Eight problems related to cruise control have been reported for the 1999 Ford F-350. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
1) cruise control would not always set & when I touched the brake it would not always stop.
The contact owns a 1999 f350. Had the dealer check the speed control deactivation switch. Could not tell the part number, but it was the same one being used on the Ford/bronco that was being recalled under NHTSA campaign 05v388000. It was replaced. The contact has the old part. Would like the f350 model be added to the recall because of the part number on the speed control deactivation switch that the contact found on truck.
Consumer applied brake at 65 mph/cruise was set/ vehicle did not slow down, engine kept revving, consumer had to manually turn off cruise control to slow down vehicle.
While driving down the road at approximately 50mph and applying the brakes, heard a heavy noise. When taking off and giving it gas, vehicle won't shift, and the rpms were higher. Also, speedometer would go out. Vehicle is the fifth time at the dealer for service.
A fews days after purchase the cruise control failed to work. Mjs.
Had the cruise control on & it would fail to release when brake pedal or accelerator pedal were touched. Would press the decelerator button, but that failed to release cruise control. Problem is intermittent. Been to dealer & informed by mechanic there was nothing that could be done & to wait to see if recall will happen.
When taking foot off the accelerator pedal and when the engine returns to idle, engine shuts down, causing loss of power steering and brakes. Please give any further details.
This questionnaire is complicated. There are problems too numerous to list all here. This vehicle has rear end problems, engine, diesel exhaust, fumes inside truck' cupping of the tires and front end problems. The towing power is terribble. Cruise control kicks off if truck is in a pull on a slight incline. Loss of power like engine dies when you pull off from stop. Dealer is trying to fix, but so far no luck. Dealer has ask regional to contact us with no response. They have called almost everyday for two weeks. Know several other owner of f350 with same problems. We need help in getting these problems solved. If any other owners have similar problems please contact ralph taylor 410 pervie bolick st. , eden,nc 27288 336 635 2792 or 336 623 1920. Thank you.
