Cruise Control problems of the 2000 Ford F-350

Four problems related to cruise control have been reported for the 2000 Ford F-350. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 11/24/2009

200 Ford F-350 burned to ground after being parked in driveway for five hrs. Suspect cruise control switch. Fire marshall said obvious short in wiring. Did not have comprehensive coverage, business auto liability will not cover any of over $8,000 loss of tools, equipment and supplies because the fire was not caused by my negligence. Loss of truck, tools and supplies estimate over $20,000. Why is Ford not responsible?? have read of many other similar circumstances.

2 Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 10/11/2007

In September 2007 I received recall 05s28 from Ford motor company concerning my 2000 350 super duty truck. On October 11, 2007, Ford dealer bluebonnet motors disconnected the cruise control switch and advised me the replacement part would be available in approximately 30 days. It has been 204 days and the replacement part is not available. This is a motor home and is used for long trips. It is very tiring and results in unsafe conditions to drive without cruise control.

3 Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 01/19/2005

While the vehicle was parked a fire started under the hood. The vehicle was totaled. The manufacturer was notified, but did not resolve the problem.

4 Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 12/01/2000

Idle goes up and down. When it goes up vehicle wants to accelerate. Contacted dealer, and deaelr could not find anything.
