I have a 1999 f350 super duty diesel with a 7. 3 engine and my inside light do not work right some times it will just come on as you are driving down the street and some times it wont come on when you open the door . The inside light is getting worse my truck would just stop running as you are driving down the street or at a stop light. I went into the fuse box under the steering wheel and I thought it could be a fuse come to fine out that my relay fuse to the inside light was so hot that it could have started a fire so I pulled it out now I drive around with no inside lighting.
Auto part put on order but seems Ford motor company knows problem existed with many other transmissions yet it seems tech's at auto dealers are some how not aware of problem in tech orders that should be issued. The part is hard to get as it's on back orders. The part number is(cluster gears for speedometers that go into transmissions)xc3z*10849 instrument cluster with 7543 agc-20amp glass fuse. The dealers are charging customers a total of $610. 18 for the repair. When this part fails the speedometer stops operating v10transmissions.
The vehicle suddenly lost accelerating power, then lost all power, brakes and steering. I was able to pull over with no problems. New cam sensor solved problem.
