Two problems related to steering tie rod assembly have been reported for the 2001 Ford F-350. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The contact owns a 2001 Ford F-350. The contact stated that while parked with the ignition on, he turned the steering wheel and the wheels did not turn. The vehicle was inspected by an independent mechanic and the mechanic stated that the front tie rod would have to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 190,000.
Truck drifts to side of road or pulls hard and sudden when moderate to hard braking is applied. Effect is not as apparent after alignment is performed. Approximately 7 attempts were made to repair. Tie rod pulled apart while driving.
