact stated that she was informed that the origin of the fire was the result of the connecting ldb wiring harness. The vehicle was towed to a collision lot. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 12,000.

The contact owned a 2017 Ford F-250 hauling an unknown fifth wheel trailer. The contact stated that while driving at 55 - 60 mph, smoke odor was detected. The contact slowed the vehicle down to 10 mph, to stop and pull over. The fire started from the vehicle's engine compartment. The vehicle and travel trailer caught fire. The fire department was able to extinguish the fire. The contact was unaware if there was a fire department report. The contact had smoke inhalation but did not receive medical assistance. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard and was currently being reviewed by the insurance company. The contact works for the dealer and made them aware of the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.
