Five problems related to tank assembly have been reported for the 1999 Ford F-350. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
While traveling with friends and horses, at highway speeds(65) the fuel guage was showing a little over a quarter and the trip computer was still showing about 60 miles to empty. The truck sputtered and engine stalled. It was out of fuel. After trying to get Ford roadside assistance - who said wait 5-6 hrs till morning and we'll get someone out, and aaa who doesn't transport fuel - only gas. The nc hp was contacted and then transported to truck stop and back to truck with fuel - then truck ran fine.
Received safety recall regarding fuel tank assembly. Took vehicle in. Called dealer to check on vehicle . Dealer indicated vehicle repairs almost done. Couple hours later, called dealer back and dealer indicated did not have parts. Had to take vehicle back when parts came in.
Dealer refused to repair NHTSA recall 99v311000/manufacturer's recall 99s32 because of a fifth wheel on this vehicle.
Dealer claims cannot perform recall # 99s32 because bracket for fifth wheel interfers with recall.
Consumer not cover under recall due to VIN for the fuel tank vapor recovery valve (99v-311).
