Two problems related to brake hoses, lines/piping, and fittings have been reported for the 2003 Ford F-350. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Brake Hoses, Lines/piping, And Fittings problem

Failure Date: 04/19/2008

I along with others are having problems with brake lines rusting out and failing on Ford trucks. My rear brake lines rusted out at the points where the lines are connected to the frame. I have spoken with other Ford truck owners and am hearing similar stories. I own a 2003 Ford F-350 4 wheel drive with a v-10 gas engine. I find it hard to believe that I should have 2 brake lines rust out on a truck that is only 5. 5 years old and only has 55k miles on it. My brakes failed early on a Sunday morning so I was able to stop my truck before there was an accident. I have spoken to mechanics and was told the connector used to hold the brake line to the frame scratched off a protective coating that keeps the brake lines from rusting thus I only had rust in the areas where the clips where. I had to pay 767. 76 dollars to have this problem fixed with only a guarantee that it will happen again within the next 5 or 6 years.

2 Brake Hoses, Lines/piping, And Fittings problem

Failure Date: 02/23/2005

2002 Ford f350 suffered a ruptured brake line. ** answer required***. When the brakes were applied the pedal did not feel normal. The garage found that the brake line was improperly installed. The brake line was rubbing against the support for the shock absorber.
