2001 Ford f250 super duty, driver seat belt will unfasten at any given time.
Driver's side safety belt intermittently releases and retracts automatically. I have had the problem since I purchased the vehicle new from the dealer. At first I assumed that I had not properly seated the male end into the female end. Eventually, I developed a habit of seating the buckle and then tugging firmly on the belt to ensure that it was securely connected. The problem has persisted and upon bringing the vehicle in for repair, I have found that the warrantee is expired and I will have to pay for a new seat belt from the same company that sold me a faulty one in the first place. I believe that this is a safety issue and Ford is apparently not concerned about the safety of their vehicles in this case. I have had the truck for three and a half years and have under 70000 miles on it. I have never had a vehicle that had this problem, nor have I heard of seat belt latching mechanisms wearing out.
Front passenger seat belt continues to "unclick" itself. Example, passenger "clicks" seatbelt in. Thinks they are safer. Minutes later seatbelt unbuckles itself. Passenger must rebuckle self in continually. On 3/29/2002 Ford f250 crew cab truck brought in to theodore robbins Ford (costa mesa, CA) for fixing front passenger side seat belt. They said they fixed it. I have receipt saying it was fixed. Seatbelt still to this day uncllicking itself. Called my local Ford dealership in michigan on February 22, 2005, they said, sorry, out of warranty, you have to pay to have it fixed. . . . . .

Consumer states that the seat belt latch keeps coming undone. Consumer looked online and found that there was recall 01v227001. When consumer contacted Ford she was told that this vehicle was not part of this recall. Due to VIN. The buckle started coming undone only on bumpy roads. But last week it came undone twice on a city street. She originally thought it was because she had not latched it properly, but once it started on the city streets, latching was not the problem. This problem occurred once a year.
