Three problems related to other fuel system pump have been reported for the 1999 Ford F-350. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
01/2016: vehicle was being driven home from work when there was a loss of engine power. Vehicle was able to roll to a stop in the parking lot of a church. Later it was determined this resulted from failure of #7 cylinder injector unit, believed to have failed due to delamination inside of fuel tank. About 02/23/2014, 207980 miles: fuel tank had been removed and internal screens cleared due to the engine stalling while driving prior to injector failure. Internal pick-up tube screens were blocked with delamination material from the inside of the tank. Two new fuel pumps had been purchased and installed prior to cleaning the internal pick-up screens. I have receipts for work and parts relating to the fuel system problem.
The left rear wheel separated from the vehicle, which caused the vehicle jerk foward. The consumer requested an 03 vehicle or reimbursement for the incidental expenses. After the purchase of the vehicle, the manual, lockable hub(s) began to fail. The dealer convinced the consumer(s) to purchase 8 ply tires, but this didn't reduce the noise or hub problems, the consumer also experienced acceleration problem's. The dealer couldn't find the problem. The engine idled rough and the engine light had come on. A bad cam sensor was found, and a sound had come from the fuel pump. An adapter to the metal plate was built in, extending from the underdash, to the firewall, to provide a better ground system. Scc.
Consumer states he has put 6 fuel pump on his truck since 1999. He also states that the first pump lasted approx 40,000 mile, the 2nd on e lasted up to 60,000 miles, and the rest of them he cannot remember. He states that the last pump was put on Nov 19 or 20th and lasted only 10 days. He stated too, that when the pumps goes out his truck stops and if he is on the mountain or on a hill, he cannot break or stop the truck because of the weight that he carries. He carries steel and it is heavy. He states that this is scarry, and nobody seem to be able to help him.
