Regards 2005 Ford F-250 super duty VIN:1ftsx21565ea52303 the rear axle back plate / dust sheild holds the holding pins for the emergency brake pads rust out around the pins and renders the brakes use less. Which causes the pads to drag on the drum and therefore pour acceleration/ premerture damage to pads an drum. I was told by a Ford dealer this was a known problem and iwould have to pay $300 per plate need 2 so $600 plus four hours in labor. The Ford service tenant told me the replacements are in stock and are not known to rust and fail. So I asked others owners and of course they either had the work down at cost or were waiting to have the funds to do so. When your still making payments and paying other bills it's hard to pay for something that shouldn't need to be done this early in the vehicles life. Now I live new england so yeah there's salt and mud / dirt to factor in but I don't put a boat in the water with it or wait until a rain storm to rinse of the salt and mud. According to season and weather conditoins. Now I don't know how many or what year range of vehicles where affected. But a recall would make sense. Of course ifind this out after I had to replace the front and rear calipers and rubber hoses at 45000 miles but not the brake shoes they were still good.

The consumer owns a 1999 Ford F-250 super duty pickup. The consumer felt that the brakes were assembled improperly. The vehicle rolled off hill after being parked 60 minutes. Truck was in first gear with emergency brake on! this happened in November of 2001. Received recall notice from Ford motor company during may of 2002 and had service completed may 29th of 2002. On February 28th 2003 the same truck rolled off another hill while in first gear with the emergency brake on, after being parked over 45 minutes! there seems to be a design problem with the emergency brakes and/or transmissions/gear ratio in this model truck***recall did not work!!!!. A person should be able to put this truck in either first gear or reverse with the emergency brake on and come back and find your truck parked in the same place, not two blocks away on top of another car! especially after a recall for this problem!!!! absolutely ridiculous. How else is the general public to park these vehicles? this problem has ruined three vehicles, my flawless insurance record and is going to kill somebody if it already hasn't.
Master clutch was replaced, part broke twice, replace.
When applying brakes rear end vibrates. Parking brakes are sticks on causing vibration and inadequate braking.
